IF Rowett takes/gets the job I think there are three options: - 1. The performance improves and we stay up - he keeps the job into next season. 2. The performance improves, but we still get relegated - he keeps the job next season as we won't be able to get anyone better and he has experience in League 1. 3. The performance continues to be sh*t and we get relegated - he gets the sack 3 weeks into pre-season and we spend the rest of it trying to get Dyche or Thomas Franck to take the job.

I believe King made several tactical mistakes in the Southampton match, the biggest being going to 3 at the back, which drew on even more pressure. Taking off Mukassa and Daka was also a mistake as they were leading the press, but he may have known they did not have the level of match fitness to keep up the pressure. Finally, bring on Ayew is always, and always will be, a mistake.

The comments about Vichai highlight what this club lost in the helicopter crash. He may not have known much about football, but he was a proper businessman. I can't imagine anyone making these comments about our current owner.

What's weird is that they have replaced their manager within days. Don't they know they are supposed to wait for a few weeks before considering their options then bring in the cheapest option.

Realistic Managerial Replacements

Screwed with most of this squad then. -
I do understand that and I agree that this is the major constraint at the moment. The point I was trying to make was that he should have a knowledgeable and competent Director of Operations who should make informed decisions regarding PSR. Those decisions should not be made by a millionaire polo player who knows nothing about running a football club.
-
I don't think we actually need King Power out. What we need from them is to provide money for wages and transfers, which they have done and to appoint senior management who know how to run a football club, which they have failed dismally to do. Aiyawatt needs to accept that he is not a business man and get someone in who can do the job then get out of the way and let them do their job. If he can't then he needs to go.
-
Sorry, the point I was trying to make is that King seems to be making gradual changes that may improve the side. The problem for me is that he seems to believe he is just filling in while the senior management recruit a new owner. P ossinly if he were told that he has the job until the end of the season then we may see more drastic changes. At the moment he seems to be in a "don't rock the boat too much mode".

Southampton Home - Red Card Sweepstake

Aribo. The club don't realise that he can't play and he gets sent off on 2 mins when the Southampton bench tell the ref. -
It's like they are trying to play in a comitted fashion, but don't know how. They're confidence is shot and they are panicking. Some of them don't want to be here, but are realising that because of their performances no one else will want them.
-
Agreed, but Aribo can't play in the two games against Southampton.

Problem!
-
This is the problem isn't it? We fans have been so damaged by the clubs previous performance that we look at this window and expect the worst. It might be that we have signed a replacement for Wes Morgan, a hard-working centrla midfielder, a young player who will be a standout in the Championship and a winger turned striker who scores a dozen. Instead we expect a permanent sicknote, a worse Soumare clone, an over-hyped youngster and a player who will never play a senior minute! I suspect the reality will be somewhere in the middle but more towards the latter!
-
There was a similarity with Ayew, the way he fell over after scoring the 4th. Although, obviousky Ayew would have fallen over instead of scoring the 4th... or the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 5th.

Stolarcyk Perreira Aluko Nelson L. Thomas Skipp Aribo Page Richards Mukasa Monga Birmingham 4 - 0 Leicester

It seems to me there was no attempt to improve the squad this window, it was just one in, one out for players who have left or who are injured for a while: - Lascalles for Faes Aribo for Soumare Mukasa for James Richards for Ramsey Our management clearly think the squad is good enough!

Wow, that much? -
They probably assumed the window slams shut at 11pm!

30 year old left winger who plays in League 2, sounds like just what we need!

Realistic Managerial Replacements

Compare the characters on that pitch to what we have now, it's heartbreaking. That lot would have run through walls for Pearson. now they can hardly break into a walk for the manager. -

I remember thinking exactly this when Peter Taylor came in. -

Millwall who are pushing for a playoff place? You wouldd have to ask the same question again, why would he want to come here? Previously when we were in the Championship you could have said because we had higher potential and a better budget. That is no longer true. We are a less appealing club than Millwall!!
