  1. Well I don’t think BDCR coming on in the 91st minute was the defining factor
  2. For me it’s a Yellow and not a red but, having said that, I don’t think it’s an awful decision. It’s one of those where VAR shouldn’t overturn it either way
  3. That logic is usually sound unless the alternative is ******g Bobby De Cordova Reid!!!!
  4. The bench is stronger, but I’m struggling to think of a single player in the starting eleven who is better than what we had 2 years ago
  5. I don’t think it’s entirely “clear”, but hopefully that is the case. We already have a better player than S & S in Winks, but it looks like his redemption has some way to go.
  6. Might be too early for James, but I thought now the transfer window is shut that maybe Winks would have come in for Skipp or Soumare. Even without the new players I would’ve thought Marti might have worked a few things out now: Ricardo > Hamza Winks > Skipp Daka > Ayew (marginally) Hopefully the new players will also prove better options than Daka and Soumare. Then we might have a half decent starting line up
  7. Ayew!! I know it might be too soon for Carranza, but I was hoping not to see this bloke starting again. Daka is shite, but at least presses from the front and helps push the team forward
  8. I have, but it was probably about 35 years ago. So I’m not sure it’s a great point of reference
  9. I was in a Turkish barbers the other day, but didn’t hear anybody say anything about Wout Faes. I’m going to a Turkish bath next Tuesday so I’ll see if I hear anything there
  10. Does anyone else miss the days when thread titles were much more succinct and the author could get to the point much more concisely without putting in the title what should have been contained within the first post?
  11. Fixed it for you
  12. 2029 I didn’t know that
  13. I think Cooper was the victim of the overall lack of vision and strategy from the hierarchy at LCFC. He followed Maresca with a completely different football philosophy from the manager who got us promoted. This instantly caused division and resentment from the players. He was also never the fans first choice so really had to hit the ground running. As others have said, however, he was given some funds for recruitment. If he was responsible for the significant investment in the likes of Skipp, Ayew and BDCR then that is a sackable offence on its own. The timing of his sacking was as odd as his initial appointment. We were still above the relegation zone and RvN was a bizarre choice to replace him. (More failure of vision and strategy - see above). I bear him no particular ill will and it will be interesting to observe his career from here. I suspect he’ll be ok organsing teams in the lower reaches of the English structure or lesser leagues abroad, but he’ll be too tactically limited to thrive at the higher levels. We shall see.
  14. It really is annoying! They had all the luck with them in the play-offs when they first went up. They were further helped to stay up with established sides (like us) taking a nose dive. I actually don’t want PSR to catch them as I think it’s insiduous and unfairly discriminates against all clubs outside the elite. If their owner initiates their implosion, however, I’ll be on the front row with my popcorn
  15. I would imagine that he might have had better offers than a Championship club needing a fire sale of all their high earners
  16. Well despite their scatter gun approach to recruitment when they first went up they have actually assembled a pretty impressive squad. I can’t see them struggling even with a new manager for a while and they should finish mid-table. The top man is obviously a nutter but, frustratingly, they’re in a whole better position since he joined the club. They’re as far ahead of us now as we were from them when he first took over
  17. Yeah, he seems to be quite decent to be fair
  18. Keller is an interesting pick because after him we had Flowers. Quite a few people have picked Flowers. I think, at his peak, Flowers was probably a better keeper. But I believe we got Flowers slightly after his peak whereas Keller was absolutely at the top of his game. So, in terms of purely what they did for Leicester, I’d have Keller slightly ahead of Flowers. 👍
  19. I think most people would agree on Monga, but he’s only 16. We have to be careful not to over play him. I think an impact sub is his best role at the moment. It allows him to come on and play with a bit of freedom
  20. Would that be the same Danny Simpson who was convicted for domestic assault? In the context of this discussion I don’t know why we can’t compare, although I take your point that we don’t know what Winks’s application in training was like and what the precise circumstances were
  21. Just the one I think ….
  22. The only position I could actually see Ayew functioning in a team is as a support striker deeper than the number 9. Ideally I’m hoping that the recent signings mean that Ayew is no longer in the team, but I’ll wait to see what the new signings bring. Ramsey might well be the man, but I’m assuming that he’ll be a bit raw. Admittedly I’m coming from a knowledge base of zero in terms of what he might bring.
  23. That’s very true. I’m always a bit conflicted when I remember our time under Rodgers. He was actually a good coach and there is no doubt he knew how to set a team up. The cup win was an incredible high. But his decision making in his final season was akin to criminal negligence. It’s a difficult one
