  1. Yeah, we're well managed in that regard. I guess it's the reliance on only getting 2 or 3 good years out of these players before the inevitable happens and we need to replace them. But then again, if we did dig our heels in, would we then be in the position that you mentioned above with players running their contracts down as us being left with nothing? I guess this is why we're not the ones making the decisions...
  2. I feel the same way about this potential move as I did about Maguire and Drinkwater - I don't think we will be much weaker and if we get a good sum of money to reinvest, we could even turn out stronger (i.e. 35m on a replacement for Chilwell and 50m to spend on a winger / striker would make us stronger). However, i hesitate because of the perception that it gives to the 'top 6'. It looks like we're ripe for the taking and are happy to sell one big player each year which is just so frustrating. The reality is that we're always going to susceptible to these sorts of bids and so will always be seen as a stepping stone. I also don't believe we can keep on pulling it out of the bag with signings that can perform at the level we need, whilst also increasing in value (Maddison, Soyuncu, Ricardo) so this worries me about replacing these big players each year.
  3. Agree with this - I can see him coming in and having a similar impact to Huth / Evans, as he will elevate the performances of those around him. He's got a footballing brain rather than relying on pure pace or strength and this is going to benefit some of our other smarter players
  4. I’ve just watched this back and there’s so many ways you can look at it. Either one of Soyuncu or Barnes could have come across to double up, making it easier for Chilly to cut off the space down the line. Yeah, it does look a bit weak but the cross goes all the way to the other side of the box...why are Perez and Ricardo not getting any blame for not getting out to block the shot...
  5. Since 14th December, Vardy has scored 1 goal in 9 games. In that time we’ve picked up 8 points. This is the problem, without a clinical Vardy firing on all cylinders, we’ve got no other real threat. - Nacho has improved but he’s not at the same level as Vards - PĆ©rez is a clever player but doesn’t scare the opposition (no pace) - Barnes has the potential but seems devoid of confidence and has absolutely no relationship with Chilwell - Maddison’s form has dipped. He seems too concerned with the ā€˜other side’ of football - posing, pissing about with his mates in Dubai / clubs in London. He doesn’t seem to want to graft to become the player he could be Need a seriously good window in the summer.
  6. We’re all going on a European tour (you’re not) A European tour (you’re not) A European tour (you’re not) X2 Dilly dingggg...
  7. Some thoughts, the day after the night before: - we still can’t play Madders on the wing. It doesn’t work as we look so unbalanced. This was proven by the fact that TAA got two assists and a goal, as he had so much time and space - we need more bite in the middle if we’re going to compete in these sorts of games. For me, on current form, this means that Tielemans drops out for either Choudhury or Praet, as he is a bit of a passenger at the moment - we’ve played the top two 3 times and lost 3 times, but we’re still 2nd in the league (albeit probably for a short while unless Wolves get a result). Off the top of my head, the remaining fixtures against the ā€˜big 6’ are: - Man City (H) - Chelsea (H) - Man Utd (H) - Arsenal (A) - Tottenham (A) At home, I fancy us against those teams, and we’re still good enough to be picking off the teams below the ā€˜big 6’ so we are still in a good position. We’ll also undoubtedly spend some money in the transfer window which will inject some freshness into the team. Be positive.
  8. We’re too nice these days. And we’re showing big teams too much respect.
  9. Chilwell and Evans coming out laughing and joking from tunnel at HT doesn’t sit right with me after that first half. Should be coming out focused and almost angry
  10. In fairness, that comment wasn’t really directed at you. It’s more directed at those who’d like to sack him off despite how young he is and now much potential he’s shown. Your points were fair.
  11. This is the PĆ©rez who has been playing in top leagues for 5 or 6 years. Compared to Barnes who is in his first full season. What’s the difference...šŸ¤”
  12. This thread is why I hate some of our fanbase. At the start of the season everyone wanted to give Barnes a chance and now, after a couple of sub-par performances, people want him binned off. He’s in the top 5 for assists in the league and has the most for us. Yes, he’s not been taking his own chances, but on the whole he offers more threat than PĆ©rez, Gray and Kevin. We need to be patient and back him for a bit longer.
  13. The issue is that we’ve become expectant. We’re no longer desperate for the boys to score because we expect it to happen sooner or later and that manifests itself in a dull, quiet crowd. We need to get that underdog, challenger mentality back. Hopefully the next few games will prompt that. No reason we shouldn’t get up for a QF and two season defining games against Liverpool and Man City
  14. Yeah I agree - the title gives this impression that he’s going to be talking Rodgers up as a replacement for PG, but in actual fact, there’s no mention of it until the penultimate paragraph. More of a summary of how well BR is doing and how bad Arsenal are as a club.
  15. Don’t think it will be Marco’s problem tbh...
  16. We need one for Ricardo, how about this - Ricardo, whoaooo Ricardo, whoaooo He plays in blue and white He makes Cafu look sh*te (repeat)
  17. Typo...šŸ‘€
  18. Where Brodgers has really impressed me is his lack of arrogance. He appears to have done away with this idea of playing 2x CDMs and we’re massively benefitting from it šŸ‘šŸ½
  19. The fact that Soyuncu is actually a better player than Maguire makes it even funnier that we held out for Ā£85m with most of that up front. I’ve never seen a more balanced Leicester side. Ever.
  20. Walking off the pitch, making them play behind closed doors or giving them a fine won’t solve anything. All it will do is mask the issues. Fundamentally, it comes down to education. Take the manager as an example - for him to come out and say he didn’t hear it is ridiculous and gives the racists the ā€˜ok’ to do it again. It’s institutionalised and that needs to change before it can be eradicated from football.
  21. This.
  22. I agree with your sentiment, although Saturday’s challenge should be treated in isolation. It wasn’t like some of the other rash, full blooded tackles we’ve seen from Hamza. It was a tactical foul which was unfortunate in so much as it caught Salah awkwardly.
  23. If Maddison is fit, he plays. Simple as that.
  24. For me the midfield 3 needs to be one of: Wilf - Hamza - Maddison or Wilf - Praet - Maddison I think we need to do whatever it takes to get Maddison into the middle and with Youri being off the pace (although improving) it makes sense for him to drop out. Praet also gives us more energy. Agree with your wing choices.
