  1. Really liked the look of him tonight!
  2. Did well tonight. Still a bit rash and raw, but could really kick on this season.
  3. Never feel comfortable criticising a player who is currently wearing the shirt, but I don't think many tears would be shed if we managed to shift him on this summer.
  4. Plenty to be cheerful about: - Jamie Vardy is and always will be an absolute legend - We have a pragmatic manager who can graft those sort of points - Lots of fight in the team - they seem to really care - More transfers incoming - Buononatte looks a handful Also some reasons to be fearful: - First half was shocking - Decordova totally off the pace - Ricardo and Mavididi out of favour? All in all, a good season curtain raiser. Will be a tough slog of a season but I'm still confident we can be competitive in the division (points deduction pending!).
  5. Shall we close the thread in the hope it inspires a highly unlikely U-turn?
  6. If that figure is accurate (which I doubt), a 5-year deal would count as £5m per year on the PSR. KDH's sale, however, is £30m in pure profit. This season, we could sign 6 Oliver Skipps for the same value of 1 KDH sale. The concern is future seasons, where we won't have a £30m sale to offset costs.
  7. Sorry @Guest I'm being an arsehole. Taking out my frustrations due to a lack of sleep with a 4-week-old baby on you! But I wish our fans would support the club more. I love the club and it's hard reading such constant negativity. Too few signings, moan. Make a signing, moan. Moan about Maresca, moan about his replacement. Whine about the kit, whine about the sponsor. Complain about everything, even weeks after winning a league. But it's unfair to take my frustrations (exacerbated by personal circumstances) purely on you. Sorry!
  8. Yep - this morning I messaged 2 Spurs supporting friends and 1 Norwich (he had a loan there), all 3 raved about him. Always bodes well!
  9. I looked at your post history, all you do is moan and direct hate at my club. I think a "fan" should support their club. You seem to hate Leicester more than a Forest fan would. FWIW, in addition to this good signing we're clearly still in the market for more wingers / strikers. That's on top of attacking signings in the last 12 months like Fatawu, Mavididi, Buononatte, Decordova and Cannon (as well as extending Vardy's contract). But yeah just moan and whinge. That will help
  10. Feel free to go and "support" somebody else then.
  11. Agree we need a striker and I'm sure we're still in the market for one, but we have already invested in forwards - Fatawu, Decordova and Buonanotte. Strikers are the hardest commodity of all and the position we've wasted the most money on glamorous flops before. With Vardy still here I'd take a loan over risking another Daka / Slimani / Musa when we really can't afford one.
  12. It will be £20m with add-ons which, if met, mean he's worth every penny. We sold Timothy Castagne for £15m. If we're only looking at cheap players they'll either be old, broken or crap. He's a good signing. The negativity on here is just ridiculous sometimes.
  13. I think minimum 3. Could depend on how many we can move on, but we're clearly trying to strengthen the squad. I agree it would have been better to do business earlier in the window, but the reality of running a club is different to making transfers on Football Manager. We might even get some good deals at the end of the window as clubs become desperate to juggle their squads.
  14. Good signing - talented player with top flight experience but his best years still ahead of him. Goes straight into the first team and already has a long-established relationship with his midfield partner. Still our fans moan
  15. Our players already finished above everyone else in the Championship though Only joking - I agree there are deals to be had in the Championship. Plenty of good young players in that division. Unless the rumours have all been nonsense, it does seem like we do have some money to spend - and as frustrating as it is to be saying this at such a late stage of the window, we might even be waiting for one or two outgoings before committing to who we bring in. I actually think the players we've brought in so far have been positive additions. Fingers crossed we have some more players lined up!
  16. Some good shouts there. Would particularly like Jonathan Rowe or Gus Hamer! Unlikely I'm sure, but the rumours were that Harvey Barnes wasn't pushing for a move to Newcastle. Now we're back in the Prem and he's a sub up there, could he possibly be available on a loan?
  17. We won the league last season... Subjective. I think it's a good thing that we've lost unmotivated and/or old players and added 5 who played regular top flight football last season (Buononatte, Decordova, Okoli, Soumare and Kristiansen) and 2 exciting young talents (Fatawu and Golding). I get people being underwhelmed (and I certainly hope we do some more business before the window closes), but the reaction of many seems disproportionate.
  18. More batterings than the 0 we've currently had. Also that one fit striker cost £6m and is a young player with loads of potential - exactly the sort of profile our fans seem desperate for. He should be supported, not left to play in a toxic atmosphere. As I said, we have problems. I'd just rather enjoy football and support my club than act like a petulant child about not signing somebody a Twitter 'journalist' randomly linked us to because they're good on Fifa.
  19. We do have the most pathetic fan base in the country. All this whining after winning the league and adding five players who were top flight regulars last season (Okoli, Decordova and Buononatte, as well as the returning Soumare and Kristiansen), as well as adding two great young talents (Fatawu and England youth captain Golding). Appreciate we've got problems going into the new season but the amount of toys going out of the pram is embarrassing.
  20. I think Justin is good enough, and I'm pretty confident Mavididi can make the step up. Decordova was a regular starter in the Prem last season - getting on a bit, but he can add value. I have huge concerns over Wout Faes, but he does start for Belgium so I'm sure he'd get in some Prem teams. He's the sort of defender who could be very good if he had the right partner. No idea about if Okoli is that partner! Definitely concerned about the squad depth and strikers, but I think we can compete with at least 6 or 7 teams over the course of a season. Maybe I'm naive, but I'd rather be that than as miserable as some of the posters on this forum!
  21. Couldn't agree more. There are improvements to be made (and should have been made at the start of the window), but our squad is nowhere near as bad as is being made out.
  22. Fair enough, I think I got his age mixed up with Zaha! But he still started most games last season for a team that finished 10th. He can be an asset next season - on the pitch and supporting players like Mavididi and Fatawu off it!
  23. I really do not understand this thread. Palace fans love him, can play in loads of positions and is a consistent top flight player. At 31 he's got a few years left in the tank and he's cheap. I can understand being underwhelmed but the massive negativity seems over the top! IMO he would be the Marc Albrighton replacement and Hlozek would be the Iheanacho replacement. Both feel like upgrades at this stage of their careers.
  24. A shame if it doesn't come off, but blimey there are some hysterical reactions on here. I also think Ayew is a decent player. There's a reason he's been a regular starter in the Prem for years and years, would be a useful asset.
  25. Having lived a mile from Selhurst Park for a few years, I can say with absolute certainty that Zaha is loved both personally and as a player by their fans. He opened up something like 50 of his properties for NHS staff to live in for free during the pandemic. Does loads of stuff for local charities. I think he's an arsehole on the pitch, but so are a lot of players. He's incredibly driven and a terrible loser, but that doesn't make him a bad apple in the dressing room. Probably more like a Vardy than a Collymore. Only concern I have is I did once see him coming out of the local chicken takeaway!
