Always gives 100 percent and never hides, even when not at his best...Brentford got stuck into us in the 2nd half but he was willing to battle ...liked his reaction at the final whistle, could see how much the win meant to him
-
He may be of some assistance in a sudden crisis ..RIP Terry Jones

Agree...at Man U, Ferguson and Keane would soon let the young players know what was expected of them if they let their levels drop..time for the hairdryer BR ?
-
Think quite a few of our players are too lightweight and need to become more streetwise ...Maddison,Chilwell,Thielmans etc...Southampton out fought and out fouled us. A high percentage of their tackles were borderline fouls ..(reminded me of Stoke of a few seasons ago)...but i can understand why, their pride had taken a hit in the 9-0 and they were out there to make it up to themselves and their fans.
-
Be interesting to see what tactics BR adopts in the return leg...in a more open game i would fancy us to win but they may decide to sit back and play on the break again, i hope we dont get sucked into this ..but the longer a stalemate goes on Villa may even decide to play for penalties.
-
I didnt rate him at all...but the guy is strong and knows where the goal is..and not afraid to miss..and he seems to be on the same wavelength as Vardy when they play together..always found that is something you cant predict but only find out by playing together

Bit concerned by the way he reacted to being jostled by a Villa player tonight..looked like he was about to lose it .. Albrighton saw it and pulled him away...fearless defender but he needs to keep it under control -
Agree..his main asset is his pace on the ball and running at defences on the break.....playing against a side that sits back negates this.. his main weakness is his unwillingness to use his right foot ..the goal conceded tonight he should have been trying to clear that with his right foot instead of the outside of his left
-
His right foot certainly is

An incredible decade for Leicester City.

Agree..supporting Leicester is a roller coaster ride..just want to see us win the FA cup now -
Agree with a lot of this...ok Man City/Liverpool were different class to West Ham...but Tielemans and Maddison were poor against them..do they deserve to go straight back into the side ?

Thought Choudury and Mendy were excellent, they bossed the midfield..won nearly all the 50/50 tackles..made themselves available to receive the ball from the defence and rarely gave the ball away...they may have given BR food for thought -

Despite being well beaten, every player gave 100 per cent...but worrying that some players looked very "leggy" considering we are only half way through the season... -
Cant i just say happy Christmas to Wilf ?

Have played Liverpool,Man.City,Man.Utd & Chelsea all away...and have had some debatable penalties awarded against us along the way...reserving judgment until we have played them at home -
Saw him play with the U23 about a year ago...set a good example to the younger players and gave them a yardstick against which to judge themselves. Believe he has a lot to offer re coaching at the academy level
-
Really interesting stats...get the feeling that this might have something to do with Jamie Vardy and the way he has changed his style of play.Whereas before he gave his all from the start,he now seems to be conserving his energy and being more selective in his runs. As the the opposition tire and the game opens up this allows him to prosper. Seem to remember reading somewhere that a lot of our success re finding new players ie Kante,Vardy,Mahrez was built on analyzing their stats ...could be our behind the scene stats team have been working hard again
-
Martin Keown compared him to his ex teammate Viera a couple of weeks ago...cant get higher praise than that
-
Pretty much sums it up. Mind you wasting 25million on Slimani who looked as though he was was brought partly so Mahrez would have a friend to hang out with wasnt the wisest thing we have done.
-
What a team that would have been..Ozil,Sanchez and Mahrez.. the midfield ball winner would have ear'nt his money there
-
He had that ability to "hang" in the air.. Man U fans used to call Denis Law " the King"...not bad when you consider Bobby Charlton and George Best were playing in the same side. I can well believe Man U would come in with an offer for JV,not only does it improve them it also weakens one of their big rivals...and if they offered him a 3 year contract worth say 20 million quid he would have to give it serious thought. He helped us win the title and if he gets us into the Champions league this season,he doesnt owe us anything. So as much as i would be sad to see him leave i would wish him well.
-
Almost sacrilege to say this but JV is the closest i have seen to Denis Law. Cant give him any higher praise than that.

Much as i rate Chilwell going forward he is not a natural defender,to the extent that i think teams are begining to target him now. That said, a defence that has not conceded a goal in its last 3 matches aint doing too badly -

Dont think there is a better goalie in the Premier League ...dont want to jinx him but he really is at the top of his game. Used to feel he should come out and deal with crosses more but these days it seems to be be the done thing for keepers to stay on their line.
