Home and Away Support/Atmosphere
LeePhilpottsBaldSpot replied to FoxesTalker's topic in Leicester City Forum
Obviously in terms of accountability far more goes to the board, players and past managers than the supporters. Regardless, fans have a bigger role to play when the team is shit. We need to create a siege mentality, us vs the world. Many aren't playing it, and prefer to make the mentality 'us vs the players'. If you try to encourage / motivate the team you get called a "happy clapper" or "KPFC" by others. I know it’s really ****ing frustrating and venting seems like the only outlet, but I’d rather see in-game atmospheres that encourage struggling players rather than the atmosphere spiralling into a contagious echo chamber of misery. There's a difference between criticising all that is wrong with the club after a bad performance and booing subs coming on and chanting during a match against academy players clearly short on confidence. Sometimes it feels like lots of our ‘fans’ hate the club more than they support it. -
Sheff Weds 1-1 LCFC - Full Time

Been saying this for ages. We should be playing 5-3-2 - an extra centre back and an extra striker to compensate for the others not being good enough. Those who booed Ayew coming on are doing their bit to get us relegated. Loyal supporters my arse. -

We've been so, so weak defending corners for so, so long -
The silver lining with Daka is he doesn't shy away. It would be nice if he didn't mis-hit clear chances, but at least he comes back for another try. (I fully recognise that is nowhere near good enough for what we need, but still probably the best in a very bad small bunch of strikers we have)
-
He beat Bristol City. I think he's stabilised us well, but now he needs to show he can turn it up a couple of notches. Need to turn the draws into wins for at least 2 of the next 3.
-
He looks very poor - especially on crosses. Part of me thinks he could still come good and it could be a short term confidence thing after behind thrown in behind a calamitous defence. Regardless, Begovic should be starting for the remainder of the season.

Who do you want to see play on Friday? -
Sorry but Perez was a much better signing. Perez started every game of our FA Cup winning run and was instrumental in the final goal. He also scored a hat-trick in the 0-9. I'd argue neither of those things would have happened if Dennis Praet played instead of Ayoze Perez. He delivered a hell of a lot more than Daka, who also joined when we were good lest we forget.
-
Daka is nowhere near good enough but I've never disliked him personally - he tries. He doesn''t hide or shy away in games. I've got a weird feeling he's going to score the goal that keeps us up...

Good point and four extremely winnable games to come (though we've picked up no points from similar games recently). Hopefully our players come motivated and focused, and the fans do their bit to encourage them. Preston (h), S.Wed (a), Swansea (h), Portsmouth (a). Minimum 9 points. -
I genuinely thought he was 21/22... 😆 I think Stolarczyk is poor though tbf he does have the worst defence we've ever had in front of him. I'm sure he'd look better with more competent defenders - but there's no evidence so far that he'd be competent enough.
-
We have to try something different. If your two centre backs are shit you add a third (even if also shit) to help them out.
-
I've been complaining about the commitment to 4-2-3-1 for ages now. Begovic Okoli Lascelles Veste Aluko/Pereira VK/Thomas James Skipp Winks Fatawu Daka It's still a crap team but it would be much more solid.
-
Why they all persist with 4-2-3-1 is what bamboozles me. It must be mandated onto them so there's consistency with youth teams or something. It clearly isn't working. Why the **** don't they change it.

QPR Post Match ! Disgraceful

I'm not saying the players we have don't need replacing but I don't have much hope for the next batch of young players. Stolarczyk, Hamza, Nelson, Thomas are all crap. The u23s seem to always be low in their leagues. Seagrave hasn't improved a single player. The likes of Chilwell, Barnes and KDH feel a long time ago. -
Jakub Pereira Okoli Nelson Thomas Skipp Winks Fatawu Mukasa Monga Daka 1-0 win
-
I think he's passable as a 70th minute sub in central midfield. He's not a right back, not a leader and (barring a crisis) shouldn't be starting. I know somebody who has had dealings with him and says he's an absolute bellend in real life. That doesn't prohibit him being a good footballer, of course. But if he's shit as well if doesn't help his cause

LCFC 2-0 Bristol City, post-match thread
LeePhilpottsBaldSpot replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
We look so much more like a normal football club since Rowett came in. It's not been anything spectacular, just common sense football and organisation. The last few managers have over-complicated it. Onto the next one. Another must win. -
Our new manager was welcomed by hundreds protesting before his first game. The atmosphere is terrible before, during and after every home game. The players, managers and execs have been shit and I'm as angry as anyone, but during a match I 100% want them all to do well. Sadly we have quite a few "supporters" who call anyone who wants to support the club a happy clapper, and anyone who doesn't just wallow in constant self pity and misery 'KPFC'.
