Why are people annoyed about Enzo leaving? He’s just going to another job. We can all do it, doesn’t make us cnuts. I doubt anyone would turn down 2 or 3 times their salary to do pretty much the same job somewhere else. Good luck to him. Best of all worlds for us as he would have relegated us with Enzoball. And for those who are marginally challenged in the cranium region, I don’t think Enzoball is rubbish, it is just very player dependant and we don’t and won’t have the players to implement it properly next season. If we had Man City’s squad I’d be gutted if he left.

All this talk of projects is hilarious. The only ‘project’ worth a damn is staying in the Prem next season. This isn’t the time for projects and Enzo’s project would likely have cost us and him next season. Whoever can weld a team together out of those we will have left and any bargain bin recruits we might scrape together is all we should be worried about. Unfortunately our clueless executives and owner will likely want someone who espouses possession again, which really won’t be wise. Still, we will get who we get and that will be that.

Whoever takes over for us is in for a properly tough season. Staving off relegation is the only goal and will likely be a miracle if it can be achieved. Can’t imagine many here turning down double or triple the dosh for doing basically the same job, if it was offered. My opinion is that this works out best for everyone. We get around £10-£12 million compensation (depending on back room staff) and a manager who might be pragmatic enough to keep us up.

Personally think it’s a no brainier for Enzo. Elevates his status massively. Whole of football knows Chelsea are a basket case. He will get better wages and a huge pay off in 6 months when he’s sacked. Deep squad to work with. Chelsea on your CV is better than Leicester. And it’s London - great place to be if you’re minted. He got us promoted. Job done there. We clearly misled him on finances. Just don’t see why anyone would begrudge him or why he’d turn it down - apart from obviously just being a bald figure head at Chelsea.

We will need a manager who is pragmatic, flexible in terms of ideology and game plan and who can work with little or no money. In short we do need Harry Potter.

Absolutely he will and even if he didn’t he would still be an ex Chelsea manager. It’s win win for Enzo. Everyone in football knows Chelsea is a lunatic asylum so it’s an absolute free hit which only has massive benefits. Staying with us is the real poisoned chalice for Enzo.

As you say, any manager worth his salt and yet Enzo persisted when it was clearly going to shit. The club wanting this style of football shows me that there is no one in charge of the club who really knows anything about football. Possession based ideology is actually very good if you have a phenomenal team who can achieve it. Most teams don’t and cannot execute it. The results that turned our season around at the end came, pretty much, from games where we were not dominant in terms of possession but active and aggressive on the counter. His style will work in the Prem, just not with us and our squad or likely squad additions. It will work at Chelsea. I’m not going to wring my hands about it. If I was him I’d go. 99.9% of people would. It’s Chelsea, London, huge club, vast step up, good players in a bloated squad, money apparently and a big wage hike. Basket case club but so is ours. We are run by idiots Top to bottom (Rudkin - because he’s an arse). There is no real footballing knowledge in our Hierarchy. This possession football at all costs is old now. Our best performances at the end of the season came from less possession and more direct thrust. Possession football only works if you have significantly better players than the opposition. We don’t and we won’t. Sometimes you have to be pragmatic. Moyes would do a job. Potter unlikely to come. Enzo would likely be sacked by Christmas - Chelsea is a no brainer for him if it is offered.
