  1. McKenna stepping down probably has a baring on our appointment as I’m sure Russell will want to talk to Ipswich and his agent will be touting. Great if it means he don’t come here but if he is #1 target it just puts everything back until Ipswich decide who they want before saying no to Russell.
  2. Just finished & loved it. All the leads were perfect especially Steve, Phil & Charly & It had some great supporting characters like Mo (Robby Hoffman) glad they have a S2 being lined up
  3. & yet it’s reported Manchester United are keeping tabs on him, a team who finished 3rd in the premier league but he’s only good enough for a ‘Hull’ with a view to after they are relegated in your view I’ve said it before Aluko & Nelson will have the highest ceiling in all of the young lads we played in the 1st team last season, funny how we all look at players differently.
  4. If we are after a young keeper then Pierce Charles please
  5. I know it’s been mentioned already but the efficient Europeans are making a royal cluster of this EES process, you only have to register once every 3 years they say but it doesn’t matter if you have registered or not, your all in the same line and stuck with everyone else, which is why the Q’s are so big. In time I guess the bigger airports will adopt different lines but this should be happening from the get-go, those smaller island style places that only have 5 machines, Corfu for example it’s going to have its visitors snaking around the runway directly in the sun as it can only hold about 50 people inside when it was the stamp process now it’s got 5 or 6 machines further into the room closer to where you enter so less room for people. The lax attitude of the border staff is 1 of the main issues also as they only spring into action when a flight announces “last call for…” & then it seems to be the passengers fault as they start getting abrupt with them if they don’t stand in the right position or handover their passports quick enough. You can reply all you like about Brexit but the system is failing due to the system, us Brits love a Q, we would join 1 just to see what everyone else is Q’ing for, but with EES we just stand there laughing in bewilderment at the system and the total mess they are making of it.
  6. They also only have 3 players under the age of 24 in their 1st team squad. Monga will undoubtedly get dragged along for the better within the Arsenal environment but he is far from being equal to the other 2 lads you refer to, he has a lot of growing up and belief in himself needed which is what stands those other 2 far and above our Monga. Dowman at his age is coming on and changing high stakes games for instance showing belief he deserves to be there and can not only hold his own but drag the team along with him, Monga looks sheepish just coming out the tunnel at Leicester. Looks like Nwaneri, now 19, will be moved on this summer with Newcastle sniffing around. Of the 3 u24 currently at the club Lewis-Skelly also 19 was being talked about in making the England WC squad, they have something that Monga doesn’t currently have, can he find it at Arsenal can you even teach it. If we can get a very good fee for him good luck to the lad I really wish him well.
  7. As per my Monga thread comment But us mere mortals looking on football forums don’t half big up players and then slate, in this case Leicester City for not keeping talent but, the academy is doing all it can to keep Motsi but due to age there is very little that can be done if [x] player is drawn to a [name] club it’s what all young lads dream of. Kids what 15 and whilst he’s ripping it up now anything can happen & it’s not just our poorly run club…take the hottest prospect right now Yann Diomande, I’ve mentioned him a few times now. Chelsea and as quoted on here the “we’ll run clubs” of Bournemouth & Palace all had him on trial & all passed him up yet at 19 he’s next transfer & possibly with Liverpool this summer will be north of 80m & probably over 100m …shit happens but in the case of Motsi it’s his age & a kids thinking that is stopping Leicester City from keeping him not it’s lack of trying.
  8. I’m getting confused again, 1 minute the forum is telling me Seagrave/academy is not doing its job the next minute we should be hanging on to players 🤷‍♂️ I want a team full of academy lads as much as the next man but if, if we get 15m for a 16/17 we take it and say all the best. There will be better options for what we need right now, look at Morgan Whittaker who went for half that and scored 14 for Boro & 7 assists still only 25…now I’m not saying him but as an example. For what it’s worth my personal opinion is that out of all the academy lads who played last season in our 1st team Aluko will have the best career followed by Nelson it’s those 2 we need to keep. After that the likes of Braybrooke, JJ, Cartwright and Wilson-Brown will build the foundations for our future team. We just need to get as much as we can for Monga & unfortunately due to age what ever the system believes is fair for Motsi
  9. Where I was coming from was that if we rattled a 5pt win with a gap of 31pts or more in the score we could have been able to draw next week and get it or even lose providing we achieved the bonus points of 1 or 2 depending on if Bath got 4 or 5 themselves. As it happens it’s now just winner takes the advantage with them or a draw is good enough for Bath.
  10. A bonus point win today gives us a little flexibility for a possible home advantage next week but just need to secure the win 1st. Exeter need the win to stay in contention and have their own straight shoot out with Sarries & not have to worry about Bristol who should beat Sale next week.
  11. Funny you should say that because Sky have just told me “This is the first Champions League final to see both sides score since 2018 (Real Madrid 3-1 Liverpool)” How f’ing boring is the most coveted competition
  12. Would the Dykes link be softer on the ear if it was said he would be brought in to play the Shinji type role, hurry and hassle as opposed to be the new #9 out and out striker? All fans of his other clubs & for Scotland say that that’s his bread and butter not the 15-20 goal type, but it’s his nastiness and effort, isn’t that what we also miss? Maybe even be support / protect Evans who could lead the line Shinji/Vardy style? Yes it brings a wee bit of 🤢 to the mouth if he’s linked to lead the line himself mind but as that menace to chase the lost cause, harry a defence & keeper and just get in the way & not be bullied (especially in L1) on a free would it be easier to accept? Plus not sure he’s a Russell’s type player so every cloud better of 2 evils
  13. Ironically just yesterday the great Pirlo stated the games changed again and players / teams need / want pace. The kids got time on his side and a lot of growing up to do
  14. So 5th out of the 8 see it’s not all doom and gloom
  15. Wouldn’t read to much into the scores as 7s are usually high scoring and there were a lot of goals scored in all matches yesterday. Also wouldn’t read to much into the tournament it’s all a bit of fun just look at all the goal celebrations, Ruby Mace’s against her old club for instance and Denny Drapers to make it 7:2 at the time, it’s just a show & they are all enjoying themselves. Both our goals well taken, Denny’s and particularly Mouchon’s who hit hers with some venom. Think Katie Keane might just be nipping ahead of Leitzig for next season mind. Our full squad: Janina Leitzig Katie Keane Asmita Ale Heather Payne Julie Thibaud Sarah Mayling Nelly Las Sam Tierney Emily van Egmond Emma Jansson Simone Sherwood Jutta Rantala Noémie Mouchon Alisha Lehmann Denny Draper Hannah Cain Rosella Ayane
  16. Fair play to Gordon’s Spanish, lad did good 👏
  17. Another take away from that picture is that top 5 covers a 37yr period where as the bottom 5 are struggling to complete 10
  18. Think you're being a bit loose & free with the "whole raft of teams have brought in managers & new signings......" wording as there are still 5 or 6 championship clubs with vacant positions which is pretty much as per the end of season, as well as 2 Prem clubs dropping requiring coaching staff also, ok now Nuno is staying so 1 but that was only agreed lastnight but had he not that would also cause a ripple of management movements depending on who they replaced him with. All of those Championship clubs have been linked to names mentioned in this chat & all those clubs can offer more currently, even if short term. It is off season & most clubs would shut down for a set period to get holidays in but i'm sure phones will be going just as agents are buzzing about, pick any name from the list of possible candidates & you can bet his agent has touted him to those 5, 6, 7 championship clubs as well as clubs abroad. Player wise i would expect it to possibly take longer to secure top targets, 1 wait for manager if we truely want to be joined up, 2 better options for them, 3 World Cup year & whilst we & clubs around us arn't getting premier lge quality players the pyramid needs movement from the top to filter money to the bottom & that could come after the WC. Players don't usually return from summer break until late June beginning of July & the league starts a little later this year on the 14th August (all bit there is a Carabao cup game the week before) The transfer window isn't actually open until the 15th June & closes 1st September, it's currently 28th May do we want to spend any cash we have on agent fees & wages of free agents? There's a lot more variables to it than waking up going downstairs putting a pot of coffee on & making a deal on the phone, regardless of how many days its been since relegation.
  19. but Gordon If they were paying these sums because they have the money then you would expect a Kvaratskhelia or Diomande (who i thought they would especially go for) both would probably cost another 20m but both would complement with Yamal on the right better & offer more in switching positions during game time. Yamel & Diomande i could see there for years to come being 18 & 19, even if Diomande was 90m, he will be to expense for them in 2yrs time after who ever gets him in the summer, where as Gordon i could see being moved on again in that time for less than they are willing to pay now.
  20. Whilst Rodgers continues to live rent free in a lot of people’s heads due to his wage, Fulham are about to offer Silva a bumper contract that would make him the 3rd best paid (or 2nd if papers still including Pep) & after what, just keeping them in the league 🤷‍♂️ Also giving him greater control over footballing matters and transfers
  21. What’s madness is that it’s Barcelona offering it
  22. Is Lehmann injured & no Draper on bench 😔
  23. This could all just go down to which side adapts to the weather better, it’s being played when the suns at its highest with the built up nature of London trapping the heat in a stadium, it’s going to get messy.
  24. For those previously questioning why we shouldn’t be wary of China and why some of us understand that the worlds not made up of sugar and spice and all things nice. “In his opening remarks at the start of the meeting between Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, the Chinese president says Moscow and Beijing have deepened "political mutual trust and strategic co-operation", according to Chinese state media. Xi said the two countries should assist one another's development revitalisation and should promote the construction of a more "just and reasonable" global governance system. Putin, in his opening comments, said that Russia-China relations are at an unprecedented level, Reuters reports. Relations between China and Russia have continued to improve and now reached the highest level of strategic partnership, he says. Xi says both countries will closely maintain strategic communication and exchange on all levels, and will strengthen each other's support. The two countries continue to strengthen the friendship between their armed forces and to expand their joint military exercises, the statement said. “
