I'd take him for the turtle neck and jacket combo alone. Sublime stuff.

Just pisses past Faes like he wasn't there.

Losing to Manchester United at Old Trafford is fine, but this is another ponging performance. Our club fvcking hums.

Ndidi is probably the last person you want in that situation. Its almost as if the guy isn't an attacking player

Flogging the retro kit to death because it's so popular with the punters, but refusing point blank to create a new kit inspired by it for the last 40 years. Weird club.

Binged Lucan on BBC tonight. Absolutely astonishing documentary. Thought it would be just another true crime rehash, but it really goes somewhere unexpected. Definitely worth sticking with until the final act. Can’t say much without spoiling it, but probably my favourite doc of the year.

Arguably Trump's biggest legislative achievement was The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act — which was intended, per Trump, to super-charge the economy yet increased the federal debt as well as after-tax incomes disproportionately for the most affluent. Essentially, U.S. corporations got to keep more of their money, and the U.S. government got less. Economic growth and median wages saw a modest boost at the very most. Much smaller than expected. Policy skewed towards the rich and so-called "trickle down economics" failing like it has pretty much for the last half a century. Colour me surprised.

It very much feels like it's already too far gone. Decades of Tory governance has seen to that. The Conservative party does not believe in the NHS but for obvious reasons, dares not say so. By underinvesting, making the jobs unrewarding and creating waiting lists, they wanted to encourage the public to turn to the private sector. The neoliberal shift in health governance from the 1980s onwards combined with the brutal austerity measures of the 2010s undermined its resilience long before COVID. There's a £40b shortfall in funding that might be a good place to start.

Oh yeah? And what do you know, OBVIOUS US CITIZEN? Big Craig from Glenfield who voted Reform UK because his uncle on Facebook said the earth was flat popped on here to say all the libs are having a meltdown for no reason. I think I know who I want to believe.
-
There's plenty of evidence to point to an ideological gap between more and less educated adults and the tendency of the former to take predominantly liberal positions across a range of political values. At least when I call my University of Life graduate friends thickos, I've got the facts to back it up.
-
None of these big-brains are anywhere near the thread when there's some well-balanced, educated political discourse happening to offer any semblance of meaningful contribution. Just pop in to own the libs. It's so effective.
-
Shhhhh. Don't spoil it for our right-wing thinking friends on here who are busy owning the libs.
-
Because US politics in particular has been turned into a partisan reality TV show. Trump's greatest legacy will be cult of personality politics.

This. Rodgers sabotaged the season to get his golden send off knowing that his reputation would remain intact with the media and average football fan as a result of the FA Cup win and our two 5th place finishes. His team selections. Turning on the fans. Blaming the heirarchy publicly. The guy was desperate for the sack and our soft as shit board didn't even give him the ignominy he deserved by agreeing to some "mutual consent" bollocks.
-
...Unless you're the one who got punched. @Wymsey. Barely warrants inclusion in the Merc, let alone this thread.
-
Given the last time he lost he incited an insurrection, I'd say so. Bloke's one step away from calling for his supporters to arm themselves and march to the White House.
-
So what's everyone wearing to the civil war?

Really enjoyed the original, but it's bleak. By all accounts they've changed the ending for the Hollywood remake but I think the consensus seems to be that it works. Will deffo watch it when it's available to stream.

I went into Smile 2 completely blind. I'm a big horror fan, but knew absolutely nothing about it and fully expected a shit more-of-the-same rehash of the first one. A rare horror sequel that is better than the original IMO. This post was sponsored by Voss Water™
