Bowling Green have great memories of the only time I really drank lager, in late teens and early 20s. So about ten years ago it was doing a roaring trade and I would go in with pals for 2.50 carling deal. Used to be poured with a massive head but was a great way to spend a midweek night for the grand price of a tenner. It is constantly on the stoneygate site being cited as available. I definitely agree that its downfall is partly a result of changing habits of students, although football and rugby trade must give it a chance still. A concept that leaves me considering what reduced attendances in the future will do to our pubs.

It was hyperbole in response to the hyperbole. But unfortunately I think you’re being serious. Matty James for England? Was he going to carry the water bottles onto the pitch? Danny Drinkwater might have had his obvious faults but he was twice the footballer of James when both were playing at their best. Matty James was lucky to get injured because he’d have been unlikely to of gotten a four year deal otherwise, in 2018. We certainly wouldn’t have won the league.

I will not slag the Beautiful Pub Collective because it is independent to Leicester, a good employer and not a bad place for a stop on a crawl. I was very sad about the Salmon changing internally. However, I am glad the Old Horse has changed hands. The Salmon was unique in Leicester for a horseshoe bar(anachronistic certainly) but also was historic type of pub layout that needed preserving. BCA are standardising their estate. The interior of the Old Horse and its Garden, were a mess. Charming for an odd drink but held no value. As long as it is preserved as a drinking whole, no problem for me. I know it will hold some historic/social value for UFS members. As for Deano pubs. One benefit of living and drinking in the city, you don’t get those types midweek. We don’t do David Wilson homes, velvet settees and white BMWs. Unfortunately, there will be many at the football from the county tomorrow.

Flint Architecture of East Anglia. I remember as a kid being slightly disappointed that my grandparents sold their flint cottage in North Norfolk, for an easy 70s bungalow- obviously not understanding why! It(along with other things) triggered an interest in building conversation and planning, that is now my career. So was a good read over the Christmas period.
