  1. Well he is a no 10. Nothing from Percy or Tanner though. Seems very expensive if we are looking for a striker as well. I remember earlier in the window it was said he was not a target but a lot has happened since then.
  2. For the first time in ages the atmosphere was pretty intimidating for the away team and for 20 mins or so Spurs looked way out of their comfort zone. I can't remember anything as good as this last season. I'm sure Cooper was impressed. A bit of classic Vardy always helps.
  3. To be fair to Fatawu although he was very quiet in the first half I could see he was doing an awful lot of defending. He came into things a lot more in the second half. Going to be a bit of a transition but very confident in his ability
  4. People will talk about Buonanotte but I was quietly impressed with BCDR yesterday particularly when the pace of the game increased in the second half. Mavididi I guess will be first choice on the left wing but presumably is the second striker until somebody comes in. If you watch the highlights back there was one very nice touch during a flowing move in the second half
  5. Winks has tried to push forward really missing KDH and being bossed. Hopefully try to have a go and show a bit less respect this half. Problem of course is that the more open it gets probably plays into Spurs hands
  6. Thinking this through if he is on £120k per week buying him would seem out of the question unless he is prepared to take a wage cut of maybe a third and a further slice if Leicester are relegated, Not the most attractive option for him. Loan perhaps? Do we think he would add enough goals and assists? Still think we are shopping in the wrong markets unless Leicester have a lot more financial flexibility than is made out
  7. If he remains fit I predict he will do very well. However the club is probably 3 players short in attacking positions and we cannot carry on shopping at top prem prices which still seems to be happening with links to. Nelson etc
  8. I can’t see why Ayew would come on a short contract if he is still getting game time at Palace I’d be tempted to look at Whittaker at Plymouth can play attacking midfield or RW bagged 19 last year and is only 23 so good investment
  9. Skipp has been mentioned as a target all summer and he has been on a few clubs radar. As always shopping in the top 6 incurs a supplement but I truly believe he is quality and Cooper and Winks will know him well.. I think it was Mourinho that tipped him as a future Spurs captain so he obviously has a bit of steel about him. Overall whether this is a good move for the club all depends on what is planned for other targets. I'm not disagreeing with anyone who think the squads is massively short of goal scorers
  10. Soumare apparently wants to go to Roma and there is interest. I don't believe Leicester will have offered £20m up front so on that assumption this looks fine IMO
  11. I like him a lot would definitely take him but still very worried about the top end of the pitch including a more attacking midfielder. Winks should help get this one over the line.
  12. Agree very good post.It is risky and a poor start with a weakened squad won’t help with recruitment. . I’d rather get a couple of top championship players now than wait for last minute mediocre top flight loans on silly wages that won’t be available if we go down. I looked at the Ipswich bench yesterday and it brought into focus just how much we need to do
  13. Chelsea have a squad of about 45 I believe! Wouldn't think Leicester could afford his wages particularly if Zaha is still a consideration. Fortunately Chilwell didn't manage to prevent the FA cup win
  14. Leicester have been shopping as if they are still playing in Europe and players from top clubs abroad won’t come to given a choice. Steve Cooper was professional in normalising the problems but he can’t be happy.Another look at players closer to home like Hamer might be quicker to get over the line IMO we are 4 players short overall . As for the debate around recruiting Okoli there may be logic if he offers something different but was it a priority with finances.as they are?
  15. Very difficult to read this thread . Too much energy has been consumed chasing players in Europe that are not interested. There is still plenty of young talent in the Premiership and Championship to fill midfield and striker roles and give the club a chance.
  16. Percy said Leicester offered 27 million Euros for Fotis. So I just wonder if there is still another option. Of course we don't know what the player wants
  17. Having medical at Forest. 11 million Euros + 5 million ?Close thread
  18. I would have thought the team could line up with players in their favoured positions so Mavididi LW Fatawu RW etc. Seemed all over the place against Lens everyone looked frustrated.. Ricardo and Vestergaard perhaps need to come in. I know about lack of pace but Jannik can distribute the ball well and Enzo kept him for a reason I don't know what BDCR is like as a striker? Like to see Alves and Cannon given a bit of time or maybe McAteer but probably won't happen
  19. I cannot say I'm hugely envious of these signings but new faces with a bit of quality does improve morale. Ipswich do look like they have plans in place and the recruits are all relatively young which should enable them to bounce back if the worst happens. It is vital that Leicester try to do something similar with at least one statement signing to give everyone a lift
  20. Remember seeing Chilwell in a pre season friendly at Mansfield in 2015 and I couldn't get over how confident he was. I think he is a decent player if he remains fit. PS Pre-season 2015/16 strikers were Vardy, Nugent, Okazaki, Ulloa and Kramaric. No wonder we did well.
  21. In the scheme of things not sure that £10 m on Szmodics is such as gamble as his wages would be on the lower side compared to ex Premiership players. Anyway be very surprised if it happens. Would rather spend £10m on Hamer (again before Ipswich do) because I think that central area is a massive weakness and I am assuming Hlozek goes ahead.
  22. Well if Leicester just pick up a couple of players they need to be better than what we have and be creative/ goal scoring or both. Need somebody to strike a bit of fear in the opposition. Hlozek is one and surely an attacking midfielder that can break the lines. Fotis surely too pricey. Be more than happy with Szmodics, Hamer etc . Just want the squad to feel a bit stronger than last year and inject a bit of confidence
  23. Football Insider say Leicester leading race for him.. Tier 4 evidence perhaps
  24. Leicester probably won’t buy him because he is unproven in the Premiership. The Sun quoted £8.5 million plus add ons for goals and survival etc..I’ve been impressed with him
  25. Leicester really need a marquee signing such as Zaha plus a proven CAM and striker. Morale and confidence is clearly low going to be massive psychologically to get this done
