Lovely idea but nobody wants them anymore than we do. Winks will earn circa £2.5m from Jan to the end of his contract in June, his current market rate will need a good 2 seasons to get him that. By that point he’ll be 31 and he’s on a rapid decline as it is. From his POV it would be massively counterproductive to do that. The same can be said for Faes, Vesty and Daka. The situation with Skipp is considerably worse.

Scott has Down’s syndrome and terminal dementia, many of you will have seen him at games (the photo is of him in Lisbon before the Porto game). His mum passed away in August and his carers have, effectively become his parents with very little financial support. Next year will, most likely, be the last time he can have a meaningful holiday before the dementia really takes hold. Does anyone know if a referee has to take a striker’s ability into account before sending a player off for denying a goal scoring opportunity? I don’t think any chance for Daka would be easy enough to warrant a red card.
