  1. what’s more interesting, will be to see if we decide to sue man city and chelsea for our lost champions league money…
  2. I honestly think the solution with kel in our system is a simple one… just let him stay in the bloody box. All this drifting to the play is good for nobody. Let him poach and i’m sure he’d hit 20 goals in a season. I think enzo is asking too much from his strikers and if that’s what he wants… we don’t have someone for it (unless cannon is that man)
  3. I know people don’t like new rivalries…. but you’ve got to guarantee everton would become one if we sued them and they went into administration. They’d absolutely despise us and i’m all for it
  4. I don’t think it will be that hard to prove. Everyone knew they were falling foul of ffp yet they still were moving crazy in the window. How can they claim anything else. Last season they brought in about 90m from richalison and gordon. If they were truly trying to stick to the rules they would have banked it… but they didn’t they splurged another 70m on signings. plus probably large loan fees that aren’t included in that. That includes onana for a huge fee. That’s just ignoring the rules with no attempt to get back in line of ffp. (id also expect the wages of those coming in was larger than that of the players departing on the whole) It’s not hard to point at their summer and ours and highlight that one team is following the rules and one is ignoring them. if you can’t prove that 250m worth of players doesn’t earn 2points than you need a new career
  5. if we are successful suing everton here, does that not mean that Derby could sue us for finishing 3rd the season we broke ffp rules? 😵
  6. and the last scottish australian we had…. paddy kisnorbo
  7. Do we think there could yet be a place for souttar in this team? Vestergarde has been a revelation and it feels bad to be taking aim at his position right now. But I can’t help but wonder if his success, let’s us know that pace is not essential for the role. I think Souttar is under rated on the ball, I think he’s far from a hoof it merchant and whilst it’s not a core strength, it’s something that could be worked on. Looking at the bigger picture, i think it’s evident that jannik won’t be here much longer and in truth that’s the right call. We won’t get away with his antics in the prem, those consistent yellow card offences won’t occur once a game, they will be 3 times a game… and he would become a liability. So we are perhaps in a place to work on the evolution and whilst that is more likely to be coady, the swap of coady and vesty leaves us seriously lacking in height. If i was rhe boss, i’d be making harry my project, because of all the resources available, he’s the one that i feel if you get playing your way would be absolutely huge. He’s got a magnet head like maguire and if you could get him really comfortable on the ball, you’d be working towards a managers dream. I will always have questions around what could have been if he doesn’t get a proper shot here. The performances last season against brentford and newcastle were enough for me to know that there’s a pretty stellar player in there. I’d just love for him to make it here
  8. I don’t think we win this. We signed up and agreed that any punishments for falling foul will come from the premier league. The premier league are now punishing them. How is there then a legal option to pursue separate compensation, especially when the club has taken a punishment from the league. Can someone also explain to me how anyone other than burnley and ourselves have a valid claim here? nothing effected leeds or southampton
  9. can’t help but think if they weren’t already way clear of the relegation clubs this wouldn’t have happened. Premier league just trying to keep the relegation fight interesting for a few more weeks 😂
  10. That’s a thing of beauty. I’m a little surprised we haven’t rotated him in a little more after a very solid game against stoke. In fact, stoke was the last game we actually looked decent.
  11. it’s just so late in the day now. They are obviously going to sit tight and see if a big offer comes to them in january. if they agree something with us now, i’d be worried by how much we’d have to be offering them.
  12. it’s a shame, because he actually would be very good at the lcb role on this team. But I respect his choice
  13. tbh i find man city typically terribly boring to watch. so it’s a fair take even when we are doing well. I don’t think anyone can truthfully say the boa constrictor, slowly kill you with possession approach is as enjoyable as a slightly more gung ho approach, even if you get better results. Personally i want a balance. But I don’t find myself bored with how we are playing because i know what we will get to when we do break the lines.
  14. no offence but i think you are way off. The reason for winks playing that way is largely to attract the press for us to break the lines. It might seem frustrating at times as we watch what seems like a lame safety pass but that’s because sometimes the opposition don’t take the bait. But the one moment they do, we break the line… and he’s done that near on perfect all season. This game absolutely suits him and he’d probably tell you that himself. I don’t understand why our own fans can’t see that it’s a methodical move not a safety play. it’s always going to seem terrible when we have an off day and it doesn’t bear fruits.
  15. personally if budget allows i’d consider 2. If the deal is right and we believe they can play in the prem. i just like the idea of a player who can seemingly cover all 4 of our back 4 spots. we will need a cb in the summer so it all depends on if we already have targets set. But having 6 months to bed in could be huge for us. Or we could end up going up and signing someone like Bassey who can’t get up to speed. i’d rather find that out now.
  16. I wonder if chris richards would be a good shout. Injuries have stopped his palace career getting started. Also very comfortable on the left. Not getting in ahead of Guehi and anderson any time soon. id think he’s worth a punt at 23
  17. I think we should go old school and put vesty up front for the last 10.
  18. if we’re looking at league 1, then it’s a damn shame ronnie edwards is right footed. used to playing in a 3. Excellent distribution. Destined for the top and another half season in league 1 has been good for him. Id still be keen for us to look at him.
  19. brighton have been the same in recent weeks. It really wasn’t just pure mismanagement that we dropped off in the seasons we were in europe. It’s a tough ask for smaller sides.
  20. Worth a go if cannons not ready. Somethings not clicking with either vardy or nacho.
  21. I do find it a little frustrating that we don’t really have a more attacking system to role our when we go behind. Theres just no real change of shape or urgency. We need to roll the dice a little more. It’s just hard to sit and be patient when we are trailing like that
  22. anyone remember who gave the closer freekick that was missed? Not many probably. The context is all in the end result, can’t blame hamza who 9 times out of 10 gets away with that not resulting in a goal.
  23. blimey, is it actually working today
  24. just brendan’s methods causing long term damage. not a coincidence that kante and mahrez never played under him
  25. there’s always a side that you don’t expect to sneak in though. People would have said this about both luton and cov last season
