Only a year left on his contract we can either get a million quid and pay the difference between what they’ve offered him and what we’re contracted to (which isn’t going to be very different) or let him go on a free and they cover his high wage this season also think that if we ask for a fee then we have to pay a loyalty bonus. so wouldn’t surprise me if the easiest thing all around is to just let him go for nowt on the basis that we don’t have to pay him another penny. there’s no way that he’s worth £2m into his final year - that’s rubbish unless we have to cover a lot of outgoings out of that money.

best guess is that united have told his agent that they want him but will wait until we either get so desperate we take their existing offer or we go broke. I don’t think fees were the main issue at our club they reduce in their value at 20% per year the biggest problem was the wage structure and one person was responsible for that

I doubt any sale wouldn’t include ongoing debts you’re buying a going concern. (Although it clearly needs attention! )

I don’t think the culture issue is a seagrave issue per se. I think seagrave exacerbates it because of the ‘luxurious surroundings’. The culture at the club has ingrained over many years. A culture where players feel they carry more weight than the manager. (And I don’t mean kilos although that’s also true). managers get paid off and may have to sign non disclosure agreements. Also, a manager that ‘bad mouths’ a previous employer isn’t helping to get himself a new position. we saw vardy saying that he’d told puel he was off for a few days when he’d got a three game ban. Despite puel not agreeing, vards went. That’s not a good culture to have. We know that vichai was close to some players. Vichai was able to handle that but Top clearly isn’t. Russell isn’t the coach to change the mentality either. Need a Tony Mowbray type (or a warnock in to bang some heads together - could you imagine !) not going to happen with modern day players and their sensitivities but the mentality problem which has existed for many years remains our greatest problem at the club.

My mate has one and he ended up way bigger than they expected. Fabulous dog - lovely temperament and intelligent. Shit scared of thunder thought ( I’m sure that’s not a breed trait) !
