  1. Reyes Cleary for me 22 goal involvements at Barnsley and has looked a real player. Brum and WBA in for him so if locality is a pull for him to move, surely we'd be in with a chance? Be an upgrade on Mavididi
  2. Derby and Watford linked with a move, cant see us getting much for him in terms of a fee, £2-3m at best? I think that's if were lucky
  3. The worst striker we've had here since Akinbiyi - FACT
  4. Anyone who has been involved in recruitment since we won the Premier League Title. My mind has been blown this afternoon looking through the transfer window activity in the past 10 years. We are around £700m spent in 10 years, with huge outlays for the likes of Slimani, Ayoze Perez, Daka and Soumare to name a few. We managed to flip a few for a decent profit from the list, but as soon as we gave Dudkin his position, we were unable to get deals over the line like we did before. The alarming amount of names on that list that have walked away for free from here as well is scary!
  5. Well given his Mrs is home now permanently with the kids, after this season its likely he will be off
  6. Not sure what the rules are these days.....perhaps it was just blind optimism
  7. Reading between the lines, the Italian Job hasnt quite worked out given Cremo sacked the manager who wanted him
  8. I am led to believe a £15m (+£5m in add-ons) deal for Bilal is already done with Stuttgart - El Khannouss to stay at Stuttgart beyond the season From your list I can see Coulibally, Nelson, Kristiansen and Okoli all being sold If we have anything about us we will offload Mavididi, petulant behaviour every time he is subbed off and lack of end product - better off without him. Abdul will be sold, 5-6m more than what we paid, no more than that as we wont be in a position to argue. Sadly I think Monga will be sold as well, someone will give us £20m for him and we will be forced to offload him as its pure profit. The concerning thing for me is how are we going to find £40m a year to run the academy, training ground and womens team as well as comply with EFL regulations for League 1
  9. It looks less and less likely winning any more points in the final 4 games, even with the likelihood WBA have a points deduction for breaching PSR before the end of the season, we would still be 1 point behind.
  10. Has a groin problem - we may well see him again before the season is out as the family are back in Leicester
  11. Think the team selection has to be to play on the front foot, this side to side football isn't getting us anywhere, in flashes at Wednesday on Monday when we put it in the right areas they couldn't deal with us, but we need to be more direct. If it was me, I would probably go with Begovic Hamza Vestergaard Okoli Thomas Skipp Winks Mukasa Fatawu Mavididi Daka
  12. Totally clutching at straws, but I think the best we can hope for is Swansea - Draw Portsmouth - Win Hull - Loss Milwall - Loss Blackburn - Win with Pompey only picking up one point on the final day against Birmingham, Oxford winning just once from the remaining 5 against Wednesday. Leicester - 48 ------------------- Oxford - 44 Pompey - 42 Wednesday -5 Quicker its over, the quicker we can move on, full reshape of the club from Top (literally) to bottom
  13. I think the blueprint is there for us all to see to be honest, we have to start using more of our academy. I fully expect that you will see Logan Briggs, Sammy Braybrooke, Will Alves, Jake Evans all a part of the first team whichever division we are in next year. We have potentially 15/16 players out of contract/Loan ends this summer and even that annual amount alone won't cover the debt we need to clear. I think it goes without saying we aren't going to be going in big for players in the summer. As much as I would love to see JJ and Fatawu in a Leicester shirt next season we have too much debt to off-set, so we have to be braced for the loan and free agent windows. Names that spring to mind if we are in the championship in areas I think we need James Beadle - Goalkeeper (On Loan) Dennis Cirkin - Left Back - reportedly ready to leave Sunderland on a free Dael Fry - Boro - out of contract in the summer, experienced championship defender With the young blood in mind, I wouldn't mind seeing these two either, Danny Ormerod (No relation to Brett), 19-years old and has 32 goal involvements in 34 games in the National League North - i've said this before on here, looking down the pyramid didn't serve us badly before. Nate Worth is catching the eye in the USL Championship with New York Red Bulls II, only 18, CM.
  14. The issues were here right from the get go, Kingy looking after things in pre-season, playing the kids for friendlies, half of the 'senior' players on holiday still looking to engineer moves away. At the time, I was here for it, almost the dawn of an era where we had to accept we had to start again. Some players out there yesterday are past their best and some just are not good enough period! Ayew is the WORST striker I have ever seen, every time he got on the ball he fouled his man, doesn't compete for balls in the air, runs into channels to hold the ball up.....at 3-3! What is he doing! He is USELESS! Ricardo is past his best, don't think he should be skipper either and it is such a shame his injuries have caught up with him. I agree with posts above about him and Thomas should of been hooked after an hour. No excuses for last night, Kingy has held his hands up, its about time the players did too! Anyone who paid their hard earnt money to watch that live last night should be compensated.
  15. These two selection choices were simply based of A - Lack of availability B - Lack of confidence/form C - What have we got to lose with 1 win in 18? The first team I selected, does show Aluko as a CB instead of his natural position as a full-back, however my thinking behind that is with Nelson on the other side, you have two 'central defenders' either side of Lascelles who will listen and learn from his experience, but also have the footballing ability to step further forward with the ball. The box 4 in midfield has its flaws, Winks' position in the 11 begs a question because of his suspected attitude, but again, with injury issues, suspensions and bad form, the selection was simply based on what we had. Having the two wide boys play further forward, does leave it wide open down the flanks, IF Mukasa and Page are not regimented in their roles to pick up in the pockets behind Fatawu and Mavididi which if I was picking the team would be my instruction, which would enable us to engage in a high press if Southampton play out from the back, so we can engage at the first opportunity, instead of allowing teams to come onto us, as we have done for most of the season under Cifuentes. We haven't gone back to what our identity was during the 90s and to a certain extent under Pearson and Ranieri which is having a go at teams, we sit off, so why not start on the front foot? You are entitled to your opinion, as I am mine and admittedly, of the two teams in my last post, I would have opted for the second of the two, despite my disdain for Ayew and Kristiansen. Simply because I feel the way we have played football in the last few seasons has gone away from its roots and perhaps going back to basics is what we need. If either of those teams went out and got the result, we wouldnt be looking at any of this as a negative, as a fan, that's all my opinion concerns
  16. We are clearly lacking options so I would punt for one of Begovic Aluko Lascelles (c) Nelson Skipp Winks Page Mukasa Fatawu Daka Mavididi 3-4-3 attacking, 4-5-1 defending, with Skip doing the emergency CB in that shape or Begovic Aluko Lascelles Nelson Kristiansen - he owes us a performance as so far he's robbed a living Fatawu Skipp Page Monga Richards Ayew - pains me to say Back to a basic 4-4-2, put it on them and see how they react, Monga and Abdul slightly deeper out of possession but more than capable to play on the counter Ricardo and Thomas dropped, the former had a mare Saturday, Winks as someone said further up is better with energy going off infront of him and causing issues, him and Skipp almost cancel each other out. one way or another we need a result
  17. Spot on! The problem is, he will be swayed to not because of the lack of other senior roles we have within the club. Seriously hope Top shows some bottle and hands him his P45
  18. If there is any legs in this I'd snap their hand off. The only other option of a GK was Patterson who's gone to Milwall and after Saturday I am even more convinced Jakub is not good enough - He got away with murder with the disallowed goal. Areola is keeping his spot at West Ham so if we can get it done, then lets do it.
  19. Has qualities we lack, I don't see him coming in and being a starter, but will offer us a little more than certain other players we've had wear the shirt this season.
  20. I have actually sat and listened to both interviews with Rob Dorsett and on the WYS Podcast. In both interviews, Top shows optimism and belief, which is to be expected, but I do think there is an ounce of naivety to how he comes across. Towards the end of his interview on WYS he is quick to say that he knows it is easy for people to get the knives out, this is of course when he is pressed on Rudkin by OPA, but then says if anyone should be blaming anyone it is him. I respect he has taken accountability of his duties as owner, but actions speak louder than words. Yes, following the interview he did what was needed with Marti, but now he needs to back that up now, he says the financial situation at the club is not as bad as the fans may think, but we still have to comply with PSR - It is clear the club needs an overhaul, but where my head is with it all, I think we are leaving ourselves with a mountain of a task to make the play-offs as he says, the shrug off when asked if it doesn't happen 'we get promoted next season' - is that enough for fans? The outline of needing a new CEO, Commercial Director and Sporting Director says to me, while a lot of fans see him as an inept Nepo baby he clearly feels he needs to surround himself with the right people, which we all know currently, he is not. I don't know if anyone else felt there were more questions to ask than getting answers
  21. Skipp - Page - Motsi
  22. would certainly deal with the toxic behaviour within the camp - its a yes from me! Or maybe Kingy running it with Pearson in like an advisory role?
  23. I think it is time for us to part ways, his first team debut was in 2017 and he is nothing more than a rotation player at best. 152 games in that time and three loans elsewhere, he seems to be riding the new manager wave of surviving and earning improved contracts for being 'home grown'. Our academy has only produced three players in the past ten years who have gone onto do anything of note - KDH, Chilwell and Barnes, the rest have just been average - at best. I think the 'one of our own' label is something that idiot upstairs is clinging to for dear life.
  24. I said previously when Cifuentes was due to be appointed the whole back room needed a re-shuffle. If Top has now seen the light by getting rid of the manager, DOF needs to be next. I said in the past you have ex-players who know the club in these types of roles so why not lean on them - Robert Huth has a football Directorship! Kingy will have the backing of the fans given his legacy, but there is a part of me that sees KP not holding onto him in the job until the end of the season, the only one they did it with was Shakey and the following year it didn't work out too well. They will have concerns over his legacy more so than the fact he actually might be able to turn it round for us. There just needs to be a clear direction and ideally not in the way of League 1!
