I've been complaining about the commitment to 4-2-3-1 for ages now. Begovic Okoli Lascelles Veste Aluko/Pereira VK/Thomas James Skipp Winks Fatawu Daka It's still a crap team but it would be much more solid.
-
Why they all persist with 4-2-3-1 is what bamboozles me. It must be mandated onto them so there's consistency with youth teams or something. It clearly isn't working. Why the **** don't they change it.

QPR Post Match ! Disgraceful

I'm not saying the players we have don't need replacing but I don't have much hope for the next batch of young players. Stolarczyk, Hamza, Nelson, Thomas are all crap. The u23s seem to always be low in their leagues. Seagrave hasn't improved a single player. The likes of Chilwell, Barnes and KDH feel a long time ago. -
Jakub Pereira Okoli Nelson Thomas Skipp Winks Fatawu Mukasa Monga Daka 1-0 win

I think he's passable as a 70th minute sub in central midfield. He's not a right back, not a leader and (barring a crisis) shouldn't be starting. I know somebody who has had dealings with him and says he's an absolute bellend in real life. That doesn't prohibit him being a good footballer, of course. But if he's shit as well if doesn't help his cause

LCFC 2-0 Bristol City, post-match thread
LeePhilpottsBaldSpot replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
We look so much more like a normal football club since Rowett came in. It's not been anything spectacular, just common sense football and organisation. The last few managers have over-complicated it. Onto the next one. Another must win. -
Our new manager was welcomed by hundreds protesting before his first game. The atmosphere is terrible before, during and after every home game. The players, managers and execs have been shit and I'm as angry as anyone, but during a match I 100% want them all to do well. Sadly we have quite a few "supporters" who call anyone who wants to support the club a happy clapper, and anyone who doesn't just wallow in constant self pity and misery 'KPFC'.

Must win. Also imperative the atmosphere isn't toxic. If going down, you have your bit to play.

Ipswich 1-1 LCFC - Post Match
LeePhilpottsBaldSpot replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Good point really. Ipswich not at the races but maybe that's because we made it tough for them. Some of the problems with concentration, discipline and silly errors vastly improved. Still some signs of them (eg Okoli passing, Hamza bombscare that should have been a penalty). A good point and onto the next one with more optimism than I had before -
Our fans really need to stop the whining. Yes it's shit at the moment. As fans, let's do our bit - roll up your sleeves and stop being whiney little bitches.

They did win the top flight in 1992 TBF I think they were in League One 15 years after winning the top division and 5 years after being in a Champion's League semi final. If we go down this season they're probably the most similar story historically.

The thing that amazes me is that we've broken all of these financial rules by creating a team that would lose about 7-0 to players we've got rid of. Imagine our team now playing against 2026 versions of Schmeichel Castagne Maguire Fofana Chilwell Tielemans Ndidi Maddison Perez Barmes Vardy Loads more names I could have listed. No disrespect to him personally but a team that starts Matty James is 16 points ahead of us... unbelievable collapse.

Apologies if I'm being thick but wouldn't a new owner just cease the things draining money. Unless I'm misunderstanding contracts etc it's not like we have to continue making the mistakes of the past. If we need to - move back into Belvoir Drive, sell off Seagrave (either to another club / the FA or just flatten it and sell the land for housing). Women's team could sadly have to downgrade if it's losing money. The £5m quoted for the youth set up seems worth it as a loss leader. Will give us players we don't need transfer fees and when the time comes sellable assets. We made £12m back on Kasey McAteer, £25m on KDH, £35m on Barnes, £45m on Chilwell, etc. -

Could Jordan James be back for this? -
We are shit but so are lots of other clubs. All to play for but I think we'll get over the line with some of the ugliest football ever seen.
-
Basically corporate / Linkedin 'high performance' bollocks jarring with the messy reality of a struggling football club. Best summary was when Aiden McGeady criticised him for flying in on a club-financed helicopter to make long-serving low-wage staff redundant. Here's the most famous clip from where he thought he could turn a club in crisis around by playing a different song when the players are coming onto the pitch King Power are shit but this guy is still an absolute grifter.

Fixed that for you... 😉 Maybe it's too soon for Richards (I've never seen him play!) but at this stage I'd start Monga over Mavididi. Picking the same team makes players complacent and easy for the opposition to prepare for - Richards or Monga could make us more chaotic and unpredictable. Stephy working his arse off to earn back his place as a pissed off sub would be helpful when closing out a game too.
