Great going forward but absolute liability defensively. I’m one of the people begging us to try 352 but that wouldn’t have helped here; he’s in the right position for a RWB but just switched/switches off all the time. I do wonder whether Simpson would have been more aware/vocal than Amartey towards the end. That said, weve got a young team and they’re only going to learn one way. Just wish it was happening sooner.

The thing about him is that he doesn’t have pace so he needs to either really do the defender to get past him or he needs someone to double up with. He’s not gonna get that with Amartey and he’s not gonna get any quicker....another waste of money.

Playing Vardy / Maddison out of position is never going to work. Vardy is not a left winger and is wasted there and so is Maddison. F**king square pegs in round holes If Puel insists in playing 4231, then leave Iheanacho / Vardy out and put a winger on so we’ve got a balanced team. It’s so obvious.

He played well for the first 30 mins. Same as the rest of the team. We went 1-0 up and then stopped doing what we’d been doing

I think the stats will show we had more possession and more chances but in actual fact, the possession we had was mostly in front of Newcastle’s defence and the majority of chances we created were from set plays. Cant knock a 2-0 away win but we will struggle against better opposition unless we become more ruthless and quicker in attack. That being said, 7th in the league is where we would expect to be

This is unfair. When Amartey refuses to go past him on the overlap there’s really not much else he can do than to come inside and play the ball to Mad/Nacho/Vards. Weve been spoilt on that side side but can’t expect him to go and take it past 2/3 defenders on his own

Vards, Nacho and Maddison all look good together but we’ve shoe-horned them in at the expense of a genuinely left winger meaning we’re unable to open the game up. If only there was a formation we could play that would accommodate them all and allow us to keep the width...

Need to get a couple of chants going for him at the next game to show we appreciate what he’s doing and the direction we’re starting to move in

But this is how it should be. All of the players mentioned above are arguably better, more effective players than king for one reason or another. And when you have players like Choudary coming through then it isn’t fair for King to stand in their way either. Sentiment is all well and good but we need to progress year on year and King just isn’t in our plans. It doesnt detract from what he has offered and he will always be remembered as a (genuine) legend but that doesn’t entitle him to a place in the squad.

Last game of the season. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s giving players like Iborra and Gray a final chance to impress before the summer. Hasn’t seemed their biggest fan recently..

Puel, Gray, Silva, Chilwell, Morgan and Mahrez can all get fuched! Either no quality or no endeavour and not good enough if we want to progress. We we went backwards after winning the league and I can accept that as we had a team of players playing above their ability. Be we’ve gone further backwards since then through poor buys and a loss of direction. We don’t know what we’re trying to be anymore.
