  1. Truthfully, seeing how cut throat Enzo is being this summer, he knows how important next year will be and I wouldn't be surprised if he see's something like this and says see you later then mate. The thing with Wilf is, he knows his stock is never going to be higher than it is right now, he is simply attempting to cash in on that with his age which is fine but like others have stated why are you saying it publicly? Keep that between yourself and your agent.
  2. So I have only just got round to listening to the WYS podcast with Guillem. Truthfully, I understand why people find him so annoying when he is making comments like Enzo will take you to europe then does an immediate U-Turn and says everyone's expectations should simply be to avoid relegation as if it was not already. It also very clear that he is leaching off Enzo to keep himself relevant. However, I do struggle to understand why so many people have become frustrated having listened to the podcast. Overall, I found the podcast very intriguing. Guillem gave us insight of crucial moments of the season, which personally as a fan I find very interesting as it helps you understand the manager's management style. He is also giving us clear communication on behalf of Enzo, which as fans we have been crying out for and personally I am all here for it. I know that then leads to people making comparisons to Brendan Rodgers, because Enzo is dictating what the club requires but for me I don't think the two situations are comparable. Brendan's sole interests were those of his own. He wanted to be able to employ his buddies knowing full well they weren't necessary up for the job, Congerton being one prime example. He then threw his toys out of the pram because he had no transfer budget and ultimately got us relegated with a top 10 squad. The difference for me is basing off what Guillem has said, Enzo is not asking for people to be fired, he is not asking the club for complete control, he is simply advising that the people at the top need to start pulling their weight (Something we have been stating for years). He is also suggesting that the club employee more people higher up to ensure the club is ran properly and does not find itself again in the mess that we was/are in. Again, as a fan that is music to my ears that someone is challenging them. Finally, if Guillem is not just talking waffle, it seems that if Enzo stays this year, he is not looking to use the club as a stepping stone, he wants to be here long term and build a club which bit by bit can be where we was and deserved to be. For me, that's everything you should want to hear from your manager and something we have been lacking for so long. Enzo it seems is attempting to build something that not only benefits himself but the club for many, many years. Hence the meeting with the board as he wants to know if they are serious or not. I think people need to relax and appreciate that at least to me, we someone in charge who truly seems like he cares about our clubs future. Sidenote - If Top does rebuild the board room staff, it will be interesting to see how he does. As far as we are concerned he has never built his own board room before, at KP he walked into ownership of a very established and successful team and I would imagine he kept things in place and as we know he has made no changes at Leicester.
  3. Slightly different ones an important player in the squad the other has no importance in the squad, of course perspective is going to be different. I get your last paragraph though.
  4. He was then got dropped for Vards because of poor form after the AFCON and with media/fans asking Enzo why he was persisting with an out of form striker?
  5. Yeah Daka has 2 years left on his contract and was signed for £22m, meaning there is still £8.8m that needs paying off from a FFP perspective. Not much profit to be made on Daka I would imagine.
  6. Enzo has also shown that he does not want Vardy playing week in, week out at his age. I think we will definitely be in the market for a forward.
  7. Completely agree, O’Hare and Barkley are both players I feel we have to target. That position is desperate for depth and creativity, both being on a free seems a no brainier.
  8. Especially with Top’s fixation to operate like Man City.
  9. Perfectly fine with Vesty and Vards getting offered new contracts. It will be interesting to see where this leaves Coady as he will still have around £5m left on his fee from a FFP perspective and can’t see any clubs offering that amount for him. What worries me the most is Rudkin being left to negotiate these contracts, agents will know he can be drained for £££ and if Enzo has specifically requested for these players I won’t be surprised to see Rudkin offer good money to keep Enzo sweet.
  10. On his way to Newcastle I think?
  11. Seems a bit meh from the highlights I have seen, Averaging around 10 goal contributions per season, which for me at that standard as an attacking midfielder is nothing special and I can't see him offering anything in the premier league. It's a pass from me.
  12. Realistically I can't see KDH going to a top 7 club unless they have a need for their homegrown quota. I think we are talking more about clubs along the lines of West Ham, Brighton, Palace etc.
  13. £3m-£4m sale with a 20-30% sell on clause seems realistic depending on wages, or do we think even that quantity is unrealistic? Like others have stated pure profit on FFP and PSR so would not be surprised if the club are pushing for his sale as well as the likes of Kristensen, Soumare and Souttar.
  14. To be honest, I think this system compliments most types of forward. You could have a big bodied forward, who can drop to the back post and head in the chipped crosses we regularly put in, you could have a speedy forward who drops short then runs in behind (similar to what Daka was doing) or have a deep lying forward, who can link up play and drag a centre back out of shape to leave space in behind.
  15. Obvious goal is to avoid relegation, but most importantly for me is to ensure we use the increase in funds to secure ourselves financially so that IF we get relegated again we do not have to panic about parachute payments being signed off to loan companies and we use it to reinvest into the squad.
  16. For me Man City are one of if not the only club that have noticed a loophole in the FFP and PSR regulations. Academy signings do not count towards the regulations, therefore they are pumping money into academy recruits with the hope they turn good for the first team, if not, they are sold for pure profit and count as profit towards the FFP and PSR regulations which gives you more room to sign first team players. Many might disapprove of this as you are stockpiling young players, however, I think it is very smart business.
  17. Isn't the role of sporting director what Edu is doing at Arsenal? If so, I am all for it. Watching the Arsenal prime documentary a few years back, I remember thinking the relationship Edu and Arteta had and the way they strategized there recruitment was exactly what we needed.
  18. To be honest it is about time someone made Rudkin and Co feel the pressure to do their jobs to a good standard, so personally I hope this is the case, just shame it has took this financial situation for them to pull their finger out and maybe Rudkin has learnt the long term effect that ridiculous wages can cause.
  19. He would be my first choice I think, has the passion that the fans would fall in love with and he appears quite a loyal manager. His teams play good football too, he just sets up defensively at times because he does not have the quality of player to dominate. West Brom cut through us recently and for me deserved all 3 points, not many teams have done that to us this year.
  20. I swear I heard they got back together and now they are in some happy relationship? I might be wrong but if it's true that's some messed up relationship.
  21. But think about it, at best he's going to have to take around £20,000 a week pay cut if not more. Spread that across a year, you are earning a million pound a week less than you was previously! I know If it was the difference of a million a year, I would stay put too. It's an extra £5m across the length of his contract. It's the club we should be pointing fingers at for offering such ridiculous contracts out.
  22. I voted yes for Vesty, but the more I think about it, the more I think he might not be renewed. First of all, he is on huge wages and I doubt he is going to take much of a reduction if any. Secondly, another central defender of the 3 is needed. Vesty will get caught out far to much for his pace in the premier league, the two options we currently have there are Vesty and Coady, I personally can not see the club cashing in on Coady a year after they made an investment in him. But to bring someone in, one has to leave, which appears is more likely to be Vesty.
  23. If we were to go for Szmodics this summer, do people see him more as a striker or playing behind the striker in this system?
