We don’t need to be purely thinking about the style of football when selecting a new manager. We need someone who will get players wanting to play for the football club first and foremost. Our wage bill needs cutting and we need to create a strategy which is sustainable moving forward. This all includes a manager who buys into it and works with the club. Some of the other managers mentioned would use us as a stepping stone whereas I think SD would be in it for the long haul. Whoever comes in won’t change things overnight.

Stopping them winning would be massive for us. Us fans have suffered this season, it would give us a small positive towards the end of the season. I think a lot of the comments from Cardiff fans were knee-jerk following the run they’ve been on and subsequent relegation. Before they were relegated he was getting praised and fans were moaning when he wasn’t starting or got subbed off. Wouldnt read too much into the comments from yesterday. Will be a good squad player for us next season

In an ideal world, McKenna is part of the PL managerial merry go round and these lose Delap, Davis and Hutchinson. Once the loan players go back they are then an average championship squad imo

I’d be keen on Adebayo at Luton. Was impressed with him in the PL last season. Not sure of this seasons story with him but if he’s fit he would be a good option up top. Not necessarily as a starter but we’ve lacked a physical presence at the top end of the pitch for years. Edit. Scrap that - did his ACL in April.

Had a bit of a pre-season friendly feel. All I took from it is that I think we’ll be in a better place than them come 1st game of next season.

Not one signing but the 2016 summer was an abomination. we were champions of England and we made signings that a newly promoted side would have laughed at. we had scouted a then 16yr old Isak, could have broke the bank for Van Dijk (he would have left Southampton for us), replaced Kante with a world class centre mid and signed a relegated Grealish for £20m. This would have been for starters if we were serious. We instead signed a dud from Spain on a free, Mendy (who got broken in his 1st home game) musa and Slimani. Horrendous and undid all the amazing work we did.
