Not long got in from work, what's the craic? -
Massive thanks to Top for putting a plaster over the self-inflicted stab wound the hierarchy at the club have created. We are truly grateful. No doubt we'll see a very similar statement in 2027 after 2 more years of unfettered incompetence.

We all knew next to nothing would happen. We knew it was bullshit that reinforcements were coming. I'm just wondering if Ruud, being new to all of this, really believed he'd be backed.

I don't think Tigers are any other team English should bother with trying to win the European Cup. Only Leinster can realistically challenge the big French teams. Better off focusing attentions domestically IMHO. The English clubs have a cap of £5million (I think), I read somewhere that Toulouse's budget is €50m.

Last season's Championship POTS, miles off it in the Premier League. Albeit having barely played all season. I'm watching a few minutes behind My sincerest apologies to you, Kiernan.

....and I reckon we're looking in Jan as we may be subject to a transfer embargo over the summer.

Good point. Hadn't considered that

IMHO the 5000/1 story and being able to buy the club that achieved arguably the biggest sporting upset of all-time would attract lots of potential buyers. Apologies if this sounds stereotypical, but I can see wealthy Americans being all over this as it sort of fits the American Dream narrative.

Since the resumption of the league after the 2022 world cup, we've conceded 142 goals in 67 Premier League games. We've had 5 managerial changes since then. The recruitment has objectively been horrific. 3 of that back 4 still play every week. Our XGA has gone from 1.69, to 1.76 and now it's at 2.2 across those PL seasons. We're relying on a 38 year old striker. The team has no structure, no identity and the last two managerial appointments have made no logical sense. I hold JR and Top responsible for this. The state of the football club is surely largely down to the Director of Football. I can't think of a single metric you could say he's achieved success in. I'm not giving the club a penny of my money while this chump is paid to drive the club into the ground. I loathe Rudkin but I am even angrier at Top, he could fix all of this so ****ing quickly and easily.

I swear the whole ball did not go over the line there

The state we're in is the board's fault. Surely you can see that?

My feeling was that appointing a guy with one season as a manager on his CV, and even then as coach of a top Dutch club that is used to winning - that's a strange choice for a struggling Premier League club.
-
I think they'll sack him, because that's what they do when the heat is on them. Ruud will almost inevitably be made a scapegoat for the board's utter ineptitude. Heaven forbid we deal with the actual problem. The same fate will befall the next manager too. Until the day Top either removes his head from his own arse, or sells up....it's not going to change.

Thought it was an odd appointment in the first place. I'm not sure it makes a difference who the manager is, if I'm honest. The club is run like a Vanarama conference outfit.

Best I can say is that I think his style could work well in the Championship. -

Bar the one season at a lower level, I swear we've been conceding at least 2 goals a game for nearly 4 years. -
We concede at least 2 every game and have done since midway through Brendan's time here. We're just so soft. ****ing sick of it
