  1. Is on the table though. That's another thing, never trust people who drink wine by the glass not by the bottle.
  2. Driving down A50 passed the Glenfield Hospital. Car leaving the hospital so I moved over to the right hand lane to let them merge. The car decided to not indicate and then just swing right over in front of me and I had to hammer the brakes to not drive into the back of them. Serve me right for trying to be considerate.
  3. Cheers Brighton
  4. Sainz really needs to up his game or be shown the door. Been dreadful this season.
  5. Drinking bottled water not table water too. Bin.
  6. Not buying a city shirt with her name on as a gift that's for sure.
  7. Fred Again will be superb.
  8. I've had worse tradesmen.
  9. If only she'd held a position such as Home Secretary...
  10. Imagine a party in government, who relentless accuses the opposition of unfunded tax cuts, doing exactly that? I'm shocked.
  11. I did look but that tariff wasn't available for my Podpoint charger. I also had to join a "normal" tariff of theirs before switching to a smart one which was something of an unknown. I have heard good things about them and maybe when I looked I was still hacked off with BG. With price cap rising today (at least announced) not sure I'll get cheaper than my current deal.
  12. Spent years trying to blag my way onto that course without success. Be great to visit as a spectator too.
  13. Sounds really daft but I have to blow on mine to get it going (no innuendo).
  14. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-67498468 What the actual hell? "The idea had been proposed in recognition of his efforts to stop Derby County being relegated following a points deduction and administration." How did that go Wayne?
  15. Just reading the summary on the BBC and the OBR have said: "The OBR says in its report: "The chancellor spends virtually all of this on a 2p cut in NICs [National Insurance Contributions], permanent tax relief for business investment, and further welfare reforms, leaving debt falling by a narrow margin in five years." and... "On inflation, the OBR now does not expect that to fall back to the Bank of England's 2% target until 2025." and... "The tax burden is still set to rise to a post-war high, according to the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR). It says the largest contribution to that is the freezing of most income tax thresholds, so they don’t rise with inflation. That so-called fiscal drag (the "drag" comes from people being dragged into higher tax brackets than they otherwise would have been - or having more of their income caught in a higher bracket) will net the Treasury £45bn by 2029 and create four million new income tax payers, according to the OBR. Compare that £45bn gain to the cut in the main National Insurance Contribution rate - which will cost the treasury £10bn. In effect, that tax cut is being funded by raiding our paycheques." Economically, there is ZERO good news for next year that they can base an election on. As other said above, in the summer when the small boats cross increasing due to the absolute state of the world, it won't be a good platform for Rish! and his "pledges". Best aim for May when the least worst outcome can be expected. Still, least I can continue offsetting my gaming work PC as "investment in business IT..."
  16. BG are f**ing useless. When I first got my electric car, it'll come as a shock to nobody that my usage went up a lot and my account ended up in debt. Think I was about £800 in the red when the statement came through so they upped it to £450 p/m (no gripes). Since then, all that's gone, the cap has gone down a decent amount and I'm finally on an EV tariff. I'm now £2k in credit and still paying the £450 p/m. The DD changer on the website has never worked for me (shock...). Called them up and they asked me "what would you like your DD to be?". You f**king tell me you clowns, you've got three years of my use and know what the tariff is, tell me what to pay. Sorry sir, we can't do that, wait until your bill that is due 7th Novemember and we'll let you know. Still no bill. What really really stings is I've not found a cheaper tariff so I'm staying through gritted teeth. I know I'll get what's owed at some point but sticks in the craw how useless they are. D**ks
  17. Not sure it will work that way round. Or so I'd imagine
  18. MIL and angel..?
  19. Could tell within minutes of her arriving what an absolute prat she was.
  20. This government..?
  21. Always suspected either/or are on record saying this and it's being held back for pre-election. Considering the abhorrence of it, very little has been made of it which seems odd.
  22. COVID was a novel virus that people were unsure as to how it would affect them. Distinguishing between it and colds and flu was important as we all know how cold and flu affects us and if people are at risk. Granted I'd be surprised if anyone has not had COVID yet and the only people you'd want to test are those who are coming into contact with people who've not had COVID and are in an at risk group. For those who've had the pleasure of norovirus and tonsillitis before, symptoms are so bleeding obvious not sure you'd want to test.
  23. Not to write a pre-emptive obituary of OpenAI, but it does go to show how you can go from "pausing paid sign-ups as too we've too many customers" to potential exodus of your key staff in a week.
  24. Not sure the gloves have ever been on tbh
