Must win. Also imperative the atmosphere isn't toxic. If going down, you have your bit to play.

Ipswich 1-1 LCFC - Post Match
LeePhilpottsBaldSpot replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Good point really. Ipswich not at the races but maybe that's because we made it tough for them. Some of the problems with concentration, discipline and silly errors vastly improved. Still some signs of them (eg Okoli passing, Hamza bombscare that should have been a penalty). A good point and onto the next one with more optimism than I had before -
Our fans really need to stop the whining. Yes it's shit at the moment. As fans, let's do our bit - roll up your sleeves and stop being whiney little bitches.

They did win the top flight in 1992 TBF I think they were in League One 15 years after winning the top division and 5 years after being in a Champion's League semi final. If we go down this season they're probably the most similar story historically.

Suspect either way he'll be off to the MLS or Saudi for one year before calling it a day -

The thing that amazes me is that we've broken all of these financial rules by creating a team that would lose about 7-0 to players we've got rid of. Imagine our team now playing against 2026 versions of Schmeichel Castagne Maguire Fofana Chilwell Tielemans Ndidi Maddison Perez Barmes Vardy Loads more names I could have listed. No disrespect to him personally but a team that starts Matty James is 16 points ahead of us... unbelievable collapse.

Apologies if I'm being thick but wouldn't a new owner just cease the things draining money. Unless I'm misunderstanding contracts etc it's not like we have to continue making the mistakes of the past. If we need to - move back into Belvoir Drive, sell off Seagrave (either to another club / the FA or just flatten it and sell the land for housing). Women's team could sadly have to downgrade if it's losing money. The £5m quoted for the youth set up seems worth it as a loss leader. Will give us players we don't need transfer fees and when the time comes sellable assets. We made £12m back on Kasey McAteer, £25m on KDH, £35m on Barnes, £45m on Chilwell, etc. -

Could Jordan James be back for this? -
We are shit but so are lots of other clubs. All to play for but I think we'll get over the line with some of the ugliest football ever seen.

Basically corporate / Linkedin 'high performance' bollocks jarring with the messy reality of a struggling football club. Best summary was when Aiden McGeady criticised him for flying in on a club-financed helicopter to make long-serving low-wage staff redundant. Here's the most famous clip from where he thought he could turn a club in crisis around by playing a different song when the players are coming onto the pitch King Power are shit but this guy is still an absolute grifter.

Fixed that for you... 😉 Maybe it's too soon for Richards (I've never seen him play!) but at this stage I'd start Monga over Mavididi. Picking the same team makes players complacent and easy for the opposition to prepare for - Richards or Monga could make us more chaotic and unpredictable. Stephy working his arse off to earn back his place as a pissed off sub would be helpful when closing out a game too. -

Also had my car break down en route to the Tottenham game where we conceded two in the last 7 seconds. Lucky escape. -

Aged about 16 I got chased by Wolves fans calling me and my mates "Pakis". Was after a game towards the end of the Micky Adams promotion season. I'm white but was in a group with 5 mates, half of which were Asian. We all got away unscathed, but one of the Asian lads never came to the football with us again -
Fair enough!

Appreciate we've all been driven mad by the inaction in recent years (and never more so than the last month), but it's not been 24 hours since Percy tweeted we're in advanced negotiations. Hopefully he'll be announced tonight and be taking training tomorrow, and I'm sure he'll be in the dugout at Stoke (who hate him btw!).

I understand where you're coming from but I've always been a bit confused by this criticism. There was some gold on the home shirt but blue and white were hardly banished from the club's identity. I'd say the home kit was predominantly blue/white, away kit black/white, 3rd kit white/blue. (If King Power wanted to rebrand us gold instead of blue/white they wouldn't have made the home kit sponsor in massive white letters! ) Lots to criticise King Power for but I really don't think they've 'goldwashed' the club's identity...

Still no announcement or seemingly reporting by other journalists. Have we been Preki'd?

You get a bit of a sense of what he's like from these clips from a podcast he used to co-host. https://www.instagram.com/breakinglinespod?igsh=MXJtc2FodGsxcHA4eg== Not sure that link is working but you can find it by searching for BreakingLinesPod on Instagram. Have skipped through a few videos and I know it's only a podcast but he comes across well - straight talking, common sense, a bit old school. Very different to Cifuentes.
