Didn't the war end before the 45/46 season?

LCFC since 1995: won the top 3 tiers, 2 league cups, Community Shield had 4 promotions, 4 relegations, won a play-off with the last kick of the domestic season, lost another to one of the most iconic goals of modern times and got there with the last kick of our league season. Nearly went bust, joined the nouveau riche, reached the 1/4 finals of the UCL and 1/2 final of the Conference League. Everton: stayed up, that's it, for 28 years!

Not that clever if the players prove to be poor signings which to some extent they already have. The amortisation means they've already spent a lot of their available transfer budget up to 2029 and players on big wages amd long contracts will be difficult to shift. I wouldn't be surprised to see Chelsea collapse over the next few years.

Edit: on reflection the post was dull

It depends what you define as seeing the job through. He won 2 trophies and established us as PL club. Can't really begrudge him going to his boyhood club.

As long as he doesn't come on

Not as good as Elvis Hammond

His first touch is hideous, backs out of challenges, painfully slow, poor decision maker and a mediocre finisher.

I wonder if there's someone called Wigstonpilgrim on Plymouthtalk predicting they'll muller Leicester because of their far superior football?

I think the refs have got enough on without massively subjective calls like this.

The way referees are treated by fans, media and those directly involved in the game is a disgrace and filters down to grass roots where there are some appalling stories. Whatever the future, or lack of, for VAR, we all need to take a good look in the mirror because with every bit of abuse aimed at officials the talent pool decreases. Everybody makes mistakes and we have to accept them and move on. My vote was to go with on field decisions for what it's worth.

But you'll have to go past Middlesbrough to get to Hartlepool, why the hell would you do that?

Parking in Darlington and getting a train (£6 return) is an idea.
