  1. We’d have a chance if they were down to seven
  2. Gonna get v ugly v quickly in Gaza firing 5000 rockets is going to bring a heavy response but actually sending a big group into Israel (and randomly killing civilians) is a whole new level from hamas netenyahu is mainly in office because he is supposedly the strong man of Israeli politics - this is hugely embarrassing for him. So his response will try to put that narrative right.
  3. Knew it! every time we hear a v loud car go past my twelve y o looks at me and says ‘small dick’!
  4. We beat them last week that will have bought him another year based on how we dealt with rodgers
  5. Depending on our points total by then, I wouldn’t turn down £40m. If we’ve accumulated 60 points from 26 games then we’d only need another 10 wins from the last twenty. if the kid would rather move in jan than stay for another spell with us in the prem then let him go.
  6. There are players that we can get in who are not overpriced and are under exposed.
  7. 65. 47. 87 (£m) 87 being this summer. Fair point that these aren’t insignificant amounts. this was across 18 players (where fees paid). Averaging £11m per incoming is a lot better than we were managing
  8. Recruitment next summer (if we bounce back) will dictate everything. Look at what brighton have achieved with excellent recruitment. You don’t have to spend a fortune.
  9. Maybe I confused you - I just think Ricky is better with the game infront of him - coming into midfield and pivoting with winks and having stuff ahead of him suits his game. In the first half he was way too far forward, had to take balls on his back foot and then look to see what was an option - all too busy and he gets quickly tackled. My use of him being played ahead of Castagne was an illustration of this where he’s playing from a standing start more often than not and it didnt suit him
  10. We should have a sweep on which club would actually be triggered by this parody - ‘nowt so queer as folk’.
  11. I mentioned the Ricky thing at HT on the md thread Ricky is a player who needs to be on the front foot - this is why he never worked as a wide midfielder when he was played ahead of Castagne. He needs to be marauding forwards either with the ball or running onto a pass. Static in the midfield during the first half yesterday- he was lost. I wasn’t aware that this was a deliberate tactic though - I assumed he was stuck there because we had the ball all the time so he had almost no defensive responsibilities and was effectively permanently inverted. the cross field ball to mavadidi was the out ball first half. Unfortunately his first touch was not mahrezsque enough which enabled the full back to track across - in addition wilf breaking ahead of him into the box didn’t work because wilf couldn’t cross on his left foot. needed kdh that side as per normal. After kdh scored and we made a couple subs, wilf and Kiernan changed sides. We flowed much better after that.
  12. Did they actually drop retrospective bans for diving ??? (Or was that only premier league ) I’ve just seen it on Twitter and could have been caught - need different angles to be sure
  13. At 3pm on a sunny October afternoon……
  14. such a simple game KDH on the left side of the pitch - goal wilf on the right side of the pitch - assist
  15. possibly to counter what we expected from their players ? we’ve already seen that when Mavadidi drops wilf in that he can’t cross on his left side. Maybe we’ll change that second half
  16. Btw, I assume we’ve discussed why wilf and kdh have swapped sides of the pitch this evening
  17. Ricky is pretty much static in midfield all the time and therefore way too easy to pick up. hamza isn’t a dynamic forward moving player either so I’m not sure how we get around this problem tonight
  18. So much for rotation then
  19. Unless 777 are a conduit for moshiri/usmanov money ???
  20. We haven’t heard the full audio between the var room and the onfield officials so we don’t know for certain that hooper didn’t know when the tech chap is saying ‘oil, oli, oli’, you hear Michael Oliver reply ‘yeah’. It’s not about him but he can obvs hear them speaking or he wouldn’t have replied.
  21. Konur says brighton interested I don’t see he has the technique to play for de zerbi (although maresca is trying to get him there )
  22. I get that but you also have to understand why the protocol exists and this scenario was never envisaged imo, hooper should have stopped the game, gone over to the managers and explained what had happened and the laws/protocols. It would be up to big ange to decide if he was prepared for the goal to be given in the circumstances. He would be within his rights to say no. you can’t ride roughshod over the laws etc but you can ask those with greatest stake in the decision to make an exceptional call. Fwiw, I think ange would have said ‘tough sh1t’ (and so should he be allowed to) but it would have been a clever way for PGMOL to move some of the glare away from their shocking systems and staff.
  23. That was Man U at brighton (and it’s happened in Germany where one team had reached the changing rooms ) that fit into the IFAB protocol. A var check cannot be re opened once play has restarted following that check.
  24. I just cannot see enzo changing his system Mads hamza. Faes. Coady. Ricky Winks Wilf. KDH younus. Kel. Stephy
  25. From my experience, it sounds like the retriever and wife are interchangeable in that set up and you are always stuck with the sliver ….
