  1. So Newcastle have to win on their final home game of the season, In front of a probably sold out stadium, during one of their greatest seasons ever, to confirm champions league? Is that right? Oh my god.
  2. This is the problem. It’s all “Look at what they’ve done”. I would say look at what they are DOING. The title win was 7 years ago. The company that ran our club back then is not the same now. They’ve ruined the club. Financially, we are ****ed. A lot of people are going to be surprised next season when it becomes apparent how skint we are. We’re in trouble and it’s all to do with how the club has been ran. I don’t care who king power might sell to. Could they be worse? Yep. Could they be better? Also yep. They might even ruin the club financially. Oh wait, that’s already happened.
  3. How responsible was Vichai for everything you mentioned and how responsible was Top? Was it King Powers leadership, or Vichai’s that brought us all those things? (The FA cup is the only outlier). I just don’t understand how you can defend King Power in its current state. I feel like your opinion is solely based on what they used to do for the club and not what they’ve been doing for the last few years. I feel like you, and a lot of people that sit and clap along after performances like tonight and most of the season are blinded by the past. Top has ruined the club. We were on the up, we were envied by most teams and seen as the blueprint of how to run a club. Then, Vichai was gone and his son was left, who can’t run a football club and can’t employ competent people. As for your last paragraph, do you really expect a decent rebuild from anyone at the club currently? I’m not sure there’s even a shred of evidence that suggests it will go well.
  4. Awful owners. They’re not Vichai anymore, they’re a random Thai business who have no interest in running the club for on-field success (or seemingly, no interest in running it at all). Get us sold and get Top and the entire board away from this once great club.
  5. The correct answer is that Top is ultimately responsible, although in some cases, this is indirect. Rodgers plays a big part, but he shouldn’t have been here because Top didn’t sack him 18 months ago. Rudkin has messed up player contracts to the point where we’ve got most of the squad not caring about going down because it doesn’t affect them at all. Again, he shouldn’t be here, Top should have sacked him. I’m not sure who’s been responsible for transfers but yet again, Top employs them (or at least employs the people that employed them). Everything to do with our relegation eventually leads to Top not running the club properly. He has left responsibilities to incompetent people and has refused to correct any mistakes. In fact, he hasn’t corrected anything.
  6. They don’t care. They aren’t purposely playing bad, that’s ridiculous, but why would they give their all when there are zero consequences to losing, yet there are consequences to getting injured, tiring themselves out etc. Take Maddison for example, if he gives his all and gets Injured, he isn’t getting a big contract with his next team. Relegation on his CV has no impact. Cags is off to atletico, they aren’t going to look and go “ah, actually, his team is going down, we’ll cancel the contract thanks”. It’s like with any job. If you know you’re leaving in a few weeks, you’re getting paid the same amount and the work you do in your final few weeks has no influence on your next job, are you really going to be giving it your all? Even subconsciously your performance will be affected.
  7. I wouldn’t pay anything, I’d spend the money on an expensive, state of the art garden instead and ask John Rudkin to look after it for me
  8. Completely incompetent and ultimately wholly responsible for ruining the club. A complete disgrace. Should be hounded out, but will be defended by most, simply because of who his dad was.
  9. No you’re right! That’s exactly what we need to be doing, as well as selling those high value players when we need to. We’re yet to see any evidence of that working though
  10. So what should our plan be then? How do we generate transfer funds as a club? Top’s very clearly not willing to put any in. We can’t just hang onto players and let them leave for nothing. We simply won’t be able to compete with anyone in the premier league (case in point, this season!). We’re going to have to improve our recruitment or go down, which we may well be doing anyway.
  11. If he isn’t signing a new contract then we have to sell whether we want to or not. We need to learn from our past mistakes. We can’t have another Maddison, Tielemans etc where we don’t make any/enough money from key players. People are constantly forgetting why we’re in the mess we’re in. We need to go back to the model of buy, improve and sell. 60 million gets us 2 or 3 younger players who we can sell on for profit. I understand the worry that it could leave us severely depleted but that’s where our recruitment is key.
  12. No, we’re gone. There’s absolutely no evidence that we’ll get anything from our remaining games, given we couldn’t beat Leeds or Everton who are far, far worse than the teams we’ve yet to face. We aren’t good enough and it just doesn’t mean much to the players. Relegation doesn’t affect 90% of them because they won’t be here to play in the championship.
  13. Top is responsible for his continued employment and so is ultimately responsible for his failure. Top isn’t in the frame of “bad owner” in that he sucks money out of the club and doesn’t care about the fans like a Vincent Tan type, he’s a bad owner, simply because he can’t do the job very well. The minimum he needs to do is employ competent people to run the club for him and he’s failed to do that.
  14. I think it’s important that people remember why we sign players like VK. He’s not going to be perfect, if he was at his age, he wouldn’t be playing for us. He’s going to have games like last night and he’s going to have games where he’s MOTM. We need these young players who need polishing so that we can bed them into the premier league and sell for profit, that’s how we’re gonna compete. We can’t go slagging off every 20 year old that comes Into the team and doesn’t perform week-in-week-out. Ive been encouraged from what I’ve seen of him. I think he’s good on the ball and has the ability to produce some great passes, including his assist against wolves. His tackling is decent too. Just give him time.
  15. This could unfortunately be a necessary evil. We need something to trigger a reshuffle of the board and probably sale of the club, because there’s no way we should trust them to oversee a complete rebuild of the squad with them and the staff they currently employ. Going down will allow us to quietly reset over the next few seasons. Could be a very long time until we’re back in the premier league but hopefully when we do, it’ll be with a clear, well structured plan in place (pretty much like last time). Let’s hope history repeats itself.
  16. The fact he’s out with his mates getting on the booze today doesn’t really mean much in isolation. What does mean a lot though is that he’s clearly not emotionally Invested in what’s going on at the club, which is something that’s been quite apparent for a while now. He’ll have had a brief look at the score today, shrugged it off and had another pint of Chang. His thought process will Have been “ah well, John and Susan have got it, never mind”. Cut to next season when he realises no one in Thailand actually cares about a second tier English football team and he’ll be selling up to whoever wants us. Such a shame for Vichai. At least his legacy will be protected amongst us fans.
  17. What’s absolutely disgusting is that when we lose to West Ham at home on the last day of the season, having long been confirmed we’ll be in the championship next season, there’s still going to be thousands of brainless Leicester fans mindlessly clapping Brendan and Top as if they’re just victims of circumstance 🤮 Yuk.
  18. What’s even worse is that I didn’t. We could have lost 27-0 to Chelsea and he could have ran around the pitch burning an effigy of top, rudkin and whelan whilst praising graham potter’s Ferrari and character and he still would be in a job today. He’s here until he decides otherwise.
  19. You’ve quoted me but you haven’t really addressed anything I wrote. Did I say I should be running the club? Is anyone saying that? He’s supposed to be running the club but is seemingly failing. If someone can provide evidence he’s “working his butt off” then great.
  20. I voted yes although admittedly that might have been a bit reactionary. I don’t necessarily want top and king power out, I want him to do something. He doesn’t appear to be resolving any issues that are appearing in his business. If King Power were bleeding money and heading south would he just ignore it and leave a board of useless people to just get on with it? It doesn’t exactly point to a good businessman. A nice PR move of converting debt into equity and some January signings was needed and was a huge step in the right direction, but the board that he oversees are very clearly unfit for purpose and we’re still stuck with Brendan ****ing Rodgers who’s only reason for employment seems to be unconditional love from Top. Action is needed and if that’s him selling then I’m all for it. Otherwise, he should actually run the club that his family bought and has him as owner. There’s no room for sentiment at this stage when we could be in crippling debt in the second tier of english football next season.
  21. Remember when we won 2 games in a row and everyone was on their high horse about backing Brendan and how he was perfect? Are we allowed to continue to point out his negatives over the past 2 years again now? His time here has been one huge disappointment. He’s got us one FA cup which was fantastic and is the only thing he rightly deserves credit for. Everything else has been a failure. On paper, two top 5 finishes look great. In reality, that was two failed top 4 finishes. Our European campaigns have been laughable, whimpering out of Europe twice. And now we’re a lower table premier league side who are bending over for the big boys and scraping a few wins to keep us afloat. We’re not special like we thought we were when we were challenging top 4, we’re just another Everton. I can’t stand another 2.5 years of him but unfortunately, I think that’s what we’ll get. All we can hope for is that we succeed in spite of him, not because of him.
  22. He hasn’t thrown it. You’d be getting into full on conspiracy territory with that. He has set up to draw 0-0 though which is just as depressing.
  23. The worst thing is that in Brendan’s mind, that was the second best outcome. The first being a 0-0 draw. He sets us up to pretty much bend over for the big boys and hope they either don’t score or they keep our goal difference down.
  24. I’ve been frustrated with the situation all season. He’s league 1 standard and I’m not even exaggerating. It’s got the the point where I genuinely had a dream last night where I was at the training ground and found myself taking over from Brendan. The first thing I did was make my way over to the goalkeepers, pull Danny aside and tell him I was dropping him for Iversen because he simply wasn’t good enough for the premier league. He didn’t take it well. I told Iversen he was ready to step up and I had full confidence in him. Brendan out, me in.
