Puel was Leicesters pubity, nobody likes, it wasnt pretty but he's set us up to be one handsome fella. Puelberty out!

I personally think its a mixture of the two. No, winning isnt going to guarantee development but it is a habit that we want our youngsters to have. I think the players that have come through have been better off because they have already learnt the art of winning games, grinding out results and the importance of team play as opposed to individual performances.

I also mentioned this post match. Exactly what I was thinking when I watched the game. The moment when YT decided to turn and play the ball back to a defender when he was wide open straight in front of him made me cringe for the guy.
-
I wouldnt say im writing him off, he's our player so i'll support him. I just think that if he was good enough he would have featured more, I hope im wrong. But currently, Im sure if the club could get the 19 mil back they would jump at it. Which is why id argue its been a negative on Macias transfers Another trait that the foxestalk masses have is assuming someone who isnt featuring is better than they are.

I dont know if this justifies it, but there were some shocking cb signing this season for similar prices
-
I'd agree with most of this but for me, whatever way you look at it... 19 mill for Soyuncu seems a bad deal. He may end up improving and being a decent player, but there's been nothing to suggest hes anywhere close to a 19 million pound player. For 19 mill you expect something pretty damn special, whatever their age.

If we are looking for a backup striker, who is a target man and Deeney might be leaving on a free... there would be worse options. *EDIT ignore this he isnt out of contract, he was just being cheeky in his interview. I wouldnt pay for him
-
I think its all going to come down to Silva. If Monaco see him as a top transfer target then I think we will get YT, it may be costly but id be happy with overpaying as we know what we are getting. Overpaying for an unknown quantity is one thing but we know what he can offer us. My worry is that Monaco will have players that they think are an upgrade on Silva and will want the YT cash to go and get them.

Why? Is Europa league suddenly more important than Champions league?
-
I couldn’t believe we didn’t go in for him that next summer. Instead we spent 5 mill on Matt Mills, disastrous business
-
Ben Mee was awesome
-
Good game but I dont think we'd ever get away with him partnering Maguire.
-
History will remember him as an integral player in a title win that you could only dream of. But if you prefer to be bitter, knock yourself out.

Chillwell for Mahrez +10 mill I wonder if City would accept on offer of their money back for Mahrez ? He hasnt been bad, but he hasnt been great. I think theyd be tempted, although he wouldnt be. In usual circumstances his value would fall but with a possible quadruple I cant see it. But seriously, the thought of Riyad in this current team is mouthwatering

They are very similar to us in many ways. At their best on the counter attack, which is why they do so much damage to the big boys, but struggle to break down teams that will just sit back. I'm looking forward to playing them again next year as a real measuring stick to how far Brendan has taken us.
-
I dont think it was his ability that was the problem, more so his attitude. He came in to the team and after 2/3 games you could see him constantly shouting at his team mates on the pitch and quite clearly blaming others for just about everything. Doesnt take a psychologist to notice that he didnt have a strong bond with his team mates from what we could see.
-
It pains me to admit this, I know im going to get slaughtered but from what I've seen of Wolves, I think they are a better side than us at the moment. They probably do deserve the spot they're sat in. If we finish 8th/9th it would probably be about right for us at the moment. *ducks for cover

Can’t believe how many people are ruling this out. Id only be worried if we going into in playing the first 11 at the early stages. Otherwise what’s the issue? We get the chance to blood some more youth and if we can get out of the group stages it would be class. Why are people blaming EL for Burnley? Not the case at all, they just haven’t improved their squad and are exactly where they should be. Nothing to do with the extra games
-
I think we will need to win the next 3 if there's going to be any chance of this. I actually think the Europa league would be great for us, our reserves are already good enough to get us somewhere... without the summer (or including under 23's) If we can play with the below squad for early stage games... whats the downside. Its exactly what Kel / Ghezzal need, confidence boosting opportunities! Ward Simpson/Armartey Wes/Benkovic Soyuncu Fuchs/Elder Mendy Hamza Ghezzal Shinji Albrighton/ Barnes/ Grey Iheanacho

Absolutely, he’s done great given the circumstances. I have always had the impression that Top was as involved in the decision making as his dad? Very much a joint project. Everybit as important to our club as Vichai and I feel in just as safe hands as before. He has such a calming influence when he speaks and seems to always say the right things, despite English not being his first language.

Harry is a new age Centreback. There are managers that seem to value the attacking side to a defender as much as their ability to defend. With Harry, you will get the best of him as part of a 3. (This isn’t a play 3 at the back rant) He thrives from being able to get on the ball and take some risks and as everyone has mentioned his positioning is suspect at times. With 3 at the back he can get away with this! I think its harsh to say to say he can’t defend, because he really can. You see this in his last ditch tackles and blocks, his ability in the air can’t be questioned. The issue is simply that he’s often the reason that he has to make last ditch saves. In terms of a defender he’s still young, I’m confident he will continue to improve

I think we forked our 12 mill on a backup keeper because we disnt want another Conrad. One big keeper injury and if the youngsters aren’t up to scratch we could be in a huge muddle.

Westley Nathan Morgan - Appreciation Thread

Love how the club have forced this over the line while the fans are loving him for a last minute winner. Genius PR. -
This is worrying. Remember when we had to use Steve Walshes old targets without investigating them properly. You end up With Henandez, Musa and Slimani.... it was public that Walsh had scouted at least the last 2, but our itk's suggested Walsh thought both should only be considered at the right price. Without a scout we just panicked and got them in however possible. I still think if slimani had come in at reasonable fee it would have been worth a punt. You could even argue the same for Musa... on his day he is immense but that day only comes once every 2 years. Bad signings but I would understand why a scout would be investigating them in the first place. If someone had done their due diligence they would have realised that you cant pay that much money for players who cant control a pass. We will always be left wondering what type of players Walsh would have got for us if we had the lure of champions league football. Biggest opportunity for the club to stake a claim for top 6 and we completely wasted it. Relegation fighting teams would have been disappointing with that window.
