If tielemans does choose another option who should we go for as an alternative? for me, he is the perfect all round midfielder. Hard to find someone else who tackles, creates and scores.

At the start of the season if you’d have offered me 9th place, a great squad full of young players and Brendan Rodgers at the end of it I’d of bit your hand off. admittedly, we could have got 7th if not dropped some points we shouldn’t have but might not be the worst thing. A season for BR to get the squad he wants before a proper assault on the top 6! onwards and upwards!

I have faith that we have a player in iheanacho and even greater faith that BR can get his confidence back and get him scoring goals. the miss against city was a classic example of a chance being snatched at. Another day he takes a touch and buries it. Sturridge would be a great signing to take some pressure off him and help educate him in those situations. lets get behind him, give him support and the goals will follow.

According to my Liverpool supporting brother in law he’s been fit all season and done well whenever he’s been played. not selected at Liverpool due to combination of playing style and this betting probe. If we could get him on a low wage and incentive based contract he’s worth a risk. Was abundantly clear on Friday that we had little goal threat from the bench and he would solve that problem. hopefully BR will ask him to have a word with lallana/shakiri while he’s at it!

Then sign one other CM of an attacking/creative nature. I like Ndidi/Tielemans/Maddison as a three but don’t seem to have anyone who can compete with/replace Tielemans or Maddison. Plenty of DM options to cover Ndidi. Then two strikers. One as a long term replacement for Vardy and one as more physical threat as an option. My knowledge of the foreign leagues isn’t what it used to be but from England I’d take any from Wilson, Mitrovic, Rondon and Austin. Then sell/release Simpson, Morgan, Fuchs (?) King, James, Ghezzal and Slimani

Whilst I agree that he is doing a reasonable job there have been decisions that he has made which has caused a lot of fans to lose faith continuing to pick morgan freezing out Silva and Iborra and only playing defensive minded centre mids chopping and changing of attacking players selling/loaning out two strikers without replacing them signing diabete and ghezzal negative tactics and team selection I could go on...

Should definitely be starting ahead of Morgan. I assumed he was signed as a starter - bit of an odd one. sir Alex named him as one of the best cbs he had at Utd of which he’s had some very good ones. The club probably feel that they owe Wes a starting place after what’s he’s done for the club but unfortunately he’s just not cutting it any more

Let’s not get too concerned about the season ahead based on pre season results. Our 1st team drew with Mansfield in pre season the year we won it. what I would take from this game is that Musa could work in this system (certainly better than diabete) and that mendy can add something to the squad. these are glorified training sessions. I’m confident week Friday we’ll be ready
