Aha it was always in Saudi currency wasn’t it

Otherwise known as a preseason friendly

I didn’t rate Armartey until he moved to RB, I think we would be foolish to sell him now. Makes sense to keep him as the back up. Simpson has been a great servant but he just won’t fit our new style
-
Just heard Gary Cahill is available, I’d be over the moon if that was possible
-
In Christian Eriksen's last season with Ajax he only scored 10 and assisted 16.... therefore AJ is better than him.... bargain
-
Huth did this, we werent too bothered if it got results. Im certain both of them would improve our backline.
-
You wouldn’t take Lovren?!?
-
I hope not. He showed last season he’s not up to RB. As part of a 5 he’s proven he can handle it, but as part of a 4 he’s never going to be good enough. With all the money we have why would we be looking at square pegs in round holes?

Due to all the TV money, buying players from competitors is going to be crazy over priced, simply because clubs don’t need the money any more. Because of this clubs are having to look overseas to find a bargain, doesn’t matter who the player is, when they haven’t played in the league before, they are a gamble. If you look at the big clubs in the league their recruitment is probably pretty similar in terms of success rate. If if you take last year as an example, everyone was saying how great West Broms transfers were (because they were household names). And people said Swansea made the move of the window on deadline day. How did that work out? Im refusing to judge our window until they play their first few games as none of us know how these guys will get on.

Typical Leicester, waiting all this time to sell Riyad and do it on the same day as the Ronaldo move. We’re going to have to compete with Madrid for all our targets now

Its like you had a girlfriend that was way too good for you, you were always expecting her to leave you eventually. You had a tif and knew things were coming to an end but it was dragged out because youd already had a holiday booked. As soon as the holiday was done she was off with the next door neighbour with the nice car. You knew it was coming so have been back on tinder for the last few months (lets hope we found our match already)

What if the fee is actually huge and we have bargained with Man city to say it’s only $60m. To try and stop teams asking for crazy sums of money for their own players? Rudkin masterstroke

Im not sure how people can swing their opinion so quickly. We were told before he signed by CSKA fans that he can do wonderful things but they were usually surrounded by terrible displays. The premier league is a far too strong league to carry someone like that in your squad. If your ambition is to stay in the league then yes a player like that is worth the gamble as they will win you a few games but if you want to be a GOOD, top half team then you need consistency as you need to grind out the results week in, week out. This is what we aspire to be, so why are we even considering him an option? This season should have been a lesson for us as we had a great opportunity to finish 7th but we didnt have that consistency, I want quality players that I can rely on on a regular basis, not someone who we have to wait 5 games to get the 'real player'. You simply cant afford too many off days and no matter how confident Musa is he will always have too many.
-
He thinks he’s a lot better than he is, he would expect to start games there. Always here arrogant comments coming from him.
-
That’s how spurs felt about Bale. If it’s spent appropriately you can improve a few key areas and end up with a higher quality side. Just got to hope we’ve got a few players close to his ability already lined up.

IMO the under 23’s are only pointless if there is no room for them to make the first team. If you have a coach like Puel who will pay attention to them, then it actually makes sense to keep them with us so that the manager can get to know them more. As much as we like to think it’s happening Claude wasnt watching full match replays of Barnsleys games to see if Barnes was good. He was watching him when he was in the under 23’s. I get your point that they learn more from loan spells, but I actually think we currently have the set up that makes our under 23’s team worth something.
-
But players don’t like Puel, he bores them in training. There’s no way one of his previous players would go near him?
-
Any ideas when our option to buy is likely to expire? Please Claude

He gives his best but just cant string a sentence together. Solid point, only English speaking strikers in the national team!

Who should we sign (asset strip) from relegated clubs
Lambert09 replied to On our way...'s topic in Transfer Talk
This would be a terrible signing. He has flashes of class but for the most part plays like Darius Vassell (holds the ball to long, runs down blind alleys) he holds it up well but always seems to make the wrong choice. If you watch a lot of him you wouldnt want him in our team. Not the step up we need. He just gives off the illusion that he is far better than he really is. Alwas hard to drop a player putting the effort in that he does but I think this is part of the reason his clubs went down. -
I think Pascal Gross would be ideal for us.
-
I wonder how this vote would look if we manged to beat Arse and Spurs... huge opportunities to turn doubt into optimism despite our recent performances. Id probably take 5000/1 odds on it at this point... but we know those odds can be defied

Also I know someone who worked with sir Martin at Celtic and Leicester and they are still good friends. I asked him a few weeks ago about Martins feelings towards us and he said he would never come back . Probably irrelevant info but don’t be betting on it Edit: FYI it’s not because he doesn’t like us, he adores us. Just wouldn’t want to ruin the memories. Football is a different world to what it was back then.

Is this standard Pearson package or the Pearson dream package. Pearson will never do well alone imo, the trio is what worked.
