Disappointing in 44 pages of foxestalk that no one is even pretending to be ITK. This used to be a real forum. Bring back the Tinder thread
-
It's harsh on Smith to even include him, he wasn't very good but he had a pretty much impossible job on his hands. I spend £600 a year or whatever it is on a ST and no one has made me want to go to the football less than Steve Cooper. That puts him firmly bottom of the pile for me.

It's not about the squad being brilliant, it's about getting a performance level out of the squad that we have that will sustainably lead to points. We have 10 points on the board and I don't think we could sit here with any complaints if we had 5. That is not sustainable. The management showed no sign of improving the players, or for the majority of the time even any signs of wanting to win football matches. Our squad is absolutely relegation fodder, but with a competent & importantly inspiring manager, we can stay up.

I have recently finished it for the second time. The writing in S7/S8 is, as you say, awful. A lot of hugely disappointing climaxes which had taken seasons building up. However - there was less pressure in the actual story when i was watching the second time, and actually I think it's better on second viewing. Some fantastic episodes (from a production & "action" perspective) in S7/S8 if you can look past the naff writing & disappointing ending.

We need 2015 Robert Huth & 2016 Claudio Ranieri.

The league table.

If Rodgers in 2022/23 taught you anything, it should be that Foxestalk is not consistent with total fan opinion. The fan that brought a big sheet to Brentford had it ripped down immediately, and that's in an away end where supposedly the more 'real' fans are. Majority of fans will look at us as a side that is newly promoted, lost our """"best"""" player, and are on track to a 35 point season. Performance, context & underlying statistics are not relevant to the vast majority, and it seemingly doesn't look as if its relevant to the board either.

Reckon we can sneak another player on the pitch Ric? -
The end of the year is definitely too late. The next 10 fixtures are so tough on paper, but there's a solid bank of 3 or 4 in a row in the middle where we should be aiming to pick up points. The issue with Cooper's way of playing is he'll approach all 10 games with the same attitude - don't get hammered and try and nick something. That is not going to be enough to keep us in the division.

£20 to charity says that any team on 35 points+ come the end of the season this year will stay up.
-
They will be. We're on for a 35 point season. That'll keep us up. Their insight & analysis will go no deeper than that.
-
Palace in the first half was probably as good as we've played all season. Tactically really good. Palace in the second half was probably as bad as we've played all season. Tactically moronic.

Those next 10 games give me serious flashbacks to Rodgers/Smith in 2023. If the board have any sense whatsoever, they'll be sounding out Corberan/Potter/whoever now and getting them ready to come in, should results be poor against Brentford & Chelsea. We've then got four games where either we continue to trundle along in the hope we might accidentally nick a win under Cooper, or get someone in with some ambition & motivational qualities. Leave it any later and all of a sudden we're sitting there on new years day with about 3 more points than we've got at the moment.
-
I don't think he's the man for us, but you have got enormous blinkers on if you think this is the case. Saints & Ipswich are utterly useless, and Wolves/Palace/Everton have a lot of improving to do. We may well go down, but the league is so tight that we're certainly not going to get cut adrift like everyone thought we might.
-
That's fair mate. I think for me, you know a fluke when you see one, and Bournemouth for example was absolutely one of them. I think it's difficult also to look at the Southampton game and not see a fairly decent portion of good fortune was on our side that day, Saints should've absolutely had a penalty and we've scuffed one in the corner in the last min. But as you say - swings and roundabouts, things went Saints' way during the game too. However (And this is just my opinion), I think there are teams that continually seem to get away with it & generate results, despite not really deserving them on the balance of play. The two that spring to mind are United (All metrics would point to them being bottom half of the table last year) & actually Cooper's Forest. Consistently poor but just about scraped over the line in 22/23. I've got no problem with us being one of those teams who seemingly don't 'deserve' to generate enough points for survival, but stay up anyway!

Any comments on the xG on our other win? Or on the xG & xGA in totality this year versus the rest of the league?

Jordan Ayew Signs 2 year deal - Official

completely agree, which Cooper seems terrified of. He'd rather throw on defensive minded players and invite pressure than be brave and throw on players who want to keep the ball. -
His plan is to fluke 7 or 8 wins & hope its enough. I honestly think he's a really really poor manager from what I've seen so far, but at the same time I think he knows exactly what he's doing. Don't get humiliated against the big boys & try and nick the aforementioned 7 or 8 wins against teams that are as hopeless as we are, and hope we pick up a bonus win here or there (As per Bournemouth). It's not going to be pretty but as the points keep coming, I'm leaning towards thinking it's going to be enough to keep us up.

Is anyone else's head falling off at the way fans of other clubs are talking about the situation?
-
I think those who wanted him gone and for us to make a real stab of playing some decent football this year have had their hopes quashed by those back to back wins. History tells us that it has to be inexplicably bad in order for this board to act. It's conceivable now that we could only pick up a couple of wins between now and Xmas and still be competitive in the league table, which you'd assume would be enough for the board to give him the Jan transfer window.

Does the crowd get vocal towards a manager at Leicester? I've not seen them turn unanimously at a home game since being back in the PL in 2014. Having said that, I was surprised at how angry the crowd were at Cooper's inaction on Saturday. Certainly doesn't point to his shelf life being particularly long.
-
His plan is to try and win 6 or 7 more games like yesterday from the remaining 30. Utterly depressing. His inferiority complex is highly likely to lead to us being relegated & as always with this club, it’s just so preventable.

Intrigued to see who he brings on at 84 mins now that Hamza is out.

Those sorts of posts are my absolute favourite. "Look how dumb our manager is !!!!" aaaaaaaaand picks 12 players -
Our best team at the time was Iversen (Gone) Ricardo (Not playing) Soyuncu (Gone) Evans (Gone) Castagne (Gone) Ndidi KDH (gone) Youri (Gone) Maddison (Gone) Vardy Barnes (gone)
