Pasquinelli! So pleased someone else was as excited about him as me. And he never played! I had the same feeling about Marco Ferrera? Not sure if he made an appearance us. Portuguese international. Also Ada Djerziri. Think he made it onto the bench for us once.

Ex-LCFC players Jay Spearing starting and James Vaughan on the bench for the opposition. -
Can’t see Gray, Hamza and even Slimani getting any game time as they would then be cup-tied and we are clearly trying to move them on in January. Evans needs a rest but if he does, I suggest Morgan has to play to have that experience at the back alongside Soyuncu/Amartey. Can’t see Ricardo being thrown into this yet as well, hasn’t been on bench yet and we saw what happened last time we threw him from the start in freezing conditions...
-
Also think he didn’t have the best game, a few passes straight out of play etc. BUT really stepped it up in the 2nd half and then that goal. Wow. If he had a little more pace/mobility he would be at a Real/Barca/Bayern type club.
-
Genuinely wouldn’t mind Slimani thrown in from the start alongside Vardy for this one. Something needs to change. Just so difficult watching this team pass around sideways for 90mins without creating anything of note. I can just see this happening vs. Spurs, and them hitting us on the counter.
-
People saying we really missed Evans today, I’m not so sure it would have made any difference. Would he have stopped Richarlison on their left cutting in and it slipping though Kasper? No We’ve been s**t at defending set pieces with or without Evans so I don’t see him changing that. It would have allowed Ndidi to play in midfield yes, but our problem today and on many occasions is lack of creativity. Real creativity creating good chances. Maddison isn’t doing enough of this right now.

Sheffield United (A) Match Thread

I think Perez’s goal is clouding people’s judgement. He’s been OK, nothing brilliant, getting a lot of the ball, and obviously a good finish for the goal. -
I don’t get why when Fofana does it, it’s ‘cool When Bamba did it, he was a “car crash waiting to happen.”
-
Complete 11 change. Whoever impresses plays on Sunday. Ward Castagne Morgan Soyuncu Ricardo Hamza Ndidi Under Perez Barnes Kelechi Some of these are injured but they’ll still do better than the sh*t we had out today.
-
Just looking at the Newport County line up vs. Newcastle in Carabao Cup and saw Kevin Elison on the bench for them. 41 years old!
-
After this performance I’d seriously consider bringing back Slimani, Silva, Ghezzal from obscurity and into the fold as backup players. Not going to happen, I know, but the likes of Kelechi, Gray were so bad tonight.
-
Any chance the likes of Slim, Diabate, Ghezzal get into the team here?
-
If Benkovic is not fit it makes me more certain we will sign Fofana. Benkovic / Fofana / Amartey / Johnson / Fuch - just give Soy and Ndidi a rest!
-
I think what the past 2 performance have showed us is with proper full backs, we can confidently go wide and not look to play centrally all the time. As much as I love Maddison I see us as a better attacking unit without him starting.
-
Major conundrum when Ricardo gets back if he carries on like this. I can’t imagine he will be as effective on the left and he’s already stated before that he wants to play in one position.
-
Has to be wholesale changes. Ward Albrighton Morgan Benkovic Fuchs Hamza KDH Maddison Gray Nacho Ünder
-
Alex Crook also mentioned on Talksport Hamza likely to move to a championship club on loan. This is the Matty James effect again I’m telling you. Every manager we’ve had believes he is the backup CM we need. Then he gets injured.
-
I get it, I do. No fee, already here, happy to play 2nd/3rd fiddle etc. But we Matty James doing the same thing, in the same position. Probably Amartey also. Both behind Hamza and Ndidi for 1 position. I don’t see either of them leaving. Throw in there Knight and KDH and maybe this extension doesn’t make complete sense to me.
-
I really do not see Brendan playing Wes at the back in a 2 with Evans. He’s not good enough on the ball, football is different now to a few years ago. I’m not the biggest fan of ‘playing out from the back’ but that’s what it is now. If Wes plays, which he probably has to, it’ll likely be in the middle of a 3 so the ball is distributed more to the wide CBs to play from IMO.
-
Agree with this. I don’t see there being mass signing. You missed Gray off your list - I just don’t see a club coming in offering good enough money for him. Add to that we have a number of returning loans who for some reason haven’t had great successes and their loan clubs are unlikely to sign them permanently: Benkovic, Ghezzal, Silva, Slimani, Diabate

Watford and West Ham apparently in for Cedric Kipre. Source daily mail

Leicester 3-0 Crystal Palace Post match

Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but can somebody explain how we were able to sub Hamza on? I thought the new 5 sub rule still only allowed 3 opportunities to make substitutions? -
Controversial but: Kasper Ricardo Soyuncu Evans Bennett Fuchs James Praet Maddison Vardy Kelechi
-
Tielemans has been poor for weeks now. Maybe months. Sloppy, immobile throughout the game but how you see him fade even further after around 75mins mark is shocking. Needs to get his fitness sorted this summer, unless it’s some serious fitness issue hence why Monaco got rid. I don’t know if it’s just me, but does everyone else feel much more confident when you see Fuchs on the ball? You just know he’ll make the right pass/movement, especially vs. Chillwell. Which brings me onto Ben. Yes, he’s England’s LB and ‘one of our own’, but I’ve lost the faith. Incredibly one footed, great stamina and pace but lacking that key technical ability and knowledge. imagine having a Ricardo-equivalent on the left side. That’s what we should be aiming for
-
Actually surprised by lack of departures Amartey - isn’t he back in full training now? Not been in any cup squads Matty James - also back in full training but obviously hasn’t played competitively for us in...years? Jakupovic - 3/4 choice keeper now, £2m signing, don’t think he’s ever played for us? Hirst - flopped in Belgian 2nd division, linked with moves but didn’t happen Kaputska - no spring chicken now at 23 Mendy - out of contract end of season but I can understand here why we held on to him
