Sadly it'll probably be more of the same & for the next 4yrs the line "well the Tories left the country in such a state........" will continue to be trotted out. I can listen to it for so long but at some point who ever gets in needs to own it, if they try & fail at least they tried if they just sit behind the cluster of the past 14yrs then what's the point.

In a previous Q&A "Enzo says at the moment he’s only thinking about promotion, not beyond, but he hopes to stay at the club for a minimum of 3-4 years to build something special...." Not sure we will get the full 4yrs out of him in fact it could be very dicey this summer with the expected opening of a number of top positions across every major league not that i expect he will put up for but more likely the clubs that require backfilling. He does strike me as a man of his word & would see us having at least 2yrs in the Premier with him if we secure promotion in the summer.

Agree and he probably is 1 that could go on for a while as no danger of snapping a hammy, I think he’s actually got a decent injury record (without checking) If he stays we shouldn’t really be keeping Coady, Harwood Bellis is someone I would have liked before STH got him, so someone like him that’s young but has the confidence on the ball to play the system. I just want to see us getting some of these young talented CBs like France are churning out before the rich clubs just buy and stack them up so they can sell within a year but with rich club added tax or just to keep them away from like minded clubs yet not play them.

Stadium atmosphere thread must be 1 of the most tedious threads in Foxestalk history

As good as he's been he'll be 32 in August this will be his last shot at a decent contract & will most certainly be looking for a 3yr deal, does it make financial or planning sense? Obviously Nelson should be around for a while Faes contracted till 2027, if he does well next season does he look to move on whilst he's in his prime years & chance a 'big' move? Coady contracted till 2026 when he himself will be 33. He's going to be 31 in a few days does he now think if i'm not getting game time do i jump now looking for that last big'ish contract Souttar contracted till 2028 has age on his side but currently not getting game time has a decision to make They are our current CB's just 4 of them with Doyle heading back to Man C & Justin as a hybrid. Just looking at ages you'd think 'future planning' wise we can't progress with both Vestergaard & Coady, if they re-sign Vester then probably means Coady is benched & therefore why have him instead of someone younger. If Coady can do the Vester role then he's still under contract so why re-sign Vester instead of parting ways & maybe getting a younger cheaper options to come up after / with Nelson. Would assume the left CB will be bought in so either Doyle or another of type, bear in mind we still have Justin so those 4 above are fighting for 2 spots. It's certainly a noodle scratcher, he re-signs do you look to offload both Coady & Souttar & get a young CB for near future + Doyle(type) or do you part ways with him & just get a Doyle(type) & then possibly make a change after the 1st season in the Prem where Faes may or maynot have shined? I personally would say thanks & good luck otherwise we are risking stacking aging CBs

I guess he thinks with signing for Benetton from the 24/25 season for possibly 3yrs taking him up to 27/28yrs he will miss any opportunity with either ENG or OZ. It's probably a decent time to jump on the Italian bandwagon for that International experience as they have their best squad ever & a better coaching idea given the wider worldly knowledge of this & the previous 3 or so coaching set-ups.

@Finnegan prepare to be further baffled, he has been called up to the Italy training team with a view to play against the French

main bug bear is lack of effort/fight to chase back, there was 1 passage lastnight where we lost possession by their box & they sped away & i watched who chased back. Winks was up with him but he bust a gut to get back & whilst not blessed with super speed he was on the tails of the attacker, their effort went out for a corner & you see our players all arriving in our box Vardy, Fats, Mav they were all in or just appearing when their effort was struck, Dennis was the last back into our box. I know he's not blessed with pace & someone like Fats is, it was over their 'side' of centre the break went through, so obviously Fats would chase back also but it was the almost give up affect of Dennis well i'm not going to catch him so i'll just jog & whilst yes there was no way he was catching up, the issue is it shows no fight or understanding that if we did nick the ball back he wouldn't be there to offer support. I desperately want to like him as i do believe he is the best technically for that position but effort & workrate are a must in a team.
-
All 3 of the chasing pack will also need to rely on their starting 11s to maintain form & suffer neither injuries nor suspensions, if they are unable to who has the better fringe / back up players as i don't believe any of them rotate that much.

Matty James gets MotM love that

3:0 get in the Robins

All came from a risky pass back as well

yeah a side from Palmer who is the better player of course. I was meaning probably stepping up above their grade/level, if you picked a chelsea team off paper Gallagher probably wouldn't start but his effort in games shows he deserves to currently.

it is a weird 1 did they buy young & put on long contracts with a view to almost showcase these players in order to flip them for healthy profits in the short term or to allow them to grow into a team for the next 6/7yrs meaning they won't have to spend (much) in that period. Issue is a lot of these came with healthy price tags to start with. I don't doubt that given time Poch will have them set as per his idea, on paper there are some really good players there some at the minute just not living up to expectation but they are young or new to the league. Mudryk for example looks a bit of a bad buy but he's only been there since Jan 2023, only actually been involved in 34 lge games & in hrs/mins he totals 25hrs 22mins which is only (& i didn't get an A level in Maths) 17 whole games so still hasn't even played a full half season in a brand new league, country etc etc... can he really be written off already? I don't fall into the Chelsea are done camp just yet i feel Poch will have them clicking in the not to distant future but needs to drop Silva now.
-
I wonder if we see a break at the back with Coady, Nelson & Souttar all coming although granted that doesn't make good reading for the left side. I just think no point risking Vestergaard on this 1 if only just over that niggle give him 1 more game off & set for the run in. Then when does Faes get a break, can see a rest tonight but would mean Nelson needs to be a little braver & provide the charge from the back. Souttar probably stretching it to have him in also when Doyle/Justin rotate

Labour trying a bit of self sabotage with Ali

Gallagher seems to be the only 1 really stepping up in that Chelsea side yet its him that's always mentioned as being the player to be moved on due to FFP risks. Poch really bigged him up after last night saying he wants him & Conor wants to commit to Chelsea, i wonder if its just because his contract only goes till June 2025 so probably easier to shift than for someone with 5yrs left, strange he only got a 3yr deal signed in 2022 or was that a year before they started knocking out the 7/8yr contracts?

Probably find that store tv will be in demo mode which cranks up the brightness and contrast to cope with its surroundings of being in a large bright store, whilst you can replicate these settings they probably won’t work so well in your front room. Also the video feeds used will have a very high bit rate where as the likes of Sky/Virgin Netflix/prime etc although will state 4/8k it will be heavily compressed A blue-ray movie will showcase the tv better than a streamed service but who buys blue-rays anymore 🤷♂️

Where has 4 minutes extra come from, no subs and no looong injury delays??

I watch to much air crash investigation and this picture is not doing my growing fear of flying any good 😝 I know it looks like it’s massive up there but routes are generally run down corridors in the sky & it just amazes me there aren’t more accidents, hats off to air traffic control. I watched 1 episode where a plane had a total electrical failure it meant they and everyone else were blind to each other, how air traffic control managed that, as well as the crew themselves as they knew there was a strong possibility of being shot out the ski. It took a brave crew to continue on their course, they agreed any deviation picked up by other aircraft or any scrambled fighter could be seen as a hijack situation so they continued their planned course to Brighton I think it was & hoped they wouldn’t be seen as a threat whilst they tried to get electrics back. Whilst this was happening air traffic control could see another plane at the same altitude as the ghost plane but going south/north (ghost plane east/west) they predicted that they were 90secs from colliding if everyone stayed at the same altitude (if in contact ghost plane would have been instructed to start its descent) but as it wasn’t air traffic control had to make a call to instruct the other plane to descend hoping the ghost plane was still under control of the crew and that they continued at the last known altitude. The S/N plane drops and then sees the ghost plane cross just above them, it shows real-time footage and man a plane going at 500mph ground speed when your doing the same cross on the same line as you looks bloody scary. Had it not been for those particular crews and air traffic control on that day it might have been a catastrophe. It just highlights the skills required and also the complete trust in equipment (pilots are pretty much blind despite having the best seat in the house) and in each other to keep us safe. I know I went off on a tangent then and probably reading that will scare a lot of already nervous flyers (myself included) but I for what ever reason felt compelled to mention it, probably more to highlight the skills of crews more so than to scare anyone.

How any of them miss the exaggerated movement of the arm is beyond me, this then sets them up for the win as game changes, so a huge moment in the game. It’s no goal and a yellow to Bamford but we can’t want VAR just when we feel like it I guess 🤷♂️ As for commentators this is my biggest bug bear, although this is probably local / official club commentary so it will always be biased but in those premier Lge games when a player goes down feigning injury or by the slightest of touches you then get commentators excusing them by saying “well the defender does put a hand on his shoulder…” or something as feeble…. No! they / it should be called out for what it is, stop protecting these Prema Donna’s and just whinge about refs/var when a lot of the issues stem from the players (cheating)

That’s very true, it was a comedy of errors near the end from both sides, SCO to allow FRA the opening to take the lead in the first place as SCO were pretty much cruising at that stage then FRA for allowing SCO back in. I think this period in the game blinkers some poster to calling that game great and the WAL v ENG poor but tbh there hasn’t been a game yet that has got me ‘off my seat’ so to speak like some of the early WC games did.

No, signed for Hull on a 3yr perm deal in the summer
