  1. I'm expecting some excuse along the lines of he meant the IDF as an entity. He feels it should be disbanded and reformed as something along the lines of, The Israeli Home army. A total 'rebranding'. Bollox, I know.
  2. I have it on good authority that they now treat the pitch with this.......
  3. Great news, you've won a few million Oh, hang on. Sorry, our mistake. No you haven't
  4. Break lights certainly do. As my wife drove to the end of our driveway the other day, I noticed one was dead. When she returned from her trip I set about replacing it. Before going onto the next stage of my story, you need to know that my wife drives far more than I and for almost as many years. To check all was well afterwards, I called her out to test it. You get in the car whilst I check the light comes on, I asked. She sat in the drivers seat and asked what she wanted me to do. 'Press the break pedal' I asked. 'Which ones that?' She replied.
  5. Local stalking case making national news.
  6. There's deep fake and then there's downright preposterous.
  7. Wonder how they would arrange something like that now, with so many different genders identities?
  8. Whilst shaving in the mornings, I'll often notice an hair, about 5mm long, growing out from the top of ear. I'm sure it wasn't there the night before. How come that can grow, and in other unwanted places too, but I'm getting thinner and thinner on top?
  9. Even some of the players didn't want to travel to Leicester.
  10. My sister did this and was quite good at it, so-much-so that friends would ask her to do handwritten wedding invites and such. It became a little cottage industry for her.
  11. Twist and Shout.
  12. I still have one however, like yours, one of the pieces are missing.
  13. Only used Ainleys as an absolute last resort. It was the only shop I've known that had a blatant policy of; the customer is always wrong. I guess most of us from the 'vinyl' era needed to take a record back because of it jumping or whatever. Well, it was a nightmare at that shop. They never accepted the customers word and would interrogate you about your equipment and look at the disc itself closely, looking for the fault. The wife of a chap I worked with once tried to return one and they made her listen to the offending track play, without jumping, on the instore record player. They refused to replace it. I think they must have had the tone arm weighed down with a brick, because it jumped on other folks systems. They also started putting signs on the record racks stating, they reckoned, that a vast majority of faulty records weren't faulty at all, it was down to the customer. Awful shop.
  14. I witnessed a guy parked outside some shops, who was probably in his 50s, wind his window down and throw several lottery cards out. Obviously not winning ones. I asked him if that was necessary, especially as there was several bins just yards away. He looked at me with surprise and pointed out that the area had some litter anyway. I said yes, because of people like you. I then received the customary 'F off' response and away he drove.
  15. You wait until you're older, you'll have this decision to make nightly and more than once if you're unlucky.
  16. I always planned to reduce my working week in the 3 years upto retirement. I believed it was a good idea to gradually reduce from full time so as to acclimatise to no longer working. It worked a treat for me. You may not be wishing to reduce for the same reasons but I have the T shirt as it were, so my experience may be of use. I kept my full-time hours but compressed them into four days then, after a year, I reduced my hours to 4 days but compressed them into 3 working days. Crucially, I felt, the days I did work were consecutive so none of this stop/starting throughout the week. In essence, I had a 4 day weekend every week - it was fabulous and I was still getting 4 days pay. My line was Social Work BTW.
  17. Season ticket holder. I hope he never has the nerve to complain about his seat.
  18. I think by any metric you care to employ, that side of the city, that borders on the Blaby district has had enough - more than enough - development in recent times. Blaby District too, has had some huge new developments meaning, that if you ignore the different authorities and just look at it from a general overall area - which is what nature/wildlife and the general environment would see it as, it is being way over burdened. As well as major new housing estates, there has been lots of retail and commercial buildings - including one waste site plus another proposed, plus lots of smaller housing schemes too. Then, if you look at the major roadways in the area including the M1 and a couple of its junctions as well as the A46 and others, it seems clear to me that LCC and Blaby District have written the area off regarding green breathing spaces. I think it's borderline scandalous.
  19. Serious question but knowing FT, there will be some whimsical replies. Anyway, our little collective of players have now reduced further in number to just 3. As we tend to play doubles, you can see the problem. We usually play once a week over the winter at Knighton Tennis club and quite often during the summer months at Western Park or other local parks. We are mostly in our 50s & 60s and although our ability means we won't be troubling the LTA seniors tour, our games are quite athletic and a great way to keep fit. So, if you are tempted, send me a message and perhaps arrange for you to come along one evening to see if its for you - the days can be flexible.

  21. For sometime before I couldn't continue, you would receive a notification as to which hospital your donation had gone to. I always appreciated that info, non moreso than when it had gone to a children's hospital. Gosh, it made me feel good.
  22. Indeed. You may have seen this in the news today and yes, please consider donating if you possibly can. After many years of donating, I had to stop because of medication I had been prescribed. There's a chance I'll no longer need some of this med following an operation and if that's the case one of the first things I'll do is see if I can restart my donations. If you have no such barriers please do consider donating. As I've said before, the most uncomfortable part is taking the plaster off your arm a few hours later.
