  1. Heard that Utd might have Mee in goal. City still wouldn’t score if they had Me in goal!
  2. Hi Top, welcome to the forum
  3. As an alternative tonight Countryfile have an interesting feature on Hedgehog hibernation and Falcon migration, the thought of a long kip and escaping somewhere until next season makes me jealous of them. An episode of Call The Midwife would have more pace, excitement and tempo to it than one of our attacks and on Antiques roadshow our first choice CF will have his first football boots valued. Songs of Praise cancelled - we won’t have a prayer.
  4. Yep, as a starting point that shows that if the likes of Bournemouth, Fulham, Brentford and Palace can become established PL clubs then so can we. Unfortunately the gate receipts, whilst useful, even coupled with merchandise and hospitality aren’t the sole income. There’s last seasons prize money, Brighton for example earned a lot more than us and TV money. Then there’s the state of the squads and management staff. None of those clubs have guys like a recent 20-25 million pound signing, a 4th choice ex Liverpool goalkeeper and an on-loan CF all not making the match day squad but picking up bloated wages. Palace did have one but fobbed him off on us . All things being equal, starting from scratch we’re well positioned to become established again based on that table but unfortunately, and what the review should be saying, we have made bad decision after bad decision that drags us back from leaving the starting grid and have players not fit for purpose that no one else will take from us as they can’t / won’t match their salary expectations. Our “starting point” is therefore compromised, whereas other clubs have ranks of hungry, improving players we have Vestergaard, Coady and Winks. The board were apparently shocked at that relegation, thought they’d done enough to guarantee (there is no such thing) staying in the PL whilst we could all see us sleepwalking into it. The review had to call out some of the ridiculous contract decisions and therefore point fingers in certain directions yet those people are still here, still making poor decisions and left us in our most crucial transfer window in our history pot-less with no wiggle room for a player “significantly better” than what we have. Sell 32,000 tickets, have more Hermandsons, Fatawus and El Khannousses than Skipps and DeCordova Reid’s and we’ll be headed in the right direction but we have Vestergaard and Skipp on our books for years yet, you can’t just sack them, it’s going to be worse before it’s better by which time Mads and next summer a fit Fatawu may have gone anyway.
  5. "Oh yes you have"
  6. To be fair that’s a colour graphic. As we know Forests wins were in black & white, the grainy Pathe News footage accompanied by piano music, sped up film and in the crowd row after row of flat capped moustached locals dressed in suits with pipes and rattles (and as for the males, similar). I saw a 30th anniversary of it on Betamax somewhere.
  7. I’m going to have to get a house extension built for the wall chart!
  8. Kasey MacAteer Tom Cannon The lesser spotted Golding has dual nationality David Kelly David Connolly Greg Cunningham (Loan) Damien Delaney Brian Carey Joe Waters Patrick McCarthy Dave Langan (Loan) Jim Holmes
  9. Nigeria - for levels reached with us I’d say Ndidi but Yakubu and Lookman were options
  10. Yep, very steady intelligent CB, read the game well
  11. Tunisia - Benalouane - baldy kung-fu psycho guy
  12. How could we forget - Thailand - Thanawat Suengchitthawan
  13. Athletico - wow, just wow, game on, people still taking their seats missed it!
  14. Belgium - Youri Tielemans except for his last six months where I'd rank a Waffle ahead of him or at a stretch Castagne
  15. El Khannouss for Morocco For Northern Ireland Lennon narrowly over Evans and then Taggart and Rambo Ramsey but you can break it to them, I'm not going to.
  16. For Republic Of Ireland there's David Kelly, David Connolly, St Ledger, McCarthy, Greg Cunningham (Loan), Kasey bless him, several others but I think on-loan Gerry Daly trumps them all.
  17. On loan from Ipswich - Mich D'avray, has dual South African and British nationality, played for England U-21
  18. Norway - Kjetil Osvold on loan from Forest
  19. Hungary players - choice of Laczko, Bori, Futacs, Fulop and Gary Taylor-Fletcher
