It is depressing, but if FFP didn’t exist how sustainable are our finances on a Championship income/budget? Not very. It is hard to see beyond the calamitous cock up of player recruitment and wage structure over the last few years. We paid players top whack who either weren’t up to that level, or those who were realised it wasn’t sustainable and have chosen the run down contracts crippling us financially - but then again it’s the person responsible for authorising signings and wages. No way Vichai would have let this happen and let it spiral out of control. We were such a well run outfit with him in charge, and sadly those who took on top roles afterwards just have not had the vision and foresight.

I have no idea if the players have known this for the last few weeks, but could this partly explain why everyone looks mentally and physically shot to bits?
