There are a ton of tutorials on how to do your own set up on YouTube. I've done my electrics loads of times. Wouldn't do an acoustic, mind. You can buy "set up kits" online with all the tools you'll ever need. Unless your neck needs a shim, or the guitar is WAAAY off, adjusting the truss rods, saddles, bridge etc. to get the right action is doable IMO. Once a luthier does a proper set up it should be pretty easy to maintain for years.

His stubbornness reminds me of a certain absolute helmet of an ex manager. Narcissistic sociopath Rodgers got us relegated because he refused to accept that he was wrong. The mark of a top manager is adaptability. His ethos of “we live this way and we die this way” is straight up bizarre.

Rockstar are probably the only devs I'd even consider pre-ordering a game from considering the quality of their output, and even that's not assured given they allowed the release of the GTA Trilogy Ultimate Edition which was a disgrace. I'll wait for reviews to drop. Pre-orders are a big reason why the games industry is such a mess with broken, unfinished shit games.

I went to school across the Northamptonshire border so lots of my friends went out in the town when we were 16, 17ish. Every weekend without fail you'd get some loon trying to scrap with you for no reason. I've never been in a fight in my life, so just used to peg it. I'm too beautiful for that nonsense. My best mate still lives there, it's not nearly as bad but that's only because all of the bars and clubs are shut, and most of the town centre is boarded up.

Around 1990, my folks bought a Christmas CD which they still have. I listened to it every single year growing up. It was always like "when can we listen to the Christmas CD." The CD is obsolete of course but it still exists, reborn on my Apple Music and Spotify as a playlist - complete with album art - simply because the Christmas songs have to be listened to in that order. There is no other way. Anyway, Fairytale I've always found to be overplayed. For me it's Elton's "Step Into Christmas," and McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime" just gives me that nostalgia whack every time I hear it. There's loads of lesser known bangers though.

I actually missed out on the first Alan Wake, it just kind of passed me by. However I absolutely LOVED Control. One of the best shooters I've played in years. I get what you're saying about Remedy. Quantum Leap I couldn't get on with and yeah their games aspire to Kojima levels of absolute nonsense at times, but I love Sam Lake's face. Literally his face. I saw he'd written himself into AW2 as a hard-boiled New York detective, voiced by James McCaffrey (i.e. Max Payne) and for that reason alone I have to play it.

Big shout out to their coconut cousins the Snowball and Caramel Log. Taste amazing but make you and everything within a five-foot radius look like a desiccated coconut-covered disgrace when you've finished.

I had a shit day at work yesterday. Then we found a piece of metal about the length of a 5p piece in our HelloFresh meal, which luckily didn't shatter my other half's teeth, for which they've offered to compensate us the price of that week's delivery... £23.00 And today I've woken up with not one, but two parking tickets through my letter box. Some good fortune coming my way soon, right?
