  1. Hearing a lot from ex-players about how it would be unfair on players to punish/ban them from Euros/WC - I’m sorry. If you don’t like it, refuse to sign up to ESL. Nobody shed a tear for players and fans of clubs who had to suffer as their Wigan, Bolton, Bury owners financially ruined their clubs. There will be some collateral damage here - if it were highly paid footballers, that would be acceptable as a scenario.
  2. The lady is away on a hen do that weekend - the stars are aligning for a May 15th madness
  3. Is it just me that thinks this is a smokescreen to make the horrible new Champions League format a bit more palatable and the lesser of two evils?
  4. I often use NG as an example of the type of language we use to describe Black footballers vs white footballers. NGs skills were and are always reduced to the fact ‘he’s got a great engine’ or other physical attributes but he also has an excellent footballing brain and his anticipation allows him to be at the breakdown over and over again. See also commentators describe Declan Rice vs Wilf
  5. So good - fiancée bought me a framed schematic of this goal to go up on our kitchen wall
  6. I think he has his eyes on the record and will be the reason he stays in the PL rather than goes abroad. Man City only real destination for him
  7. How good was NG yesterday - still love him and wanna see him flourish even though he doesn’t play for us anymore
  8. Rhian Brewster still waiting for his first Sheff Utd goal....
  9. Also down here in Bristol - quite excited at the thought of him being in the city TBH
  10. Ndidi, Soyuncu and he have been a massive part in us defending corners and set pieces much better - TBF Brendan did say as much when we were getting criticised this season
  11. If you could choose one of the league, FA Cup or Europa League to win this season, which would it be?
  12. Would people prefer a Man City win thus keeping Everton away from us or an Everton win to keep our title chances alive?
  13. Nothing Nathaniel Chalobah won’t fix
  14. Apologies if already mentioned. I remember being really excited about an Argentinian striker we got off Boca Juniors - Pasquinelli. Lit up my Champ Manager team of late 90s. Did he ever play for us?
  15. Ings would be the one to get - even if it did go against current transfer policy. The issue with replacing Vards would be the danger of having to change the current system which is obviously suiting our best players. Ings represents the best way of keeping the system as it is, at least for a few more years. Otherwise, I think we’d have to go and get two quality strikers - the price of which would be extortionate.
  16. The only answer to this is Danny Ings
  17. Outstanding - Ndidi world class. When everyone’s fit - keep Justin at RB, with Ricky P in Albrighton’s place and position, rotate Evans/Cags/Little Wes
  18. So looking forward to having him back - in that fine line between desperately wanting him in the starting line up again vs not rushing him back. We forget how important a weapon he is in our attacking play - directly creating chances/space for the central midfielders/giving us another dimension - welcome back Ricky P
  19. The FA Cup draw is about to start...
  20. With Bourdain, the worst non-family death in my life. RIP Boss
  21. Great angles on this
  22. A few mates and I have a similar WhatsApp group. A favourite is man shouting ‘put your studs on it!’. No, mate. Put your entire foot on it
  23. Absolutely supreme vs Everton - did everything we know he can defensively and winning the duels but his passing has improved immeasurably, spraying balls left and right to wing backs, and his drive forward for the Vardy goal was Vieira-like - the pound-for-pound best player we have, and the one likely to walk into any big club in the world
  24. Found an excellent ‘When your smiling’ review of 1996-7 - a fun read for people who remember that season
  25. Absolutely gutted - I was in Tivoli today and missed them. Just landed back in Bristol to see the pictures 😔
