It'll be interesting once the CB positions are sorted either way for sure, but RM did state that Aluko was covering the CB & RB positions on Saturday hence why no recognised CB was on the bench. Flexibility of players will be key now we only have the 7 bench slots, for instance if Aluko starts at RB would JJ make the bench over, say Hamza, we all would say of of course he would/should, but given his flexibility (regardless of inability in each of them) Hamza would probably get the seat.

I'm not sure any player is having a round of golf when training is on, its there for down time just like a dartboard or pool table. Seagrave also houses the Sports Turf Academy so there's the cost of up keep sorted - also it will use bedrooms & other facilities at the site.

What's wrong with having a golf course & what financial burden does it bring?

I would imagine that JJ is getting a slight nod over Aluko in the starting RB position because Aluko is currently also covering for the CB positions, no point risking him getting injured starting at RB or being gassed if he's needed at CB but then can't shift over.

Isn't it the UEFA SCR rules which is hurting these clubs? Villa, Newcastle, Forest & Chelsea all been fined the latter 3 around the 2m mark but Villa were hit with a 22m or there about. Palace are struggling to meet the target for this season & will assume all of Sunderland, Brighton & B'Mouth will sail close......it's wages that will always get you once you try & compete.

Aberdeen had started talks with his Turkish club mid July but finances were a bit of a blocker, then all of a sudden there’s a mutual cancellation of his contract? I wonder if they are still interested & the fact they had shown that interest he might be open to going SPL. As has previously been mentioned sides in championship as well as Italy & Portugal are being linked we can just hope there is a crumb of a connection between him & McC. I do wonder about that mutual termination what’s in it for the Club? edit: Seems he wasn’t getting game time so he wanted out & the club saw a potential to get his ‘high’ wages off their books despite only being there 6mths 🤷‍♂️

I think that opening statement is a little outdated, a lot thinking Lge 1 is still stuck in the 80s. The current league leaders under Jim McNulty play a possession based game as does Luton’s Jack Wilshire with both heavily involving the keeper to start attacks, Peterborough, Blackpool, Leyton Orient & Wigan all play a similar fashion & im sure many others do, even Notts County were playing from the keeper today in parts…we just need to get better at it or hopefully change the 4 players to JJs left

Our best player by a mile today but needs to stay behind after training and really work on his left foot to progress into a top player. If your not blessed with blistering pace you need to be able to use both feet in the positions he wants to play in to stand out from the crowd.

Completely different game & set up, have you seen his goals? Wilshire won’t have 10 players behind the ball and therefore more space

Ooh for sure he doesn't have the CBs to play that & yep it is the 1st game. The idea is sound when faced against a wall that has no intention of moving because you need to drag the opposition out, not sucking eggs as i know you know that, but maybe sometimes you need to play that risky pass (obviously not as risky as that 40sec fec up mind) just to entice them out, if they think they can intercept they go for it but we then need to be sharper on that, give the illusion its missed place then once they bite move with speed...yes saturday i think me gran could have moved quicker up the field but he was having a go at them for that mind & wanted them to be more aggressive & slicker trouble is our players are stuck in 1 gear they need to be able to cruise then go up the gears in seconds, that's a player thing. CB issue we have is that other than Gray & now Nelson because of injury the other 3 are linked away & i think he had Nelson & maybe another new CB to play the role but now does he change everything to suit what we have & just bypass them & lump the ball up to a forward line geared around having the ball at their feet? It's a tough 1 & think its going to be a slow August/September in terms of entertainment until window closes & we know who & what we have to play with.

If teams sit in how will knocking it long be any different to taking it up ourselves, maybe even less effective if they get a head on it and send it back our way anyway 🤷‍♂️ The only way to beat the set ups we will face is to be more aggressive and move both ball & players quicker, find openings & look for them making mistakes & it has to be relentless, this is what RM wants it’s the players that need to make it happen but it’s the 1st game and probably not his 1st 11. Also to not do hospital passes but again this is on players, it’s not all in RM you can’t say counter if they are sitting deep that’s charging.

Ok you say he didn’t tackle or do any dirty work & that’s fine… But he must do something as journalists have him as motm who in the main have no bias or agenda but these things are subjective. Listen I’m not saying he’s the best at it around I’m saying he’s the best we currently have, when Hamza plays the position we know it because 9 outta 10 times we see him cripple someone, make a huge error and we see his hair so we know he’s there just because we don’t notice Skipp it don’t mean he’s gone awol. I said in my opening comment I’d rather he went and we got Collins I’m not trying to put Skipp on a pedestal I’m making a mere reference to the unspectacular nature of the role.

It’s sporting terminology ‘x’ player makes the highlights reel because of ‘that cross, that goal’ that save, that run down the wing beating 3 players etc’ you know the stuff fans talk about after a game but ‘y’ player does the bits you don’t see the dirty boring churn stuff……it’s the unspectacular not a literal I didn’t see it

I’m not going to go through every tackle or pass as I say it’s about understanding the things you don’t see. Look at journalist player ratings and they have Skipp as motm or equal highest with Jakub & Alves where as fans ratings show up as Alves, JJ or Braybrooke but is that because they are young and fans want them to be or for what they actually contributed to in their entire game? Is there anything that really stands out about those 3 that would have you rating them as motm, there were a few good touches but nothing that really springs to my mind in fact the 1 thing that does was when those 3 messed up on the right and allowed Northampton a clear opportunity on goal 🤷‍♂️
