Today …. Embarrassing result to be honest. Open Top Bus Parade …. Embarrassing, we are only doing this because we screwed up and got ourselves relegated. Yes, we’ve got over the line, however only because the others bottled it as much as we did. From where we were, we shouldn’t have finished below 100 points. That alone has irritated me that we haven’t done that. If we wanted to throw the game today, at least play a mix of those who are on their last game for us and some younger players. Total joke of a day and we are arranging a bloody party to celebrate us righting the wrong that was relegation.

Top 6 - 8 aside….. Most Premier League matches are fairly 50/50. I don’t think we will see points totals as low as this season for the bottom 4 clubs. It’s most likely going to be a grind for us, so we are aiming to get to 50 points-ish when you consider possible deductions. We will need to most likely beat Leeds and Ipswich, which we’ve failed to do this season. Then Bournemouth, Brentford, Palace, Fulham, Wolves, Forest, Everton and West Ham. It annoys me that each county votes at different times. Why isn’t everyone voting tonight for a new local councillor and then this tallies up, so the party with the most votes runs the country. Also, why oh why am I voting on who the police chief commissioner is. 85% of people have no idea or can not resonate with them. It’s like conducting interviews at work, then ask every member of staff to vote on who they want. It is all a farce. I need to buy an island in the middle of the ocean somewhere.

Leeds were at their best from 1964 - 1975. 2 x winners of Division 1 and an FA Cup, League Cup and 5 x runners up in League 1 and, 3 x FA Cup finalist, one League cup finalist and a European cup winners finalist. In that period though, they lost the title against multiple other teams. It’s not like they lost against the same team continually. They were certainly at their best under Don Revie but I guess like Nigel Pearson for us, Revie didn’t exactly set the world alight elsewhere. He build a robust (dirty Leeds) team that had a culture of togetherness but that didn’t translate to the England national job. The Premier League is better for having them in it as a fan base, as they are unique. They still have that “we all hate Leeds” attitude, despite that culture and playing style being long gone.
