  1. Voted yes because it feels like we've been waiting for the switch to flip on this for four years now, I just don't see it happening. Admittedly getting scraps of playing time is tough but it's the amount of easy chances he misses that is concerning.
  2. Little Wes with a dig at Arsenal today after his mate Saliba goes on loan to Nice..."finally free"...
  3. For me, Drinkwater and James were both either indispensable to the club or one step below it in our Championship-winning year. They were both great, hard to say who was better. Maybe James shaded it. Anyway I’m glad Matty is playing football on the regular again. Let’s see it leads for him.
  4. Am I the only one that read the "3 weeks later..." notation in the Spongebob narrator voice?
  5. I still rate Tarkowski and think he would flourish with us. Plus we need a plan for when Man United bid $40m to get Evans back.
  6. I was born and lived in Leicester until the late 90's when I moved to Nevada. I used to live on Ivy Road before I moved but prior to that I lived in the Rushey Mead/Barkby Road area for the majority of my existence there. I miss the fish n chips.
  7. Coventry: currently above Forest and Derby in the Championship.
  8. Tielemans has been so quiet tonight.
  9. He's not in either our Europa League or Premier League squads so how much contribution he could make here until his contract ends next year, I do not know. But ultimately he just needs playing time. I'll be interested to see what level he can reach at Barnsley.
  10. Can't we just, like, give him to Barnsley? Maybe they could agree to match the wages of their highest paid player, knock those wages off what we're paying him and give him to Barnsley. I don't see how we are going to get any more for him.
  11. Given how well he's doing it almost forces us to play three at the back because there's no way Evans or Soyuncu deserve to be dropped. Unless, given the fixtures, we rotate between the three and play all three whenever it is suitable to do so. I don't see him leaving anytime before summer '22, at the very earliest. Let's face it, the longer we hold on to him the more he will be worth so two years should be our minimum expectation for keeping a hold of him. The only way I see it happening earlier is if he kicks up a similar fuss to what he did at Saint Etienne to get his move here. Which shows he has that in his locker too. Honestly I think that is ultimately the way it will go down but right now he seems really happy to be here and quite humble, really. Hopefully Rodgers can weave a spell over him to make him stay longer cause he certainly seems to love Brendo. Also, Tarkowski is still a good player. It would be unfair to compare him to Wesley. Tarkowski, in my opinion, is in the same tier as Evans and Soyuncu and would fit in here well.
  12. This season is so weird it almost doesn't matter if you lose, no-one can get any kind of momentum. Just move on to the next game and don't dwell. Anyone could win the title this year.
  13. I know the traditionalists probably hate it but I am lovin these 4-a-day back-to-back game slates. My fitness tracker - not so much. But it is a bit sad that the only weekend that feels old-school is the final one when everyone plays at the same time. It's weird that it almost feels like a tribute to the norm when really, if it wasn't for money, that would still be the norm.
  14. We're going to out-shithouse Villa to victory.
  15. That seems unconscionable given the pittance we pay to watch everything. However, I fear this is a glimpse of the future.
  16. Well, what do you say after that? 2020? 40 points?
  17. You can tell just by watching him that he is very eager to embrace that tactical leader role on the pitch. Maybe with Madders being out it has allowed him to breath a little more. This season his play has been what we hoped it would be when we signed him. Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if there are teams sniffing about come season-end.
  18. I always believed in him but it is nice to be reminded that he was signed as a direct replacement to Kante. Today his performance was in that category. N’Didi will come back in as soon as he is fit but it might not be Mendy he replaces if Papy can keep this up. Rodgers is getting the best out of him. Let’s keep expectations realistic though...he’s going to make mistakes here and there - it’s inherent for the position he plays.
  19. That would be quite fitting to sign a player from the club that Mahrez initially wanted to go in his first strop, to replace him.
  20. Feels like it’s 11 vs 10 right now.
  21. Seems like people are just bored and want to talk about their club. We're seeing every one else signing players and maybe there's some frustration because we'd normally we'd be talking about our own incoming transfers a few weeks before the season starts...not much to get excited about this mini-summer.
  22. I'm not sure what some people are expecting of him. He played most of his games under Puel when he wasn't considerably more shite than anyone else playing at the time and last season in his brief appearances he certainly did not do himself a disservice. In pecking order I see him level with Choudhury, perhaps ahead as I think Rodgers trusts him more, and right there with Praet. I still don't think we've seen the best of him and he should be in his prime now. Let's see how he does with another season under Rodgers.
  23. I thought we already talked about Gray.
  24. Celtic would survive in the Premier League.
  25. I'm not sure I wouldn't swap Schmeichel for Henderson straight up given Kasper's age and if he wanted the move. Henderson is a fine keeper and still young.
