If this lot aren't in training running up hills at 9am this morning there's something wrong. Only a handful give a shit. As stated by many - ability doesn't cut it in this league, you've got to have the heart, desire and will to compete and be mentally tough. Very few of our players have those attributes. There seems to be a culture of apathy and that has to stem from the TOP as all cultures do. We are royally screwed with this bunch as last season demonstrated. A thought that occurred to me given the total radio silence on the transfer front and the fact we've not been linked to players, let alone seen any evidence that we are bringing anyone in, is that we already have a transfer embargo in place and the idiots running the show aren't telling us about it. Maybe they're planning on coming clean after the window shuts in the programme notes? Would anyone be surprised if this were the case?

Beg to differ. I don't think the board have a clue what they need to do in this window other than continue the fire sale and wake up on deadline day in a blind panic after sitting on their hands for 3 months. I'd be surprised if we even have targets lined up to bring in. Everything about our recruitment screams last minute.com barrel scraping incompetence....

I can't state how angry I am at our 'senior leaders' within the club at the mess they've made of it all, whatever lens you look at it through - appalling recruitment, out of control wage expenditure, lack of communication and transparency, moving players on. It's a pretty incredible achievement to dismantle everything in such a short space of time, given our position after the FA Cup win - and they're all still here, arrogantly sat there drawing a wage from the club, with no accountability or ownership for the continued failures..... Aware I'm parroting what many of us are saying, but the reality is we are going to get worse before we get better. Feel for Cifuentes in his situation because it's unlikely we are going to recruit unless it's panic last minute loans. He's got his hands tied behind his back. GET KING POWER OUT, GET RUDKIN AND WHELAN OUT

Same players that couldn’t be arsed last season still can’t be arsed, we shouldn’t be surprised to see Soumare ball watching and strolling around, or McAteer taking a shocking first touch. Until there's a turnover in personnel we’ll be seeing the same on the pitch. Given our abysmal recruitment lately, I’d say we’re in deep shit.

I would love a fly on the wall view of what he gets up to day to day. I suspect not a great fat lot. In terms of his outputs from whatever he does they are next to nothing. One player recruited in two windows does not jusitfy his position, not to mention his blatantly obvious inability to move players on at the optimal time. From the outside the bloke seems to be a total fish out of water. Does he have the strong connections and contacts in the game to ensure we trade effectively? Again I very much doubt it. Unfortunately it also appears he has the ear of the chairman....we are screwed. I can see a scenario where we get to the end of the window, having done nothing again, and make a last ditch attempt to get a loan or two over the line....just staggering incompetence.

The owners and board are just so reactive, that's a big part of the problem. All the talk of planning and learning, even stemming from the last time we went down, was clearly just rhetoric. They don't have a plan to recruit. They don't have a strategy that drives the club forward. They don't operate within our financial means, putting the club at serious risk. They do not have the ability to learn from mistakes or admit they even made them. Instead everything is a last minute panic decision according to which way the wind is blowing. The arrogance and contempt for the fans is clear for all to see. We are screwed with this regime, and it looks like the next Venkys to me. None of them should be anywhere near the ground on a match day.

So much for all the planning that Top said they were doing. How long have they had to get their house in order since they effectively decided Ruud was going? What has Rudkin been working on that justifies his wages? It appears that no clear planning has taken place, no strategy exists, and they are just reacting to who is available or interested on a daily basis. Rudkin is responsible for setting the footballing strategy, identity and approach and what we stand for as a footballing entity, which then helps decide which personnel fit into said strategy, both managerial and players. None of that is in place as far as I can see, so what the f**k is he up to? A total and utter shambles.

I'd take anything i could get for him. What he used to be good at, he's not very good at it anymore. His heart isn't in it judging by his strolling around last season. Plus football has moved on. He's not good enough on the ball to be relied upon in that deeper role, so he's a risk. Shake hands and move on.

He should never have been playing at this level. God knows how bad the Austrian league must be for him to have done so well there. Take any bid that comes in for him.

I'd snapped my Achilles two weeks earlier and luckily got a ticket for the match. Had to train it down to Wembley in a massive boot. What a day, nearly snapped it again when the goal went in. Despite the premier league win, probably the single best day I've had supporting us. Phoned my Dad straight after who was at the 1969 final. Priceless. No one can ever take it away from us.

Haha i was also in their pop side among the chaos, i'd completely forgotten about the match and the associated carnage so thanks both for dragging the memory back up! If i remember correctly after it all went off we were marched in front of the stand and Derby were gobbing and chucking all sorts as we were escorted out. They were the days!

So the sum total of his output having had 6 months to prepare for this window is a last ditch swap deal for Craig Dawson? That alone should see him collecting his P45 in the morning. What does he spend his working days doing? Why is he not being held accountable for what is unfolding as a systematic dismantling of our squad? If i were him i'd stay away from the ground next week for his own safety.

I'd like to know who scouted him and recommended him to us. What did they see that made them think he's worth £10m and £50k a week? Another example of why we are in the mess we are.
