Rachid Ghezzal had a good game for Fiorentina v Lazio

Credit to Graham Potter, set Brighton up well and made them hard to break down. Showed tonight how much we need Ricardo. Maddison has'nt got a good football brain. Vardy teed him up for a shot and the Brighton defenders raced to him to block it. If he had been more aware he would have seen that Vardy was now all alone in the box and should have played it back to him. Dont blame BR for giving Mendy,Nacho and Gray game time. It didnt work but he has to give the squad players a chance.

I think Kante has a natural football intelligence, reads the game so well and anticipates where the ball will go..i think we just let him do his thing in the middle of the pitch Whereas at Chelsea i wonder if he has had his head filled with tactical instructions and this has stifled him

Andy King to leave at the end of the season

Saw him play for the U23 last season..totally committed..what an example to the younger players at 31 he's still got a lot to offer -
When it came to long balls downfield from either the goalkeeper or a defender ,he was the best timer of jumping and glancing them on that i've ever seen. Dont recall ever seeing a centre half beat him in the air. Yet i don't remember him scoring that many goals from headers inside the box.

Dyer v Villa To come from 0-2 to win..Foxes never quit..and what a brave goal from the smallest guy

Agree..and i think it took a little bit of pressure off of the players...they knew they would come away from the season and have something to show for it (champions league spot) ... from then on we might just as well try and win this league as well ! Also think the Norwich away game when CR dropped Mahrez to the bench for not tracking back in the previous game at home to Arsenal...changed our defence system and sent a message to everyone -
Sad news. Condolences to his family and friends. R.I.P.

He realised we had to evolve as a side but probably changed our style too quickly and upset a few people. Teams sat deeper to deal with our counter attacking, we needed to move on. Also lost Kante who was irreplaceable at that stage. Puel also upset more than a few by carrying on this change of style ...slow ponderous possession based football..BR has reaped the benefit of this Maddison ,Thielemans & Ricardo making use of this possession and we are now 3rd in the league . We have also replaced Kante with Ndidi..Doesnt stop some from criticising this style though when they see the likes of Chilwell passing it sideways.

Did'nt really catch the eye..but he was a solid and consistent performer..if Martin O'Neil rated him thats praise enough
-
Had it all..even remember him scoring with a diving header v. Derby

Think Liverpool would have their eye on him...Milner & Henderson wont go on for ever

Think this might have more to do with the fact they have the pick of the crop when it comes the younger players..reguarly taking them from "lesser" teams acadamies -
Wes Morgan has always dealt with Troy Deeney well in the past..by matching his physical presence. So would'nt be adverse to a back three for this match.

We have a fairly decent record against Chelsea over recent seasons..remember losing 1-2 at home to them midweek, in the great escape season..NP played a weakened team against them ,saving some legs for a more "winnable" game at the weekend. Chelsea won the title but i thought we could have beaten them that evening, we led them up until about the 70 minute. But we avoided relegation so NP knew what he was doing!

The reason Newcastle would resort to hoofing it up to Andy Carroll as a Plan B whilst Man City/Barcelona/Real Madrid don't ?...about 300 million quid
-
Never understood why teams wait until the 80th minute to try this ...it may not be pretty football but who cares
-
Think the squad will be well up for this...disappointed to lose out in the League cup semi finals..a chance to atone
-
I believe the only way to find out if they can play well together is to actually play them..partnerships that on paper that look they will work often dont and some others almost have a telepathic understanding and do. Nowadays though, managers dont get this luxury..lose 3 or 4 matches on the spin and the fans are calling for thier heads

Maddison's Louis Vuitton holdall -
It has happened quite a few times to us this season..the home match v Southampton and the League cup semi final matches v Villa being prime examples...its a tactic that quite a few teams use now. foul to break up an attack(but not serious enough to get a booking)..then stand in front of the ball so a quick free kick cant be taken ..then get the defence back and organised behind the ball.. the answer to this is for referees to book players for persistant fouling but it never happens.

Hard to say..hes only played half a game for us in the FA cup v Wigan. But the Celtic fans raved about him when he was on loan there...if he overcomes his injury problems he could be a very good player -
Southampton,Burnley,Norwich,Villa etc..its a tactic that they all employ ...a high percentage of thier challenges are borderline fouls...the pressure to stay in the Premier League is such that any advantage you can get by doing this or cutting down on time the ball is in actual play its something they know they can get away with. The only way to cut down on this is for refs to be stronger and clamp down on it, but as in the game against Villa the easy option for the ref is to just ignore it. Its like the holding in the penalty area at corners..they might talk about clamping down on it but dont build your hopes up. I suspect the the FA like the controversy and subsequent media talk...it help keeps the high profile of the Premier League
