  1. He's one of our own He's one of our own Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha He's one of our own!
  2. Done - tearfully and very difficult to express exactly what I wanted to say.
  3. Think I'll be going ticket or not just to feel part of this. Sure the home fans will be fine on a day like this.
  4. Unbelievable. Well done Watford - proud of you all!
  5. Well said Matt - much more than a football club owner. Wish I could get to the ground today as I'm feeling lost, frankly.
  6. Absolutely devastating news. Many thanks to the supporters of other teams from around the world who have come on here tonight demonstrating that football is something that brings people together. Hoping and praying for the best but fearing the worst.
  7. Interesting fact - have driven past the le Havre stadium and it lights up blue at night. Looks good from the outside!
  8. A game we could have won. Thought we were on top after going behind yet again, then the Morgan sending off handed the initiative right back to them. 3 sendings off in 8 games - that kind of indiscipline does cost points in this league.

    Hiroki Sakai

Forgot to say he currently plays for Marseille.
  10. London evening standard says he has attracted interest from us Crystal Palace and Brighton. Also says we've expressed reservations over his £12 million valuation. 28 year old Japanese International right back. Can't see it happening myself.

    Maguire

Awards ceremony? I think they meant clean sweep or double award?
  12. Now that is a crazy stat! If only we'd been in the top flight all that time! The good news is we must be close to first for the number of promotions to the top flight!
  13. Just been said on Sky that West Brom will become the team that has been relegated the third most times from the top flight when their relegation is confirmed. Birmingham are first (12 times) and we are second (11 times). Puts our current position in perspective?
  14. Got to disagree with this and particularly the last paragraph! He's pretty high up on the list of record appearances for us (top 5 off the top of my head) and captained us in two league Cup finals - lifting the trophy in one. He scored in two play off finals (I'll never forget his double against the sheep sha***rs) and captained us in another- again lifting the trophy. Scored numerous goals as a centre half and even had one glorious season as a striker. I don't think that there's many players who have achieved anywhere near what he did whilst at Leicester and many of my best memories involved him. I'd take a statue of Walshy lifting the league cup (alongside Wes lifting the Prem and Banks lifting the World Cup).
  15. Fixed it for you.

Funny really. Who knows what will happen between now and the end of the season,but..... we are currently on course to equal or better our second highest ever premier league position and we have a more than decent chance to progress in the FA Cup, and it’s still mainly all gloom and doom on here. Yes we are a million miles away from Man City, as are everybody else, and I agree nobody likes being on the wrong end of a 5-1, but let’s keep some perspective please?
  17. When I read the title of this thread I thought it was about people who start overly reactive (and badly spelt) threads every time we have a bad result!
  18. Mahrez English translation: had a cob on but is now fully committed !
  19. So he’s back from his strop, he’ll probably be on the bench Saturday and he’ll probably be off in the summer. My opinion - it’s frustrating/ disappointing but time to move on - if he plays well for the rest of his time here I’ll forgive him - if he’s rubbish I probably won’t and he’ll deserve the flak he will inevitably receive. Keith Weller did something similar and he’s still my favourite player!
  20. Mahrez statement on sky sports just now ...” lots of assumptions made...club knew where he was at all times...will continue to give his all”. Full statement is on the Mercury website.
  21. Completely off thread here, but I’m learning some fantastic new phrases lately! This and “stop to tell bullshit” are my current favourites!
  22. Isn’t that illegal?
  23. Perhaps Riyad is struggling with the fact that despite handing in transfer requests, sitting in airports and employing a high profile agent to very publicly try and obtain a move, none of Europe’s elite clubs have ever put in a serious bid?
  24. I’m really struggling to remember a record signing in living memory that had the kind of impact you would expect. I go back a long way so can remember equally bad high value signings like Roger Davies. It’s interesting that our “legends” were nearly all bought for relatively low fees or from lower league sides, were fringe or reserve team players, were home grown or latterly French grown, or were (slightly) flawed geniuses. Obviously, in part it’s because we’ve never been big enough to attract the highest level of player when they are at the prime, but it would be interesting to see how many players we have bought over the years for a record or even substantial fee that turned out to be worth the investment. It’s no wonder the owners are investing so much in youth players and development facilities.
