Skipp was fine but he should rotate with Soumare. Winks offers so much more for games like this where we’re going to dominate the ball.

He looks ok from the YT highlights but not particularly polished. Imagine he will struggle against better quality defenders but ultimately looks like he probably offers more than Daka (he can stay on his feet) and ultimately with Fatawu, Monga, Mav and potentially BEK, we only need a half decent 9 for this league.

Defending at championship level and prem level are totally different. He needed this season (and now next season too) before stepping up to the prem. Your point above re Faes and Vestegaard equally applies to Nelson. Suspect that Nelson would have been at fault for a number of goals if he’d been part of our back 4 this season.

I don’t think these managers exist anymore outside of maybe Pep and Klopp. They work as part of a bigger team (DOF, Recruitment etc) and so the manager generally doesn’t have the sway that Pearson had. I take the point though - we need someone who has a clear set of principles and standards and has the character / personality to enforce it.

Terrible footballer but to have him playing as a second striker is setting him up to fail. His only asset is his pace (when running in straight line - any change of direction and he falls over) so you’ve gotta just get him playing on the shoulder of the last defender. We’ve got a rubbish team but the tactics are baffling at times.

Appreciate you’ve tried to make this about the squad, but it still comes back to Rudkin. The issue you’ve highlighted is about our bloated squad - this has come about as a result of us recruiting terribly for years, not being able to shift poor players on high wages and have therefore not having had the financial headroom to invest.

Going through the motions. Showing up pretending to play football without ever looking like we have a plan or a chance of nicking a result. Any decent players we seemed to have had have gone backwards and our poor ones have gotten worse. Might never score again.
