People seem to forget this. Vestegaard is not a crap player but of course he's struggled to fit in so far - I do wonder if Soyuncu's major struggles have affected him. He'll have Evans, Fofana, Amartey and Soyuncu ahead of him and possibly Justin too. Bertrand will be behind Castagne, Justin, possibly Ricardo and Thomas too. They cost £15m between them which is not peanuts but equally they're plugging a gap on the relative cheap and wages won't be daft either.

My "friend" did the same, using an old reference, and this "friend" is planning on doing the same next month when travelling. Although they're changing the rules for PCR to LFT so don't know if the old reference will work again for my "friend".

What's Happening On The Pitch

I would say that it's best just to let him get better in his own time as it's nobody's business but his. -
Hopefully someone can explain what it's about, why it's funny etc. I'm sure it's hilarious, I just don't know what's going on

What's Happening On The Pitch

I learned so much from Nev, working for him at his press agency when I was 16 and then at Radio Leicester. He was old school, hard but fair. We did our first commentary together at Boro in 1993 (when I was 20), the night Walshie got stretchered off. I learned more from him about journalism and broadcasting than anyone else. Hopefully going to see him soon for a coffee and catch up and will pass on the good wishes from those who remember him.- 72 replies

What's Happening On The Pitch

Nev was struggling to keep up with the pace of the action towards the end (by his own admission too) so replacing him as commentator wasn't the major problem. What they should've done was keep him on as the analyst, which he was superb at. Shabbily treated, sadly, after many years of working for them. -

People have principles, I get that, but dropping to your knee for a few seconds, to support the fight for those who suffer discrimination, including a number of your team mates, is not exactly the hardest thing to do. -

What's Happening On The Pitch
UpTheLeagueFox replied to [email protected]'s topic in Leicester City Forum
Not sure we played Cov that much when Nev was doing commentary or reports for RL. I don't think he would've called Coventry "City" when on RL. BTW Back in the early 90s when we didn't do regular commentaries, we very occasionally shared comms with the other local BBC station. One game against Bristol City was especially confusing as their guy kept saying "City" and nobody had much idea what was going on. -
What's Happening On The Pitch

As a listener, I'd rather hear where the action is at the expense of which player has the ball. eg "Norwich in possession, down their right, 10 yards inside their own half " etc instead of "Aarons to Gibson, now with Gilmour, lays it off to Pukki" etc Ideally you want both of course.- 72 replies

Didn't think many of us had Gary Neville linking the Prime Minister and Solskjaer in a tweet on the 2021 Bingo Card !

Comes across really well. Interviewed him a few times and always found him humble. Painful hearing some of the venom directed towards him. Hope he's able to kick on for us.

Brentford 1-2 LCFC - Post Match Thread

Rodgers said that Vardy felt he was okay to start. I like the manager trusts the opinion of his senior players. Of course every selection is a gamble of some sort. -
Cambiasso wasn't THAT gifted when he played for us. Absolutely adore Tielemans but he's still behind Mahrez at the moment in terms of pure skill.

No need to be a prat, nobody is asking for extremes, your original comment was plain daft, that's all. Sounds a bit arrogant and entitled doesn't it. Or maybe they're a bit deluded about how football actually works. -

I take it we're not now driving Rodgers (gone stale, get rid) and Maddison (busted flush, show pony) to Newcastle after the past week, yeah? -
Subs: Ward, Bertrand, Vestergaard, Choudhury, Dewsbury-Hall, Barnes, Pérez, Lookman, Daka.

That's wonderful, it doesn't surprise me though. Nige is a really genuine human being. I wish more people could see that side to him. I'm still slightly terrified of him but I think that's probably a respect thing.

Spending 10 minutes with Big Nige on Saturday really made my weekend. I did keep looking at his trainers though, bit disappointed they weren't big white things.

Agreed. Jordan is an excellent writer.

The word "hate" gets thrown around with regard to Puel. I don't know anyone who hates him. I certainly don't hate him. I was disappointed in his stubbornness and arrogance (especially when things weren't working) and treating players and staff with contempt which turned the place toxic. He had plenty of opportunities to make life better for everyone but chose not to take them. He brought everything on himself. When mild mannered players like Andy King go public and smash him so viciously that ought to set alarm bells ringing in the minds of those who defend Puel. Find it quite staggering he gets defended so much on here. I wish him no harm but don't care whether he succeeds or fails elsewhere. PS I'd rather he doesn't get another managerial job in this country because I pity the reporters and players and staff who have to listen to his boring drivel and deal with his lack of man management.
