  1. We’re facing a relegation scrap with a manager who’s useless and an unsettled squad and we’ve decided to discuss our third choice striker not being good in his irregular 10 minute cameos. The very least of our problems
  2. Yeah, I do think/hope you’re right. It’s a very real possibility though and I do think a lot of people are in denial over it. We are currently nowhere near a top half premier league team and it’s very naive to think otherwise. You’re bang on when you say missing out on champions league was a huge thing. We’ve kind of been in a downwards trajectory ever since and I can’t help but think of what could have been had we not have capitulated. We’re now in a situation where it feels like an entire season has been written off before it’s even begun. We’ve gone from ambitions of European success to hoping that Daniel Amartey doesn’t miss-kick the ball into our own net or just outright pass it to an opposing teams striker in a very short period of time and it’s so disheartening as a fan.
  3. He can say and do what he wants. The fact remains that we hold all the cards and it’s a win-win regardless. We either: a) Sell him for a world record fee and invest it in a few players to improve our starting 11. b) Keep him. He can then either have a stormer of a season, get in the France squad and get his so called “dream move” next summer or he can sulk, miss out on the France squad and fade into obscurity over the next 5 years. I highly doubt he’d let that happen.
  4. This is just Leicester City fan fiction I love it.
  5. Injury or “other reason”?
  6. I won’t lie I am a little bit scared of us getting relegated. Incompetent manager, unsettled squad, experienced leader gone suddenly, no incoming transfers at all, two awful games to start the season. I could go on and on. We’re also a whisker away from a Daniel Amartey and Jannik Vestergaard centre back pairing.
  7. I know what to do. We keep him here and force him to play for the rest of the season. And by “force him to play for the rest of the season” I mean, make him honour the terms of his employment that he agreed to literally 5 months ago. Edit: I should mention, this is if nobody meets our valuation
  8. If it’s true then I don’t think this has particularly changes anything. He’s on a 5 year contract so he stays unless someone meets our valuation. That’s all there is to it.
  9. I completely agree with this. People talk about him being champions league worthy because we’ve seen him produce some absolutely masterful performances, but the reality is to even be considered a top premier league player you need to produce those performances consistently. We’ve seen flashes of his brilliance but the consistency to be a top player just isn’t there. Hence the zero bids and occasional interest seemingly only drummed up by his agent.
  10. I’d expect us to be pushing for that Europa conference league place at a minimum. Ok, we were 8th last season but we crawled there and never looked like finishing any higher. I think my frustration mainly comes from the fact that when BR came in, he did really well and we looked fantastic. Even finishing 5th instead of 4th it seemed like we were on the way up. We’d done fantastically in the league, we’d just moved into one of the best training facilities in the world, we had a European campaign to look forward to and we were all excited for what’s to come. Now, he rolls out the same stale team over and over again with the same tactics and us fans say the same things over and over again and all that excitement is gone. I know there’s obviously other factors involved but Brendan has had a huge part to play in this with his frankly incompetent managing of the squad.
  11. I’d have sacked him before that. We were awful in the run up to the cup final but that was conveniently forgotten about and seems to have bought him an entire year, seemingly more. Obviously you could say with hindsight that had he gone we may not have won that final, but personally, my patience had already started to wear thin. The cup win would have won me over had it not been instantly followed by a dull season filled with boring games and a pathetic European campaign.
  12. I genuinely can’t believe it’s taken so long for the majority to want him out. He should have been gone well over a year ago. I come on here every day, mostly to just read fellow fans thoughts and I’m so bored of reading after every game how Rodgers either messed up his tactics, failed to make the correct sub, made a change which resulted in lost points etc. It frustrates me even more when this is followed up with some half hearted defence that mostly just refers to the fact that he has been good in his first few seasons. He was brilliant when he came, and he did brilliantly to get us a cup and some 5th place finishes (really they were bottled 4th place finishes), but his entire time here has been overshadowed by failure and disappointment and I can’t wait for him to go. I just hope it’s soon.
  13. Same squad. Same manager. Same results. We've been given no reason to expect anything else.
  14. If only he had a Twitter bio we could study
  15. “Interest” according to who? It’s very likely that none of them will be gone in this window. I wish I could be as optimistic as you on this!
  16. Except that isn’t going to happen. Nobody wants those players because they’re on huge amounts of money and they’re not that good. We’re stuck with them. The incompetence of the club in handing out massive contracts to mediocre, championship standard players has finally caught up with us and we’re now having to deal with the consequences.
  17. Get that tactics board in defence! Absolute unit.
  18. Does a loan not help in that he’ll go back to a league he was previously very good in? Obviously it’s not guaranteed but there’s a good chance he’ll perform well with them and as a result, drive his price up. That’s the thinking behind it anyway I’d imagine.
  19. All it shows is that our social media gets very few “interactions”. This kind of makes sense as there’s only a few things like the match day images they do based on film/TV that aren’t just a typical “good win today” or more recently “A disappointing end at the King Power sees the foxes lose 1-0. We’ll be back stronger 💪” Its all very bland.
  20. We definitely need a rebuild. There’s lots of difficult questions that need answering in the summer and it’s all on Tops shoulders. If he puts the money in to sack Brendan and recruit the players (and probably manager) needed then we’ll be ok. Cheap out, keep Brendan and sign a couple of below standard players whilst selling everyone else and we could be in a relegation fight next season.
  21. That’s fair. I don’t think he’s been one of our biggest issues though. He hasn’t even played that much. I’d argue that iheanacho not scoring is a bigger issue considering he’s been our single striker most of the time. He’s looked hopeless. Ok his movement might be better than Daka’s at the minute but it’s still not served us too well.
  22. What the hell is going on?? He’s our “third choice” striker, has scored more goals than our “second choice” striker, is the youngest of our strikers, hasn’t even completed a full season with the club, hasn’t even completed a full season In the premier league! Theres quite a lot on this thread of people saying he’s not good enough, he’s a failed signing, he’ll never be good enough to be our first choice and I’m sorry but it’s just bollocks. There’s so many issues with this team at the moment but patson isn’t one of them.
  23. Don’t really have much to add, just wanted to defend Patson who happens to be my most recent favourite player. He’s got blistering pace, sublime finishing when one-on-one with the keeper, he’s still in his first season in arguably the toughest league in the world and he’s got a smile that could melt the hearts of even some of the posters on here (maybe not all of them reading through this topic). I love to slag players off quickly but even I can see he’ll come good.
  24. This is what worries me. He seems to be the most obvious and best choice and personally I think he’d be fantastic, but would he see us as the best option? He might have his sights set higher and a move to us would be seen as only a partial step up if that’s the case.
  25. Yet about 60% of you want him to stay according to the recent polls. Should have gone months ago. Or shall we just go with the usual? We’ve got a lot of injuries, players are just out of form, we used to be in league 1.
