Alan Birchenal is 80 today 🎂. Hope he is feeling well enough to enjoy it and celebrate. When I worked at the club I was nervous of mixing with everyone I’d watched from the stands for years. Along the main stand corridor he took a moment to stop and say “Good morning son” which made me feel ten feet tall (maybe he did the same for Ormondroyd and Vestergaard!) A small gesture that made no end of difference to my confidence (until Ali Mauchlen called me a f****** spy due to my detectives coat and notepad)! He’s great around the players and many a young debutant has benefited from his support. And calling out dodgy refs at half time . Best wishes to you Birch

The people who haven’t communicated with us over two relegations are still at the club. The people who have made bad decision after bad decision are still at the club. The people who selected our previous two managers who lasted 4 & 6 months are still at the club. Why do the happy clappies think it’s going to change without a change of personnel I would not let the person / people who constructed the DeCordova-Reid, Vestergaard, Skipp, Ward, Soumare & others contracts set foot in the building ever again, let alone be involved in any future contract negotiations. They’ve heard that we expect better communication yet still nothing worthwhile comes out of the club. Not acting, not performing, not listening, this club barely has a pulse, it’s in some kind of self imposed lockdown, perhaps in a small part due to pending legal disputes over ffp but still explain your decision making PLEASE!

Is it possible that the new manager has made tweaks and changes to how we used to play and the players are still getting used to it? That’s our players, the ones who are traditionally slow to adapt. Add to that the ones who don’t want to be here and the very short time he has had to implement his ideas, can we really expect a run of results so soon? I would prefer him to alienate the ones with either attitude problems or those who are not part of our mid to long term future, that would be my one criticism so far. What does it teach Page when you hand Soumare another start after jogging around lethargically, it’s the wrong method and wrong standards but not the first time we’ve seen that.

I usually start OK but miss the first mid-weeks / Champions League match days and fall behind (getting excuses in early!) Same around Christmas / New Year, I sign up for notifications but find them a bit erratic. Must get in the habit of at least entering a preliminary forecast as soon as previous match day has completed.

Is there a FT super six league this year? I joined one a few years ago and it usually auto-renews I think but it’s asking for a PIN this season I’ve kept a lookout on here but haven’t seen anything.

Yes, we have bigger issues than the roll fillings to tackle but the principal of dialogue and explanation would be a standard to be met elsewhere in the club. Sounds like it will look and feel different when the full numbers return. Regarding the quiet feel and banks of empty seats is this possibly partly down to having no sponsor? I presume sponsors receive a quantity of seats as part of the package ordinarily?
