I'm sure we won't be spending £40 million on this guy but I don't think that is the price tag. Maybe Taglifico wants Champions League football you certainly get the feeling that he is not overly keen on coming to Leicester hope I am wrong. You can see this dragging on and the other names we have been linked with are certainly not at the same level. Surprised how slow off the blocks we are this season- I hope Sky Sports are wrong when they say we have just drawn up a shortlist to replace Chilwell - surely this has been in place for a while.
-
Wish him well he has had his critics on this forum Now recruitment team please show us there is a plan in place to strengthen the squad overall. Cannot see where 3 or 4 quality signings are coming from to be honest.
-
I think with his recent injury doubts £50 million is not too bad and there may be more to come in instalments (John Percy Telegraph) Would be nice to get some concrete news about players coming in
-
I agree need replacement lined up before Chilwell goes. I think the lad from Norwich is decent Liverpool were supposed to have offered about £10 million for him that was rejected but should not be too expensive.Important that if we have £40 plus million left over we do invest in a winger striker etc so that overall the team is stronger. We will miss Chiwell's work rate he is a very good player but I think this is probably the right time to sell.
-
Agree nice to be linked with £45 million players from Barcelona but would be happier if we saw real progress with targets from Brentford or Bournemouth as time is short!

This season Kelechi has looked so much better both in terms of goals and link up play. I am surprised the club would sell him on although the fact that he is never given consistent game time and substituted when playing well suggests this might happen.Agree he seems to fade in matches but he is a proven scorer. It terms of Edouard the price keeps going up and I don't know whether £40 million is realistic and how much better he is than Iheanacho at Premier League level?. I think Kelechi in the current market is worth more than the £25 million we paid by the way although I think he only has another year on his contract. Would not be happy if he is sold to Villa on the cheap, Sounds like money is tight if we have to sell to bring another striker in which is a bit of a worry

There was talk of limited entry to games from October but I think this is wildly optimistic I also think there is every likelihood of a second wave of infection possibly not as bad as the first but enough to scrap any schemes that involve more than a few thousand in the ground. Sitting in the stands is only one factor - there is entry/exit /concourses/commuting/ making any noise that will generate an aerosol etc. Having said this I'm sure a small number of fans might be allowed in and the question then is the fairest way to do this. Not every season ticket holder will want to attend depending on age, health conditions and family circumstances and this should of course be respected. I'm sure the club with some up with a fair system allowing a certain number of games in a season and categorising the fixtures etc However I don't think season ticket payments will be going out any time soon. Lets hope for a vaccine by Christmas

Centre Back Possibly another full back Winger Striker No more defensive midfielders although an experienced midfield general like Cambiasso would not go amiss! Most importantly new players must add something to what we have not just build the squad numbers..Hopefully targets have already been identified so we need to move early this time.

Bit worried about next season after the last 10 games to be honest. We just don't look like scoring today whatever the statistics might say. Confidence needs sorting asap or we will really struggle next season and we surely need 4 or 5 quality signings which is a big ask without Champions League money. I'm not sure if the tactics were right or wrong today in terms of holding United until the final quarter and using hard working defensive players.Watching United in the first half they looked below par and nervous so I would say it was too negative.Last week however we were too attacking and open against Spurs of course so there is a risk you stop playing to your strengths worrying about the opposition.I thought Perez was unlucky not to start he is creative and gets the odd goal although he divides opinion on this forum.United fans were worried about Barnes but he didn't get a starting place. How we lost 2-0 is still a bit of a mystery but you could say the same v Bournemouth and Spurs.
-
If Albrighton is fit I think Rodgers might start ahead of Barnes for his crossing ability and defensive quality/work rate.I have to say Barnes or Vardy vs Maguire would be interesting I think Perez should start he has looked as good as anyone over the last few weeks. Presume we are going for a back 4 after a back 3 has conceded so many in recent games? Problem is that even if we went a goal up with a minute to go I would be worried as happened against Watford so I think we will need a couple of goals whilst keeping them out. At least we are underdogs hope that psychology works in our favour and takes a bit of weight off the shoulders.Think of it as a cup game keep our shape and be a bit more in their faces and hope for the best.
-
Most important thing is to start well. If we go a goal down early and the game gets stretched we have no chance. We need to be a bit more savvy than against Spurs when our wing backs were caught way up the pitch and the back 3 were exposed. Presume it will be a back 4 this time so annoying that we have so few choices at the back. However I think United will be nervous and the longer it remains 0-0 the more chance we have.I can see Tielemans or Perez setting up something during the game for Vardy or maybe Barnes will break his goal drought or something will deflect in . 1-0 will do and I wouldn't be surprised if Wolves get something at Chelsea so I draw could be enough you never know.
-
On paper with a depleted squad would say 3-1 to United. However, I've been wrong so many times in the past and we know Jamie usually does well against United. Hoping we can forget about the points dropped, live in the present and really go for it.
-
All 3 goals were very similar with lack of closing down and covering on the right side of the defence. We know Kane likes playing against us and if you give him room he can be world class. We have really missed Ricardo but need a quality defender not to mention a winger and striker before the start of the new season . I'm worried that this poor form will spill into the new season and Rodgers will come under immediate pressure.I was disappointed that we didn't strengthen in January but need 3 or 4 during the summer and we cannot afford to lose our best players either.
-
Would take a draw without a doubt given our record away at Spurs. That would mean a win against United would do very nicely. If we get thumped today it is going to make things very difficult as we may need to win the final match by 2 or 3 goals.
-
Confident lively player who was a threat when he played against us. I think he would be a good addition and will get a few goals as well.He won't be cheap but he is young and I would be in favour. I'm pretty sure the manager will have spoken to Maddison about him.
-
Nice comment from John Percy in the Telegraph that we have cornered the market for left backs. Obviously Spurs and United will be massive tests but he showed huge maturity for his age. Looked like the Blades thought they could exploit the loss of Chilwell early on but soon realised that was not going to happen
-
Kane and Son have a good record against us and we will struggle if the game gets stretched. If we can frustrate them and get something late on like we did in 2016 that would be a huge bonus. Important we don’t collapse like we did against Bournemouth because goal difference may be key going into the last game
-
We do need a leader out there to steady the ship. I think the team has lost self belief and started to worry too much about the opposition and this has affected the manager with more defensive type substitutions as we had at half time yesterday. We need a 90 minute performance and 3 points against Sheffield United otherwise there will be intense pressure on Rodgers but I am still hopeful he can turn things around but may be too late for Champions League
-
Only one goal in it but back 3 not working so Fuchs to come in and maybe Barnes . We have to go for it if we let Arsenal settle can see us conceding another couple
-
Correct me if I'm wrong but given our goal difference 3 wins should ensure Champions League provided that one of those wins is against Manchester United (OK a tough ask) I think 2 wins would be enough for top 5

Crystal Palace Match Thread - 04/07/2020
Edingleyfox replied to StanSP's topic in Leicester City Forum
Look short of belief and confidence agree Palace might snatch this. Need to make changes at Half time -
We looked nervy and worried about making mistakes. The slow build ups and lack of pace is a real concern. We have to take a few risks but when confidence is low it is difficult. Two defensive midfielders did not work and nor did Iheanacho up front although I thought it was a good idea against a big side like Brighton, I'm not sure where the next win is coming from.Starting to really miss Ricardo.Cannot say I'm surprised with this result we often struggle when there is no space against powerful well organised sides. We need a different approach against Chelsea just to try and turn things around - at least it will be a bit more open but not sure we will come out on top particularly with no atmosphere. Hoping West Ham hang on for a point against Spurs but I think looking over our shoulders is going to be the norm over the next 7 games.
-
Tempted to bring Iheanacho in alongside Vardy. Brighton are quite a big side and Vardy on his own might struggle if they park the bus and play on the break. We have seen this so many times against struggling but physical sides.Gray deserves to start even though he can be inconsistent.Would like to see quicker movement more chances created and goals of course.Very tough run in to say the least so we need the confidence boost of a win.

Very fair as you would expect from this excellent club

Lord Alan Sugar, a former chairman of Tottenham, has said Liverpool should be declared Premier League champions if the season is suspended. Sugar also says the top four should be given the Champions League spots. That would also include Manchester City, Leicester and Chelsea - although Man City are currently appealing a ban excluding them from European football next season. Who would be fifth, and therefore take City's place if they remain banned, would be hugely controversial.
