Yep. That one straight to the Watford player standing right in front of our goal was 100% Only joking - he’s been a great signing for us

I’ve been watching Leicester since 1986 so have seen many different styles of play. If I’m honest the only type of football that excites me is winning football. I loved the way we played in 2015/16 as we had a clear identity and method. It was really amusing to see how teams tried to cope with it. I think this season is probably the first since 15/16 that we have a clear way of playing that everyone can identify. There is a lot of passing, but it’s progressive and you can see what we are trying to achieve. I can honestly say that I’ve never found it boring this season. Like any style sometimes it works better than other days. Against Watford it was interesting to see how much they stood off us in the first half and were reluctant to commit. I think we missed Vestergaard as the quarterback against this approach. I enjoy the analysis of those that study the game and break it down. It’s actually a lot more interesting than a ‘kick and rush’ approach in terms of the tactical breakdown. If we weren’t winning on a regular basis I might think differently but, so far so good, we are!

I’m not sure there are any stats on it and they might prove the theory incorrect Even so, if there was anything on the last game, I’d rather play a Blackburn side with nothing to play for than one that needs to win to get in the playoffs
-
The other thing is that, as you get to the last 5 games, you probably want to be playing teams that are already ‘on the beach’ rather than in a relegation scrap. The problem is that’s it’s impossible to predict who those teams might be. Looking at the table you’d probably say that every team from Cardiff in 14th upwards has a chance of the play offs and every team from Plymouth (in 15th) downwards is in a relegation battle. I’d say that the only team whose fate is fairly certain at this point is Rotherham

Interesting stuff. The games against Leeds and Southampton are 50/50 games that could go either way but, currently, are much more ‘must win’ for them than they are us. In some ways it’s the “banana skin” games I fear more. Win all of those and we’re virtually there and just try and avoid defeat in the six pointers.

Hmmm…. isn’t this basically the “… teams that cannot catch us …” thread, but asked in a slightly different way? Put it this way. If we lost all our remaining games I still think we’d finish somewhere between 5th and 8th, but probably in the top six. I can’t, however, be arsed to do any maths to support this

The thing is that I’m not sure what Yunus is. Is he a winger, no. 8 or something else? At least with Praet, he’s a midfielder, and you know what you’re going to get. I’d prefer Yunus over Praet btw as I don’t rate the latter at all. Whereas I think you would have a mix of some good and some bad with Yunus. I’m just speculating why EM might prefer Dennis

I think that’s the key point. These sort of games where you don’t play great, but win by the odd goal are the sort that get you promoted

Not the best performance, but a win It doesn’t matter what Southampton and Leeds do if we do our job. This is a good weekend

Yeah. I had to Google him. I couldn’t believe that he’s only 32

We do now

Fawanews

That was excellent play

Calling it how it is. Delighted we’re winning, but we’ve not been our fluent best. You’d be a bit of an ostrich if you claimed otherwise
-
Not great from us so far. We miss Mavididi as an outlet
-
Mavididi might be rotation as we play again on Tuesday
-
Nelson preferred to Coady

I’m a natural worrier. I worry about worrying about the next game and then immediately afterwards start with the next one

A golden rule of parking in this location is not to park in front of Vicente Iborra’s driveway. Otherwise you deserve to have your car taken
-
When he comes back is he in the match day squad? If he is then who loses their place on the bench? We surely don’t need three strikers there…

Oh I love a Hawaiian every now and again. 🍕

Winks, Winks, Winks! To football as bright as the stars when they're shining on me! Winks, Winks, Winks! To skills that are as sweet and fine as the fruit on the tree! To the tune of the Drinking Song from the Student Price sung by Mario Lanza …… ….. ….. what do you mean? You’ve never heard of it!

I think that’s where I am. Last season I was “… Vestergaard is one of our worst ever signings”, but after this season I just don’t know. How can you read anything based on a judgement of last season: Amartey ahead of Soyuncu and Jannik, Ward ahead of Iversen, Tielemans as captain etc. etc. Jannik Vestergaard may not be what we need if we get back to the PL, but you can’t read anything into his previous performances with us. Maybe his 72 odd appearances there with Southampton are a better barometer?

9 goals in 53 appearances in the PL, but 6 in 9 at this level. I’m not writing him off completely, but I’d be worried if he was the basket we’re putting all our eggs in
