  1. Always been an admirer of Chris Wood ,,,strong, brave and gives 100 per cent...wouldnt be surprised to see him score ...but think we will have more than enough chances to win this..
  2. Kasper Amartey Benkovic Maguire Ricardo Mendy Ndidi Chilwell Maddison Barnes Gray cant wait...
  3. Agree with the earlier post in that i dont know why we brought Slimani when Ulloa was just as good. Would have liked him to have stayed with us to give us another option in attack and was excellent when it came to defending corners.
  4. Seen most of them on the lists live...cant think of any other club in the world that has had so many good keepers over the last 60 years (poss Spurs...Lloris,Jennings,Brown) but Banks and Shilton were truly great keepers. Good to see Schmichael deservedly nominated in FIFA top 3. Wallington my favourite Leicester player of all time. As to who was the best ..i would say Shilton. In the late sixties he was worth literally 10 points a season to us and kept us in the top division single handed, up until 1969 when even he couldnt.
  5. I would stick with him for another season ..hes a great captain and shot blocker..and against the likes of Lakaku,Deeney and Arnoutivic more than holds his own physically..his inability to get off the ground when defending crosses and corners probably his weakest point. But long term a back three of Amartey Benkovic Maguire could be quality
  6. Ward Simpson Wes Soyuncu Fuchs Diabate Choudury Silva Albrighton Okazaki Gray
  7. On what i saw tonight, get Benkovich back from Celtic asap..only against Rosenburg i know but he looked class
  8. I know it was only against Rosenborg but Benkovich looked a useful player tonight.Comfortable on the ball , good in the air and read the game well.
  9. If you play a back four with two full backs that are encouraged to go forward then you need a defensive midfielder who can ease back into the centre back positions thereby creating a back three when the full backs have gone forward..Tottenham have been doing this for about 3 seasons with Eric Dier. ...our problem is we havent a player who can fill this role (with the possible exception of Amartey)... good as Ndidi/Mendy/Choudury are in a DM role they cannot do this ,,but even with this system you still need the other centre backs to have a reasonable amount of mobility to save them being exposed which sadly Wes seems to have lost .
  10. Agree...His performances at CB got him voted into the African Cup of Nations team...but hes never been given a chance to play this role with us. Worth a try. Apart from his moment of madness for the penalty he had a decent game against Man U. If we play Ricardo down the right hand side we need a strong pacy defender behind him.
  11. I just wish Puel was better at communicating as to what he is trying to achieve when using the formations he has ...his english is too limited. But my biggest concern is the way he seems to play players out of their best position. Maguire plays better in a back 3 for England but always in a back 4 for Leicester. Amartey was voted into the African cup of nations team after playing in a back 3 for Ghana but ive never seen him used in this role for us. Trying to get Danny Simpson to play in a more attacking manner was never going to work... Ricardo and Chilwell are both much better suited in a wingback role but Puel keeps playing them as fullbacks Tried playing Gray as a striker against Liverpool rather the Nacho again didnt work. Iborra,Silva seemed to have been sidelined..all credit to Albrighton for his commitment when he he comes on as a sub after similarly getting left on the bench I wonder if the players are getting confused as to what their roles in the team are
  12. Kasper Amartey Morgan Maguire Ricardo Mendy Ndidi Chilwell Maddison Gray Vardy
  13. Mark Wallington Andy Lochead Graham Cross Lenny Glover Gordon Banks Jamie Vardy Steve Walsh Wes Morgan Keith Weller Robert Huth...plus whoever was responsible for signing him
  14. Agree...Choudury,Ndidi,Mendy,James,Silva,Albrighton wont score 5 goals between them this season
  15. Too lightweight for me..great with the ball at his feet but needs to toughen up. There was a chance he could have blocked Liverpool's first goal but he just stayed on his feet (maybe because he would have had to have used his right foot !)..compare this with the way Gomez blocked Maddison's effort on goal.
  16. Chilwell is not a natural defender..great with the ball at his feet but too lightweight. Should have tried to slide in to block the first goal but just stayed on his feet . Look at what Joe Gomez did on Maddison. Send him to train with Leicester Tigers that would toughen him up a bit.
  17. All good teams need their "water carriers" ..players willing to give 100 per cent chasing and closing down the opposition. Brian Hall for the Liverpool European Cup winners, Ray Parlour for the Arsenal invincibles and Sergio Ramos for Real Madrid for examples. Without them any team becomes a "showbiz eleven " with nobody prepared to do the donkey work.
  18. Dont think Liverpool are unbeatable....3 wins but they were against West Ham,Crystal Palace and Brighton (who could easily have got something from that game)... i know we need to treat them with respect but we can give them plenty of problems if we are not too negative
  19. Concerned as to how many goals we are going to score in the Premier League this season ...Silva,Ndidi,Gray and Albrighton wont get more than 10 goals between them, judged on past performance...Maguire and Iborra hopefully 6 or 7 from set pieces.... Maddison first season at this level,we need him to find his feet fast . Nacho depends on how much game time he gets.Once again we might be heavily reliant on Vardy's 20 goals plus...but with no Mahrez to provide for him and fingers crossed he does'nt get injured.
  20. We should be better defending wide areas now that Mahrez has gone, whos defending was almost non existant but the downside is who have we now got to create or score goals apart from Vardy ? Gray hasnt managed this so far and a lot is going to rest on Maddison's shoulders. Having attacking full backs is fine if you have someone to get on the end of their crosses but the Man Utd match showed that we havent got anyone
  21. Never really got a chance to show what he could do here...believe he had a chance to go out on loan to a Champioship club last season but he refused, think that may have worked out well.
  22. Great at defending the front of the 6 yard box at corners
  23. look like Puel wants to play without a big target man (hence no Slimani,Ulloa) thats fine it works great for Man City,Liverpool etc but why waste possession by putting in high crosses that we are never going to win ?
  24. good build up play ..plenty of crosses, corners and free kicks went into the box but we won no headers... so with no ariel threat whats the point ?
