  1. Still think that experience will play a big part in his pre match team talk
  2. Believe that BR was manager at Liverpool when they were 3-0 up at Crystal Palace and conceded 3 goals in that last 15 mins to drop 2 points that cost them the league title. He will know better than anyone what they are capable of and their physical style of play. As such he will not let any complacency creep into our team. A repeat of the sort of performance away at Sheff Utd would be just the job.
  3. Brendan Rogers going to watch Burton Albion play shows how seriously he is taking this competition..and i think think players like Vardy and Kasper would love to play in a Wembley final...and what it would mean to Top ...so i think we are going to give this comp 100 per cent this year. Man City will be concentrating on the Champions league..Liverpool on the Premier league...i will dissapointed if we dont at least make the final
  4. Never felt Chilwell is a natural defender..certainly not in the mould of left backs like Stuart Pearce,Julian Dicks etc ... .believe Kasper gave him a bollocking for not closing down for Burnleys goal yesterday...also feel he is too one footed favouring his left ninety five per cent of the time , making it easier for opposing players to close him down. But he has got talent for sure...very quick and often makes the hard things look easy ..keeping possesion of the ball in tight situations for instance..which probably leads him to being underrated by some
  5. Used to love those days ...Elliot,Walsh,Marshall,Prior,Taggart opposition defences knees trembling when we got a corner !
  6. Chilwell seems to play better for England than for us, not sure why...may be he misses Maguire. Only thing i dont like about him though is his half hearted attempts to block shots, could do with taking some lessons from Wes
  7. Its funny how some players seem to be on the same wavelength and some partnerships that you would think would work well just dont...the only way to find out is to play them together
  8. Shelvey and Carroll are both capable of scoring against anyone if they put their mind to it ...hopefully if we get off to a good start they will lose interest
  9. Saw him come onto the pitch at Upton Park and thought why have we got this little kid playing for us
  10. Also he doesnt get as many assists as he would if we played with a centre forward who was more of an ariel threat.
  11. Used to think that for for all his hard work and consistency he didnt quite have the quality that was needed at the highest level...until the Champions league matches v Sevilla and Athletico Madrid...he was as good as anyone on the pitch and better than most
  12. Cant really blame Rodgers for Soyuncu giving away a needless penalty ..and giving Gray his chance was a brave move that didnt work out
  13. I wonder what Southgate would have said had Maddison played and taken a dink penalty in the way he did in the shoot out v Newcastle. Not sure he would have approved. Takes a brave manager to back off and give flair players their freedom on the pitch...ie Matt Busby with George Best and Bobby Robson with Gazza..seems that managers nowadays are under too much pressure and just want players who stick to a safe system
  14. Kasper Ricardo Morgan Evans Chilwell Choudury Albrighton Thielmans Perez Maddison Vardy 2-0 Leicester Perez ,Vardy
  15. Wouldnt be surprised to see a couple of the OHL youngsters coming to the Leicester academy
  16. Andy Lochead...think he was the template for Groundskeeper Willie..hard to believe he works in PR for the Villa
  17. Think they went into it for the prestige involved and would love to have a winner at Royal Ascot... Bangkok has been steadily backed for the Derby...obviously highly rated
  18. Seriously doubt Man City would have him back even on a free... reminds me of the time Peter Taylor brought Ade Akinbiyi from Wolves for 5 million " their chairman told me he was worth that amount"
  19. Ward 5 Nothing to do apart from pick the ball out of the net.. Simpson 6 usual stuff good defensive nothing going forward..wouldnt havent given away a penalty though Morgan 5 usual stuff ..weak defending crosses into the box...aimless forward passes..didnt have any shots to block.. his strongpoint Evans 7 comfortable on the ball again Fuchs 5 lost a yard... Albrighton 6 usual stuff gave 100 per cent...not a right back though Choudury 7 puts himself about .. James 4 hard to criticise someone coming back after 10 months..poor selection by Puel Ghazzel 7 was trying to create something.. no safe sideway passing..good goal Okazaki 3 we have seen the best of him.. Ineahacho 1 his 1 effort on goal was with his shoulder instead of his head...time to cut our losses Gray 5 seems to have lost his confidence KIng 5 one half chance ..like James hard to criticise Maddison 5 tried to create something...fluffed a couple of chances though
  20. Funny the same thought crossed my mind after we had made our 3 substitutions...sometimes its harder for a team to play against 10 men and i would have loved to have seen Puel take him off...why not he was having no effect on the pitch whatsoever
  21. Saw Hamza play last year for the U23 against Spurs U23 and i was distinctly underwhelmed , then saw him play against Many City in the League cup last tuesday and he was a different player. Remember Chilwell this time last year could'nt defend for toffee but now look at him. Lesson to myself..dont write off young players !
  22. Good point...getting perhaps someone towards the end of their career like Kevin Phillips or Tony Cottee...that worked in the past. But people want young players with potential rather than old "has beens"...Jermaine Defoe anyone !
  23. Wallington Benkovic Pontus Muzzy Cottee
  24. Saw both King and Simpson play for the U23 v Spurs...both fully committed...v good influence on the young players around them. Simpson was as strong as ever defensively (albeit against youth team players) but you could see the frustration on his face every time he miss hit a forward pass. Andy King seems to have been around forever but hes still only 29..their chances here are limited but their are many weaker players playing in the premier league
